I had previously booked a table for a group of 25 people for a leaving party. Arrived there 15mins ahead of booked time to find the building in darkness and a sign saying it was closed due to unforseen circumstances. I had no call, despite taking all contact detail at the time of booking. Sign left in the door by environmental health stated a NUMBER of things about RATS, in and around the food prep areas, food, drinks and their (rat) droppings. Diabolical customer services. Never mind cleanliness. Absolutely disgusting & then to find out the reasons are RATS! In their kitchen, cellar, bar, on their food and cooking utensils etc.

Hidden gem in the centre of Cardiff. Excellent affordable vegan indian food, always quiet in there and service is great.

It's a takeaway, how do you mark atmosphere?

Omg sorry to say food was dissecting cold and not worth 37.50 . Only thing nice was chutney tray everything else was stale and cold and delivered by lovely lady so sad

I ordered a vegetable dansaak because that’s what I felt like (I’m not a veggie)! What I got was a potato curry, the sauce was nice and I accept that potato can be considered a vegetable but to have a veg curry that’s totally composed of new potatoes is a liberty! No cauliflower, no carrots, no aubergine! Come on get your act together and give us some delicious veg and not bland spuds 😡

Went for the first time today and it won't be the last time, very impressed with the food it was delicious and the place is very clean top of my list now.

Left a really positive review for this place a few months ago, but time to try somewhere else next time the lamb pathia is usualy amazing but last time I had it meat was tough and it was bland supposed to be 3 chilli rating heat wise , so tried a south Indian garlic chilli chicken next time . Now I kmow its supposed to be very garlicky but this must have had a whole bulb of thickly sliced raw garlic in it spend 10 minutes picking it all out im more than happy to taste lots of gsrlic but i shouldnt have to eat in big chunks surely , so today I ordered a lamb zamdani, which is a very spicy dish 4 chilli review but was just a thick red sauce which literaly just tasted like a mouthful of chilli powder coudnt taste anything else not nice at all .. Very disappointing for somewhere that was just voted best in south wales ..

Fue por casualidad que pudimos dar un paseo por la mesa, y por una noche de lunes todavía estaba muy ocupado. Hemos querido probar este lugar durante bastante tiempo después de escuchar cosas tan buenas sobre él, y no nos decepcionó. Todo estaba bien de precio y razonable, si acaso podrían estar cobrando más. El servicio fue excelente - cada persona que habló con nosotros era tan encantador y muy servicial y atento, que te hace sentir muy relajado y mejora su experiencia gastronómica. Las porciones fueron generosas y llenas, opté por el pollo Tikka Masala con arroz Basmati, compartimos un pan naan que fue suficiente para los dos. La salsa de curry y la calidad del pollo fue probablemente uno de los mejores de un restaurante indio sentado que he tenido - me hace pensar que una comida para llevar allí sería igual de bueno y que será mi próxima parada. Sin duda volveremos a y pedir desde Salkaara de nuevo, una india de prueba obligada en Cardiff.

Had dinner here last night and the food was superb! The locations was intimate and steeped in history. But the star of the show was the amazing service provided by all the members of staff! Would highly recommend!

I ordered food to be delived for 9pm. The driver was finishing at 9 due to wanting to be home for Mothers Day. Lovely guy. Thank you The food was fantastic. Will definitely order again and visit the restaurant .5 stars!
