Taste of Asia in Newport

We had a great night there the food was mmmmm loved everything I had ! the staff were very friendly and polite ! Only problem for me I like a glass of wine with my food but they said I could buy a bottle from a near by store so no problem 😌 we had a great night great food and a very friendly atmosphere we would definitely go again

The waiters are so friendly, the head chef even greeted us to see how we were doing and check if the food was up to standard, totally recommend if you’re looking for some authentic food.

Fabulous meal, I really recommend the rogan Josh! Even though we were the only guests in there there was a great atmosphere.

The menu was really good and great variety for different tastes. The lamb samosas were amazing but could have done with a bit extra on the plate.

A nice intimate venue with attentive, friendly staff. They have no alcohol on sale but will allow you to bring your own. Would definitely recommend it to others.

In Newport for a conference and came on the back of reviews and we were not disappointed. The onion bhajis are probably the best I’ve ever had. I had a chicken bhuna and my sister had the dopiaza. 2 clean plates and full stomachs. Our waiter Sham was lovely and friendly and very attentive to us. The chef came out and introduced himself and checked all the food was to our liking which was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend.

We went here for my wife's birthday. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The chef took the time to come out and talk us through the dishes we ordered. How it was prepared and cooked. Highly recommended and will return.

Exceptional Indian food that is so well presented your mouth is watering the second you cast eyes on it. The flavours are deep and complex with spices that come alive on the palette - a real gem of a find on a wet Sunday evening

The food is fabulous, beautifully cooked and presented. It has some unique dishes on the menu, and If we lived locally it would be our favourite restaurant both for dining in and takeaways and I would try all the dishes! Lovely end to a week visiting our kids and grandkids.

Me and my boyfriend randomly chose to eat at this Indian restaurant a few months ago and it really surprised us... We've gotten a takeaway every week ever since. It's always 10/10 and we've tried a few different things. The chicken dhansak and tarka dal are firm favourites but not a single dish has ever disappointed! The staff are really lovely and friendly and the overall cost is very good value for money! :) :)

Well, what a hidden gem this place is! Last night I had one of the best currys here that I've had anywhere. I tried the beef dhansak and it was absolutely beautiful. Full of flavour with just the right amount of heat. AND it's a BYO! I will definitely be back soon.

First time eating in this establishment and very impressed. Myself and husband just walked and given a table straight away. The staff were very attentive and polite. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very warm, friendly and calm. The toilets were very clean and all amenities were available. Would definitely recommend this establishment to people and most definitely will be returning there.

Alongside the mouth-watering chicken curries, the biryanis served in this restaurant are not only aromatic, but also makes you want to come back for more. The staff were really polite and the chef was a real charmer. Loved the ambiance! Would recommend to friends.

I got a chicken tikka biryani , a takeaway and trust me being an Indian and having had a biryanis before , I can vouch that this was by far the worst one. The chicken tikka peices weren't cooked properly. This was nothing close to a biryani and I got a lot of charred bits from grilled chicken bits . So the rice was not palatable. No yogurt as complimentary. I was famished but i couldn't eat more than few bites. I would definitely not recommend this . 11.50quid for an absolutely bad biryani . Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Food is average, abit over rated

I had a fantastic dining experience here. Very welcoming staff and the food was delicious. I had the Chicken Makhani; I think it might just be the best I’ve ever had.

Very happy with the food and service here. Remember it's BYOB if you want any alcoholic to drink, an off license just around the corner. I had popadoms to start with and then Taka taka tin with Chicken tikka and a medium sauce, garlic naan and pilau rice on the side. All was very good but the naan could been a but thinner and more charred for my taste.

Went to taste of asia with the work lot. 11 of us walked in without booking on Saturday night with bookings high they still managed to get us in, service was great all night and food even better. Recommend highly

I have tried this restaurant a few times now and not all is up to scratch. It really will be hit or miss as to wether your meal is worth the money you pay here. My curry is always warm never hot, onion bhajis cold and not nice at this temperature. Staff are nice ish, though they look at you as if your about to hijack the place, after 3 attempts we won't be returning.

Ended a night of pre Christmas drinks with a visit to the Taste of Asia.The food was outstanding and the menu had lots of variety to suit all tastes. Excellent,friendly service throughout the meal.

This is an amazing restaurant, went with the wife. They were very caring even had great recommendations for dishes since she had not been to an Indian restaurant before. Definitely the best spot for for a date/family dinner.

It was a nice experience to have a indian test here. But I would say like it is a more modified version because in Britain people don't eat much spicy 🤔. Overall, it is very good.

I’ve never had the orange coconut balls before and I will be on the lookout 👀 for them in the future 😂. The onion bhaji’s were cooked very nice and tasted very delicious. The photo doesn’t do them justice 👍. The mains were very tasty. The tikka was seasoned very well and cooked very well with the onions 🧅 and peppers 🫑 in both dishes. The dish’s had lots of flavour and the tikka karhai had a lovely kick to it. The both mains came on a sizzler plate and I do love listening to the sizzle as I plate up 😂. I loved the masala sauce and accompanied the main dishes very well. The Keemanaan bread was very nice. The bread wasn’t burnt and it had a decent amount of keema in it. I nearly ordered an extra one for on the way home lol. They also do local delivery and they are a 5 STAR 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟rating restaurant 👌. The food is all halal too. Overall the food was extremely delicious and the staff were very helpful and polite. The restaurant has a very cosy feeling about it and I could easily sink a bottle of wine 🍷 with a curry there any day of the week 🙈. I’ll definitely be back for more in the future 👍.
