Popped in here on the last day of our 5 day trip to Port Charlotte, just for a cup of tea and a cake, as we were having a meal later. Was surprised to see such a full menu, if we had known sooner we would have dined here. Instead, one night we had driven to Bowmore for a meal, as our hote reataurnat was fully booked.so tea, coffee and cake it was, and theywas lovely. I ended up coming back later that day for a baked potato. The facilities were clean, and the staff friendly (We visited during Covid-19).There were outside tables with a sea view and a large car park, as it is serving a campsite. If I am ever in Islay again, I will be sure to come here for a meal.

Shimla cottage you have been toppled. What a lovely meal here. My wife and i use our local Indian which is excellent. The owner of the restaurant hailed from Glasgow so we knew the grub would be good. Gluten free not a problem . The mixed pakora was lovely and the tandoori grill was epic. My wife enjoyed her food murgh burnly a chicken dish number 48 on the menu was stunning. Spicy but not in a blow your head off but in a subtle way. £64 very reasonable lovely restaurant

As visitors to the area, we were a little apprehensive to order here after reading mixed reviews. We are so pleased we ignored the few negative reviews; we really enjoyed our food (particularly the korma, madras and saag paneer), it pleasantly surprised us and satisfied our Indian takeaway craving. Our only constructive feedback is that the onion bhaji batter could have been a little less stodgy and the lamb a little more tender. Otherwise great meals all round. Thank you Mehmood’s!

So placed a order online. Adhering to the covid rules, Got the meal a lamb balti a Ceylon garlic chilli chicken, garlic rice, mushroom rice a garlic naan, and chapatis, well what can I say, the lamb was so tuff it was impossible to eat, there was no mushrooms in the rice, there was no chilli in the garlic chilli chicken. The naan was undercooked and raw in the middle. The chapatis where rock hard. We phoned the restaurant to complain but the manager was incredibly rude, kept talking over me when I was explaining the problems, we spent £44 pound on a treat, but was badly let down. I will be taking this to the trading standards as I do not want anyone to spend their hard earned money on food that is substandard. The customer is always right and should be allowed to express when things are not as they should be. So be warned. I will be sharing this on Twitter, Instagram and all local social media platforms.

Booked at very short notice after being let down by nearby Crowwood Hotel , what an amazing place , table for 8 of us with no pressure to hurry up and leave the table, in fact no time limit even mentioned , food was amazing , staff lovely to serve us , I will definitely be spending more time and money in here from now on !

Visiting the Peterhead area for a couple of days with my wife , we fancied some Indian food We were recommended to visit the Bengal Spice in Mintlaw From the outside we weren’t expecting much So glad we were wrong Genuinely the best and tastiest curries we have had in a long time We have a couple of decent Indian restaurants we use in Dundee but this place knocks them for six Took us back to the days of Jacob/ Royal Oak/ Malabar , high praise indeed Well worth the visit if you are anywhere near

I've been here a few times since it opened but this was the first time for about a year. The food was very good but for a Saturday night the place was empty: no more than 2 tables being used at a time during the whole time we were there, although it did do a steady trade in carry-outs. Even although it was quiet the service was less than attentive. There were 2 waiters and someone who appeared to be the manager but who seemed to do very little. We were not made to feel welcome. The food was very good, not too spicy hot like I find with some restaurants. It's such a shame about the atmosphere and service and I wonder why it was so quiet.

All freshly cooked, service was excellent, I've eaten a lot of Indian food but this was genuine cooked fresh food, not rushed to finish, table attendance non intrusive, better than a takeaway trust me

I am normally a fan The Wee Delhi. But, on this occasion the food was awful. A Chicken Tikka Marsala. The chicken was quite nice , but the sauce was awful. It was like coconut soaked in tomato kectchup. It was so incredibly sweet ,much more akin to a sloppy desert rather than a Masala sauce. Not a hint of curry flavour. What a shame. I would be reluctant to buy another meal there. There are obviously no set ingredients to guarantee any dish. The wee Delhi special which I usually have , is meant to have green peppers ,more often than not , they not included in this dish.
