¡Decepcionado!

Enjoyed our evening here. The menu has some nice choices and the food was good. Big portions. Service was a little slow but it was extremely busy.

After eating burgers and fries for a long time an average Indian always craves for Indian food when he out touring he world. Okay if not all at least I go bonkers after a week or so and start googling for food joints catering Indian food. 'Namaste' at Bristol Place in Edinburgh was the result of one such search. Well by any means Indian food outside the Indian soil and sub continent is very expensive but that's the price I am willing to pay to satisfy my hunger pangs and craving for Indian curries on a foreign soil. The food here is amazing. The host if I am not wrong was from the Indian Sub Continent as well.

Came here as the queue was too big for our original choice, and it was the closest. We were very pleasantly surprised!! It was relatively busy, but not too busy, the staff were polite and helpful. The only thing we went wrong with was the naan bread that was filled with lamb, we thought we would try something different, and well we wish we had stuck with normal garlic and coriander, but that was our mistake, trying to be risky. It was lovely food, and had a lovely cocktail and starters.

Authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine made with rich and fresh ingredients. Delicious dining experience filled with new flavours and textures. Lovely ambiance and presentation of the dishes in copper bowls. Wonderful to have a Nepalese server to help us decide what dishes complement each other. Thank you. The menu also contains european and indian dishes if nepalese does not interest you. Highly recommend the dumplings (Mo-mo) and nepalese satay as starters. We shared several other signature dishes and all were amazing. Note: Online booking possible and they served us after 10 pm on a Sunday night! Thank you.

I love this restaurant! The food is superb! It's so tasty, not expensive and you can chose your hot-spice level. I find the staff friendly and always at hand to help you chose! We always order too much, but take the remainders with us for another feast the next night. The lamb jalfrezi is the best I have ever had! Can't wait to go back again!

This is the first negative review I've written, so I am not a complainer by nature. The food was very good, so, had the service been even passable, I would have given 4 stars, but it would have had to have been the best meal of my life (not even close) to get more than 3 stars. We had reservations, so it isn't like they were squeezing us in. We ordered promptly, but waited over 45 minutes for our meal. During that time, even though we were immediately next to the kitchen (hard to forget, since a couple of the waiters crashed into the back of my chair, no matter how I tried to shift it, every time they exited the kitchen, and never apologized), we barely had anyone check on whether we needed water, etc. We were never offered refills on our drinks. We finally asked if the food would be coming soon and it finally showed up. Either we had asked at just the right time, or it had been sitting back there, forgotten (which I suspect was the case). They didn't seem the least concerned, however. What was insult to injury, was that, in addition to the food being overpriced for the serving size, we were charged for the papadams that the waiter offered us as one would offer bread when we arrived - and he had suggested the quantity, which was twice what we needed. We didn't dispute this, simply because it was also an ordeal getting the bill and we wanted to leave before the night was over.

Spicy food even when we ordered mild - and - it was all delicious. The servings were plentiful (we did not have starters but did order 3 mains with rice, nan, raita and pickle and we had lots of food for 3)

I used to live in Nepal and eating here today was a wonderful experience - good authentic Nepalese food, great serving staff (friendly and attentive an helpful), lovely atmosphere with replicas of Bhaktapur's famous carved windows decorating the walls and Nepali music playing. Best of all though, the food - it speaks for itself and was totally authentic and delicious.

My wife is Nepali and I took my daughter, who had been working in Kathmandu, to Namaste for some authentic Nepali food. We got a good welcome and a seat near the window where I got a cold back. The restaurant was empty and while we were there only one other party arrived. I have to say I'm not surprised as the food was not authentic, the portions were small and the prices very high.We started with a plate of Momos - 6 for £6, and they were dry and bland rather than juicy and tasty. We followed this with two of the restaurant's specialities - a lamb dish and a vegetable dish. Both tasted the same, and the sauce they were in was sweet, and the mint paratha was more like a chapati and you could hardly taste the mint. The staff were very pleasant and if the food had been good I wouldn't have minded. When I paid my bill I told them what was wrong and they didn't apologise, merely saying that the regular chef was off and that this was a tourist area so I should expect tourist prices.I don't plan to go there again - there are far better Nepalese restaurants in Edinburgh, though they're not cheap either. If my experience is common I

We went there for lunch with a Living Social deal and they refused to give us the standard lunch menu, and only provided the a la carte menu. The Living Social deal didn't make this restriction, but the waiter told us the lunch menu was for 'customers!' Pretty funny since there was no one else there! He phoned his boss, who told me Living Social had made a mistake and I should take it up with them; he wouldn't honour the Living Social deal as it was written. We walked out, leaving the place as empty as when we arrived. Clearly they are only interested in the tourist trade and are quite happy to alienate locals and renege on agreements.

Newly opened and not as great as expected.Extremely slow table service, poor customer service and mediocre food. Food is also quite over-priced if considering the portion control.Cannot really comment on ambience as the restaurant was practically empty. Not a happy expereince and one we should not like to repeat. Our waiter (1 of 3) put our Debit Card through for payment after the meal, and returned the card advsind "thank you very much", we prepared to leave and a second waiter announced accross the restaurant that our card had been declined. In actual fact, the card had not been declined, the streamline machine used to process the card operates on the same line as the telephone and the telephone line was occupied by a member of staff. Having been embarrassingly accused and asked for cash, we shall not be returning to this restaurant - a very poor experience, a sadly lacking meal and not good value for money.Customer Service is non-existent

We have enjoyed many meals at the Ronaq both in Market Street and in Comely Bank, but I am afraid our experience on Sunday evening was terrible. My husband had the fish tikka and after eating we headed for the bus. On travelling back home he became really ill, burning and sickness. When we did manage to get home he was sick all night and most of Sunday. Don’t know what has happened to this restaurant but I definitely won’t return. I called the Manager on Monday to raise a complaint but it was as though he wasn’t interested. There are better places to eat in Edinburgh. Shocking.
