Went here for the first time on an Itison deal at £25 for two. Had a madri lager at £5.50 and a Diet Coke at £2.65 whilst we looked through the menu. Deal was 3 starters and 2 mains with rice and nann. We started with poppadoms and spiced onions as an extra at £4.95 and got a good portion. Ordered veg pakora, chicken chaat and desi fried chicken which came on a platter and was warm and tasty. Mains were lamb masala (which came with a supplement of £1.95) and chicken jalfrezi. Again food was warm and tasty and served with a warm plate which is always a bonus. Even had a second Madri. The toilets were spotless and service excellent. Very good experience. Only minor down sides were that there was too much oil with the jalfrezi and I don’t see the need for a supplement with the lamb. That said, well recommended.

If you're looking for a nice hearty Indian meal, definitely check out this location. We got fortunate enough to have the best waiter in the restaurant, Gaurav! He informed us with all the best things to eat on the menu and boy oh boy were we glad we trusted him! He told us to get this spicy onion dip and it was so delicious. It came with this crunchy chick pea cracker and I will forever dream of it. I recommend getting the butter chicken here! It was extremely saucy how I like it to dip the most delicious cheesy naan with. Gaurav really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He wasn't too overbearing and checked in exactly when we needed him. They say Europe has the best Indian food, coming from someone who lives in NYC, I fully attest to that. Ashoka is a must go to if you're in Glasgow.

1st time visiting this restaurant in Muirhead and we really enjoyed our food tonight. I had the Chicken Sharabi Masti which I believe was a special tonight, which was fantastic and I would come back just for this again, although I believe this isn’t on their normal menu, which is a shame. Well worth a visit and we will certainly be back again, Masti or not.

Very disappointing food. When your order gets delivered to the table within a couple of minutes you suspect not a lot of care has gone into it. Spices in one dish were uncooked and very harsh. Beef was tough and rubbery and raw strong cooking onions stirred through one curry. Maybe ok after 8 pints of beer but otherwise one to avoid

Was recommended by a friend. Was made to feel welcomed, not rushed into ordering drinks or food. Staff very attentive. Food was banging. Just a wee error... I ordered pilau rice and husband ordered fried rice and we got fried rice for us both, which was quite sticky. Would recommend to family and friends.

Trying a takeaway before using dining room, food cold upon arriving home, asked team member if food would be warm after it looked like it sat there a bit of time, he advised yes, cold as predicted, also option for dinner for 2 finished at 18:30 on a Friday and Saturday evening though menu doesn't advise this, really poor service, when contacted to advise this got a nasty reply back.

Brought up in Glasgow, Ashoka name is legendary and standards have always been high in all their establishments. I was looking forward to tasting their food again as locally and I extend local to Cumbernauld, the standard of Indian Food is no match for the City centre Indian restaurants…. Until now! Considering it was ordered to takeaway, all dishes were spot on, chicken tikka was generously portioned and lamb dish was tender with heat as described. The pakora was fresh as was the nan bread. Looking forward to trying more from their menu. Lots of new dishes to taste!

This was my first visit and apparently the restaurant had only opened a couple of weeks ago which explained the high quality decoration. Maybe not to everyone's taste but the dark wooden ceiling, a mirrored wall and tastefully decorated walls gave the restaurant a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. There was plenty of choices on the menu traditional and some house selections. I had a starter, main course, rice and naan. The starter was a very tasty chicken shaslik followed by a garlic chilli chicken described as the "hottest dish in the house", whilst it was very tasty it was very mild. Apparently should have asked for the "Saturday" version. This was the one negative aspect of this visit hence the 4 star rating. The naan was a generous size and probably ample for two people to share. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite the one negative aspect, described above, its certainly somewhere to visit if you're in the area. I hope to visit again.

Tried here as we were going to a theatre show nearby. The restaurant itself is a bit sparse looking and could do with some better décor, plus it was a bit on the chilly side. The staff were very friendly. The food was really good, fresh, flavoursome and hot, with a decent portion size, so no complaints there. The only downside was the toilets (male anyway). I'm glad I didn't go in before I ate. It was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned in a few days. It was 6pm on a Wednesday and not busy, so really no excuse. I found that pretty off-putting and probably wouldn't return because of that, which is a shame as the food was so good. Decent price too!

Rude staff, raciest behavior. Worst food I ever had. Wanted to try some Indian chats, the waiter behaved very rudely and taken the menu away saying "that's it". The dahivalla was extremely dry and salty. Panipoori was ok. Please avoid at any cost.
