Absolutely incredible food.❤️ Hands down best Indian food I've ever had. I had the okra vegetarian dish both the flavours and the texture were next level. So impressed by the taste, the quantity and the service. Worth a trip to Glasgow by itself 😂😍

Estoy sorprendido de que este lugar tiene tan buenas críticas. Tuvimos una comida para llevar de aquí durante los tiempos covid y estaba bien, aunque notablemente caro. Comimos aquí con numerosos amigos, todos los cuales son indios, y encontramos que es el restaurante indio más inauténtico en Glasgow. Para una porción de poppadoms, un pollo al curry básico y una porción de arroz basmati ya estás buscando £ 30, menos una bebida y panes, lo que lo llevaría a casi la marca de £ 50. El pollo se curry yo mismo y algunos de nuestros amigos pedidos eran 99% soso, salsa básica con alrededor de 3 piezas de pollo en ellos. Mis amigos de Keralan, con grandes esperanzas debido a que esto fue etiquetado como un "auténtico" restaurante del sur de la India, optaron por el curry de gambas de Keralan, y encontraron que era un plato diluido sin especias activas y un pobre intento de cocina auténtica. El servicio era inexistente y tomó unos 40 minutos para limpiar nuestros platos después de que todos terminamos de comer. Pudimos ver el atractivo de un auténtico restaurante del sur de la India, evitan las pakoras básicas y venden appam en lugar de naan, lo que da la impresión de que este lugar es "diferente". Quizás por eso rara vez se ve a ningún indio comiendo aquí, ya que nuestra impresión es que la cocina está orientada a un gusto occidental. Aguada, porciones pequeñas, precio caro, mal servicio. Evitar.

Food was quite ordinary in taste. Only the starter platter was good. Rest were not proper south Indian taste, especially dosa

The only restaurant I had a good late night experience in. The tables are far apart with plenty of spacing and calm, restful dining environment. The staff are exceptionally polite and kind. We showed up without reservations on Sun night and the manager kindly found us a spot. I stress the calm environment because it seems that for dinner time in Glasgow , most restaurants run on hyper speed to get you in and out

Food is fabulous and menu different from other surrounding Indian restaurants . Would definitely return and recommend. The restaurant doesn't sit on the ground floor and you have to take some steep stairs. Once in the building is very well lit with large windows. Staff are attentive and the menu has some interesting food to choose from.

Best South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Food is absolutely delicious and service is fantastic. And if you are gluten free, it’s a food heaven for you!

Llamé para una comida familiar anoche, fue refrescante ver un menú completamente del sur de la India, ha pasado un tiempo desde que he tenido este tipo particular de curry. Tenemos algunos panes y arroz para compartir, la dosa de papel era visualmente impresionante, y recomiendo el uttapam, tienen una textura encantadora. Para mi curry pedí el chettinad koli, estaba maravillosamente especiado con suficiente patada en términos de calor. El restaurante en sí estaba muy bien decorado y el personal era amable y servicial. Muy recomendable como lugar para comer en el centro de Glasgow.

Don't know what's happened here. Food seemed less good than the times I've been before. Atmosphere was empty, as was the place. Hmm.

This was the best Indian I've ever had. The spices and aromatics in the food were perfectly balanced and the quality of the meat was really really good. I had the lamb and there was no fatty bits at all on it and it was really tender. My boyfriend got the Chicken Dosa and I had such food envy. It was phenomenal...even though mine was really delicious too. The sauces that came with the poppadoms were all so nice too and again really well balanced flavours. The portion sizes were really good and the staff were lovely. This restaurant is entirely gluten free which is why we came and they are so allergy aware (I can't eat gluten or dairy) but there were no compromises here as a result. We will absolutely be back again.

Lovely meal with a great menu. A welcome change to the standard Indian menu. Excellent friendly service, and attention to detail right down to the spotless polished tables. Will be back.

The Gluten Free Glasgow & West of Scotland Facebook Group held their Winter Meetup in the restaurant on Sunday and we unanimously agreed that the food was superb. It was so great to be able to eat in an environment where everything was safe for us. We very much enjoyed our meals and the service was also excellent.Highly recommended.

As a coeliac I had been looking forward to visiting Dakhin for a long time and it did not disappoint! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, food was incredible and it was so nice not having to worry about cross contamination. Can’t wait to visit again!

We being South Indians visited Daakin with a lot of expectations Firstly vegetarian options were less but we ordered a starter and 2 mains The starter arrived in 15mins and was tasty - Kiraai Bhajji Then we waited for at least 1 hour for our mains to be served. We weren’t attended or updated about our order until we called for them after 30mins. Finally the order arrived just to be disappointing . The biryani was mushy and was watery at the bottom The paneer dosa was average but the chutney was tasteless without salt and was sour The Sambar also followed the trend Unsure if we were unlucky or this is the normal but it’s really unfortunate to pay 42£ for this disappointing meal we had. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends. In fact we had planned to order desserts but we were tired to order anymore due to the delayed service.

Excellent food. The whole menu is gluten free so it’s great for coeliacs. It’s South Indian cuisine so you’re not going to recognise the names of any of the dishes if you’re just familiar with standard Indian restaurants. There’s descriptions though so it’s fine. The food is absolutely delicious and doesn’t taste like gluten free food. Would definitely recommend

Presentable and clean restaurant, with nice views from the window seat. The toilets were also clean and presentable. Waiter told me their menu is entirely gluten-free which is great👍 I felt the food took a while to come, however; there was only one waiter on for this fairly busy lunchtime, and he was competent and professional throughout the entire time; always on the go due to the volume of customers. I ordered the Thali lunch; would recommend the okra dish. Felt the Thali lunch was overly carb-heavy e.g. rice, bread, potatoes (needed more fat and protein). The mango sorbet after the meal was lovely. Overall it was nice; mainly because of the great staff and nice setting, but afraid I am not inclined to rush back.

Luego fuimos por el cordero Mamsam dosa y el Mysore Chili Koli con el arroz de coco Thengai Annam y el Thosai Thattu 3 lo tipo pan. Gran variedad de excelentes platos. Sin embargo, toda la experiencia fue mejorada por el estándar de servicio al cliente. Muy atento durante toda la comida sin ser abrumado intrusivo. This resturant is highly overrated. The food lacks authenticity in terms of taste. I believe they have tuned there food considering Scottish taste palettes. This is a good strategy for building local customers but if someone wants to have an authentic South Indian food then this is not a recommended place.

Wee family dinner to celebrate sister in laws birthday. Food was very nice. We got a Dosa to share which was delicious and I had the Venchina Mamsam curry which was great. I would say for something that was considered reasonably hot on the menu, I didn't find it spicy at all. Overall 8/10. 🇬🇧

Was for a meal with my wife while visiting Glasgow for our 20th wedding anniversary. Service was brilliant and the food was absolutely brilliant. And it's all gluten free. Would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone with gluten allergy

Ik hou van Indiaas eten en koos voor dit restaurant in het centrum van Glasgow. Dakhin is gespecialiseerd in gerechten uit Zuid-India. Ik at een Mamsam Dosa. Dat was erg lekker en veel. Je moet wel een pittige trap op om bij het restaurant te komen maar dat is de moeite wel waard.

Mi jefa me llevó a cenar en Navidad y ella eligió el restaurante. Empezó con un delicioso plato de cordero picante que tenía un pequeño lado de ensalada. Fue genial, el cordero fue cocinado a la perfección para mí. Para el plato principal tuve un plato de pollo que tiene un sabor distintivo a jengibre. Una vez más el pollo era encantador, tuvimos un arroz que tenía un sabor a limón que iba bien con el pollo. Acompañado de una dosis de tres pies de largo, mucho más fácil en el estómago que el pan nan. Tomé helado para redondear una comida encantadora. El personal estaba en el balón, no demasiado atento, pero si necesitábamos asistencia era allí en un instante. Sin duda recomendaría.

It was lovely visiting Dahkin for an end of the year get-together . Even before getting there , I called staff to ask about parking, and they were really helpful on the phone. The food was simply delicious, and staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend. It is centrally located in Glasgow city centre with only drawbacks for me being no outside parking as expected. There is, however, paid parking close by.

My favourite indian in Glasgow. I have been bringing my family/friends and colleagues who all loved it. Will be back again next week. You need to pop in and try their DOSA you wont be disappointed.

What a great 100% gluten-free restaurant. Staff are lovely and accommodating when we bring our baby and toddler. The food is delicious and certainly different from other Indian restaurants we have been. Highly recommended.

My friend ordered a curry and can only be described as anemic chicken floating in watery (chinese) curry sauce. Really disappointing- as my dosa was nice. Also we booked a table and turned up and the owner said he didn't have space. Had to wait 20 mins for them to sort their stuff out. Eventually got us a table but at least 10 people wandered in with a booking in the meantime.

Personal increíblemente acogedor, ayudan con el orden y son muy agradables. Los camareros son gente muy divertida e incluso se ofrecieron a tomar nuestras fotos y cuidar nuestros abrigos! Comida y bebida increíble, por supuesto!

Tuvimos una comida fantástica en Dakhin candelabros anoche había 5 de nosotros y puedo recomendar este restaurante encarecidamente por la calidad de la comida y el servicio. El personal era genial cada plato era tan bueno como el otro no era caro y no stint en la calidad sin duda volvería bien vale la pena una visita

Terrific friendly service to go with the terrific tasty food. Third time we’ve eaten there, first time we’ve had the dosas, I had masala dosa, my husband had lamb. Beautiful!

This place deserves a 5 star in every category. Fantastic South Indian restaurant in Glasgow! They offer an incredible variety of dosas and other delicious dishes that really hit the spot. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is super friendly. A must-visit if you’re in the mood for authentic dosa and an ice-cold Kingfisher beer!

Great lunch menu options. I ate from the 3 course for £15 menu and it was fantastic. Perfectly flavoured food and really friendly service.

Looking for a good Indian restaurant on Google, I found Dakhin. If you’re looking for regular Indian cuisine btw, you should look further. Dakhin is a South Indian restaurant and its cuisine is different than what you would expect. We definitely did not regret eating here! The food was wonderful and very tasty, in our case a dosa, the waiters and owner were very kind and the whole atmosphere was very enjoyable. So go and give Dakhin a try, you’ll be thanking me later.

We had idli dipped in sambar and masala Dosa it was delicious and service and atmosphere was good, felt the menu is little pricey for Glasgow but it's worth it I think.

Mucho personal, pero nos sentamos durante siglos con los codos en nuestros platos vacíos y no nos ofrecieron bebidas adicionales ni café ni pudín. Sentí que nos habían sacado. Sé que es día de pago (30 / 08 / 24 ) pero nos habríamos quedado más tiempo. Tal vez la siguiente mesa sea la prioridad que entiendo. Tristemente no nos apresuraremos a regresar.

Wir wussten nicht was uns erwartet, aber beide Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte (Dosa, Biryani) waren vorzüglich. Wir würden alles nochmal bestellen. Dazu ein sehr freundlicher und zügiger Service, was will man mehr?

A truly beautiful experience eating the much loved masala dosa. We had one each and finished it all up. The service from the chappy from Bangalore studying at Caly was top-notch. Gluten Free Vegetarian easy peasy in Merchant City. ( A rarity in Glasgow )

Dakhin offer wide variety of South Indian Cuisine. Being from south India I think they got the spice and flavour just right! Idli Sambar is 5/5 outstanding. It's very rare to get good Hyderabad Biryani abroad, but Dakhin has got it right. Dakhin Staff are kind and has a good ambience to enjoy food. Its lil pricey and If you don't mind of it ..then yu must hit Dakhin to enjoy your food! .

First day in Glasgow on a holiday. Searched online, and based on reviews visited for dinner. The other reviews are endorsed by us also. Good ambience. Tasty food. Helpful and courteous staff. Enjoyed the south Indian vegetarian meal. ( On first floor. Doorway opp - Beer cafe/ Metropolitan )

Food was absolutely amazing but the service provided was the worst I’ve experienced, especially considering this place gets high reviews from multiple sites. The manager and staff seemed racist/biased, never came by our table once food was delivered and I had to get up multiple times to find the wait staff to order more items. Half our dishes we ordered were forgotten about and we had to keep reminding/asking the staff about our food. We were planning to go back for dinner again but the service definitely doesn’t outweigh the food quality.

The entire menu is gluten free. This is the first "normal" restaurant we've ever found where a person with Celiac can order ANYthing on the menu. The service is equally terrific! We dined here two of the three nights we were in Glasgow. Rare for us to ever repeat a restaurant when on vacation but this place is exceptional!

Delicious, 100% gluten free and nut free so instead of thinking "what can I have" you can choose anything and be safe. Really nice people, delicious food, been years since I've had gulab jamun so that was amazing

Great South Indian food outside India. Our family was there for dinner and all the food ordered was top notch. We were so happy that we even packed lunch for our Loch Ness trip for the next day. Thank you to all the waiters who were all smiles and did a great service.

My sister booked here for a meal after a day touring round Glasgow. Place was spotless with very friendly staff and food was first rate. I usually end up eating at Northern region places and like a hot spiced dish so always find southern region a refreshing change, especially when it's as well cooked and presented as this. I have to give it to Glasgow their quality Indian food game is much stronger than Manchester.

We usually visit with small groups but most recently with a large group. We, quite rightly, were asked to order ahead. The restaurant was very busy, but we felt well looked after by the staff, and the food was delicious as usual! There is something for everyone - vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes. I cannot recommend this place enough.

A 100% gluten and nut free restaurant. Such a treat ! Good food though appams and dosas will taste even better if served hot. Was super delighted to find gluten free gulab jamun. As I am a celiac, I could not eat them for almost 20 years since my diagnosis. Hence it was a real treat. The owner has origins in Punjab. Must try their Punjabi food in their other near by restaurant called Dhaba.

The waiter (i think the name was Prafull) was amazing, i recommend to ask for him when you will go there, he is really kind and helpful!!!

Absolutely fantastic! The services was amazing. We had guests from the States with us, they had not tried Indian before. The staff helped them choose their meals making them feel very comfortable. The overall experience was perfect.

We had a wonderful evening with 26 colleagues from The Netherlands visiting a conference in Glasgow. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was really nice. We had a nice spot in the restaurant, so we could easily mingle and catch up with each other. Can highly recommend.

An excellent South Asian restaurant. Totally Gluten and nut free. We were welcomed very warmly and given a lovely window table. Menu is extensive and everything was very appealing. Poppadums and pickles were excellent. Starters were fine. The spinach and onia bhaji was particularly good, the haddock croquetas were ok, nothing special. Both starters would have benefited from a sauce. Main courses were the stars of the show. My wife had had a lovely lamb dish in a rich sauce, and I had the Chicken Dosa, which was spectacular, although a little salty. Drinks were good, and service was excellent.
