The best restaurants serving Indian food in Yorkshire and The Humber

We originally planned to dine at Jodphur Indian Restaurant on Kirkstall Road with the family, but since they were fully booked, we decided to try Punjabi Haven instead. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Food: We started with a Mixed Grill, which lacked flavour and was surprisingly bland. The Tandoori Prawns were coated in an overwhelming amount of dry masala, masking the actual taste of the prawns. For the main course, the Butter Chicken was excessively sweet, the Kadai Chicken was too oily, and the Punjabi Lamb lacked the bold, spicy kick you’d expect from a dish carrying the Punjabi name. Ambiance & Location: The restaurant’s location is convenient, but the ambiance didn’t particularly stand out. It lacked the warmth and vibrant atmosphere typically associated with Punjabi dining. Service: Service was average, with no major delays, but nothing exceptional either. The staff were polite, though not especially engaging or attentive. In all, Punjabi Haven has a long way to go if it wants to live up to its name. The flavours and experience simply didn’t reflect authentic Punjabi cuisine. So much so, that my daughters chose to skip dessert there and instead headed to Heavenly Desserts in Headingley to salvage the evening.

Omg! Saw this when walking back to my hotel. A brilliant fusion between Indian street food and British classics. The food, the taste and the presentation is amazing. I only wish it was closer to me. Anytime I come to Sheffield I will definitely be coming here. And customer service from the staff is great too!

Lovely, tasty food, nice and welcoming and helpful, very appealing to the eyes and the smell is amazing… would recommend.

Did not regret trying Royal spice take away , probably one of the best Indian meals I have had , will be ordering again soon , and not expensive prices either ,

We went as a family of 7 on a Sunday night, and really enjoyed the experience. The food was fantastic all around, the Punjabi lamb despite being one of the pricier menu options was amazing, It came recommended by the waiter on an earlier visit a few months previously. Staff were warm and friendly, great service. Highly recommended we will be back soon.

Food was amazing, hot, fresh and packed with flavour the dastaan chili chicken starter was amazing and may have been the spiciest item on the menu. We will definitely return

Having eaten here many times before and always happy, my son asked if we could do a takeaway. We collected, two starters, three curries two naan and two rice £84 !! Not be doing it again, asked about poppadoms £5 for 2 !! 🤣. Very expensive takeaway ☹

They ask how hot on the spice scale, 1-10, I chose 6, but with give 10 out 10 for a wonderful taste experience. Simply fab.

We had takeaway tonight and the whole experience was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was fantastic. could not ask for more.

First time visiting here with friends that are regulars but we'll be back

Excellent menu and variety of dishes. Having visited many Indian restaurants across the country Spice Culture can be rated on par with the best. Pratham who helped us with the dishes was knowledgeable and very customer friendly. He is an asset to this restaurant

The food is absolutely amazing, so fresh and you can actually taste the different flavours , we will definitely be returning. The staff are lovely and the service was excellent
