3/8/25 another great trip to this restaurant. Today we were three adults and a child and a baby in a pram. We had so many items. Samosa, aloo burtha, prawns, papadum, tandoori broccoli and more. Then we had lamb saag, and a chicken dish that were both stellar. I tried a virgin mojito and it was just good. Maybe I was missing the rum? Lovely professional staff and we had a wonderful dinner Went here tonight for dinner. We were three adults and one toddler. The staff were super friendly and professional. We ordered samosas, butter naan, rice, shrimp curry, lamb madras and aloo goobi. All were very good. The mango madness was a delicious virgin drink. We enjoyed the dinner and skipped dessert since we were full. The aloo was spicy as should be and very spicy hot. The shrimp had a wonderful flavor. Our friends live local and will be coming back and us too when in town!

Always amazing service, with the staff being so accommodating with all our requests with being in a large group. They never rush us and allow us to enjoy the evening in a relaxed environment….. Food is always amazing even with a group of 20/24 people Thank you

No fluke, this is the best Indian restaurant in Leeds on trip advisor. Amazing food and great service 👌. I was seated upstairs on the 1st floor 😀. Ordered the Lamb, which was so tasty, poppadoms come in a basket as opposed to individual. Plus lovely rice and bread, too.

I went to Dastaan twice in two nights it was SOOOOO GOOOOOD. The second visit was with a curry aficionado and he agreed with me that it beats every restaurant in Bradford hands down. If you go you MUST TRY the lamb chop starter and the chicken tandoori starter, both remarkably well cooked, marinated and flavoured, nothing will disappoint, it's a little more expensive than your regular curry shop, but it's worth every penny.

We had a fantastic 40th birthday lunch at Dastaan yesterday. The food was delicious, freshly prepared & plentiful! The staff were excellent & very obliging. Tarun the manager was very helpful from the stage of planning to the event. Our family & friends all enjoyed themselves. We will definitely be returning to eat there again. Thank you Dastaan!

Absolutely love this place. I’ve been *many times over the past couple of years and have never walked out disappointed or hungry. I’ve basically stopped going anywhere else for curries (though honestly I order the biryani half the time, sometimes for the pageantry but always for the taste). A few weeks ago, I took a friend for her birthday and she’s now a fan too. It’s surprisingly difficult to find excellent south Asian food with ambience and they manage both beautifully. A huge thank you to the incredibly wonderful team for their courteous and competent service. See you all soon!

Food quality, preparation and presentation is of a high standard and really nice. For me though the pickle tray starter could have more items and relishes and the lamb chop starter would be much more preferable if it is not completely coated in sauce so you cannot see the meat - have the spice and flavour but can I see what I am eating please ! Service is nicely attentive and the atmosphere had a busy welcoming vibe.

Very welcoming staff. We ordered the chicken methi which was very flavoursome. Garlic naan and perfectly made saffron rice. Food was very nice and well prepared. Restaurant itself was very spacious and comfortable. Very satisfying experience, would come back

It's really hard to impress an Indian in a Indian restaurant, coz to them, none of the Indian restaurants tastes native. This one is an exception, it was fantastic. Both in terms of taste and quality. Keep up the great work 👍

I live in Manchester and would happily drive to Leeds to have dinner here regularly. My partner and I ordered online and we were so pleased with what we received. Most Indian restaurants we’ve visited seem to put food colouring and excess sugar in their dishes. Dastaan does not. Everything we had was delicious and clearly prepared with a lot of care.

Just loved it, one of the best North Indian food I had. The food was amazing. We ordered Dastaan Chilli chicken, dahi puri, tandoori chicken tikka as starters, butter roti, garlic naan, methi chicken and chicken tikka Biriyani. All of them were amazing and my favorite was the Biryani. We had Fruity falooda with Basundi. This is highly recommended. I will visit again. The ambience nice and the staff were nice. Parking could be a bit challenging during busy times.

Probably one of the best curries I’ve had outside of Bradford. Incredibly well presented and tasted fantastic Great menu with some different choices to the norm.

I love this place because the people are so friendly and respectful. They serve impeccable meals for everyone. They have a wide range of food and drinks. I always come here and I wish that I could go there every day 👍

Very pleased to have discovered this restaurant. Very authentic Indian food. I could not find fault with the food. The staff are very polite and friendly, very willing to explain the menu and help with any requirements. There is a very good Gluten free selection. It has a nice ambience and is a pleasant place to be. I would definitely visit here again and would highly recommend a visit.

It was what I expected, a nice atmosphere and really great service, I think it is evident here that they use quality ingredients . However I have eaten at less quality and cheaper establishments and had better tasting curry. So if you’re going to try find the best curry, this isn’t the place. But if you’re wanting a lovely meal out for a special occasion then go here. Please also consider not automatically adding service charge to the bill. It’s incredibly awkward to ask for this to be removed and frankly very rude to assume people will automatically tip.

Can't fault the food, it was all great even with having to serve a table of 15 people. The quality of service from the staff was also amazing and looking forward to visiting again.

Visited as a group of 13 work colleagues. We were so well looked after from the friendly reception, throughout the detailed discussion on the menu, the demonstration of cooking to the amazing food. We had the tasting menu of 5 courses which was simply excellent. I could not recommend highly enough.

We’ve been twice, and both times have been excellent. They have really inventive vegan dishes on a separate menu so it makes it super easy to order. The tandoori broccoli is maybe one of the best starters I’ve ever had. The service is great; really friendly, helpful and informative.

An amazing new restaurant in Leeds and absolutely worth visiting! We had been there for a group party and everyone loved the food, service and the ambience of the restaurant. Very lively atmosphere and supportive kind staff to help. Food was delicious and it was absolutely value for money. The additional touch of having an on-site henna artist at the restaurant was like cherry on the cake. It added a festive touch to our Diwali celebrations. Dastaan is the only solid place to go and enjoy, considering quality of food and the best service. We visit every 2-3 weeks with two children and always had the best experience. Staff is always friendly, never delay on food, always delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough. Our top picks are: spinach and kale bhaji, lamb chop, nalli nihari, prawn starter, truffle naan, pistachio kulfi, mango lassi. Thanks Dastaan team. ❤️

Wonderful meal for partners birthday

Deepak was tremendously informed about the menu, including the mix of spices used to temper the oil, & why the beetroot desert was worth trying. I mentioned I’ve used the (excellent) book of recipes they have published & he clearly knew its contents very well. Oh, and as usual the food tasted amazing and was piping hot.

We went for a meal here on Sunday, and wow it was just incredible. We have been here a few times now, it isn’t very close by to us but it is well worth the drive. The service is always fantastic but the food is unbelievable. We have never not enjoyed any of the dishes!

There was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and a warm welcome when we arrived. A mixture of ages and group sizes; couples, families and larger parties. The service was spot on, friendly and informative staff. Fabulous food! All in all, a really wonderful evening!

The food is not your usual indian menu. It is from different regions of home style cooked meals from amazing chefs. I travelled down from Scotland to leeds and booked this restuarant before leaving. I will go back there again when down here again. This restuarant is not to be missed. AMAZING FOOD. Thanks to all staff for a fubulous taste of home style cooked food.

Great quality food, very good value for money, the staff were so lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. The manager couldn’t have ran over to me faster to give me extra napkins from the other side of the restaurant when I spilt my mango lassi down myself😂 really nice atmosphere, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and their food. I would particularly recommend the vegetable samosas, the spicy chilli chicken starter, the blue cheese naan and the mango lassi. The bill came to £130 for the 3 of us with 3 starters, 3 mains, 4 naans, rice and 2 drinks each, I found this to be very good for a restaurant of this calibre. All the staff had such big smiles on their faces and were so welcoming. Thank you Dastaan!💙🙏🏼

We organised a family birthday event and were extremely happy with the service received from Dastaan staff. They were flexible and catered for our specific food requirements, staff were extremely professional and pleasant, the food was delicious and restaurant itself very clean. Fish was good. The lamb a little too watery for my liking. Some others who had the starters. The beetroot one was a bit raw inside. Food looks great in presentation but not quite the taste it should deliver. Rather pricey as well.

We heard the reviews about Daastan and it didn't disappoint. It was spotlessly clean. Little touches like air freshener being discreetly sprayed in the entrance were a nice touch. The service was really attentive and the food was great.

Heard a lot of good things about this place and the pictures on Instagram look amazing. We had very high expectations!! We were absolutely not disappointed!! The food was tasty and the service excellent. We'd recommend the tandoori broccoli which is on the starter menu and I had the lamb shank which was delicious and not too spicy. This place is so good I got home and started looking at the menu for what I'm having next time. See you soon!!

Service was excellent, they remembered us visiting from last year and made sure my nephews food was nut and gluten free as he's allergic to them, food was lovely as always and arrived very quickly, one of my fave restaurants in Leeds!

Lovely food and experience. We felt the food was authentic Indian food. We loved the starters and the light naan. The chickpea curry could've had more spice but it wasn't bad. Will certainly be returning.

2nd visit to Dastaan & probably my last I Booked a table for 8pm for 2 people, service was very poor there was a party upstairs & they seemed to be a big lack of staff for the restaurant. We ordered some drinks & starters which arrived in good time but the mains seemed to take forever to arrive, when they did arrive it was 9.20pm. The waiter kept making excuses about the biryani taking longer to cook, but no apologies at all. They were quick however to hand me my bill, it's put me off dining here again. Yes the food is great but bad service let's it down

An amazing dinner whereby the staff gave excellent recommendations of authentic Indian dishes, namely the puri and samosa chat to start, and then chicken chettinad for the main. The service was wonderful and the food utterly delicious! THE BEST MANGO LASSI EVER!!!! 🥭

Quite possibly the best curry I've ever had. All the dishes we've had are wondeful, some can be quite spicy but all are so tasty. I'm still dreaming about that lamb!

The restaurant is nice and is in a good location however how is 3 prawns for £12.50 acceptable. When i can buy a full case for £10 from Costco. Daylight robbery in my opinion.

Love it! This is one of my fav places in Leeds. Food is always teasty and serve in amazing way. Polite staff and great atmosphere!

The taste of the food is fantastic as always however the value for money isn’t that good sadly. When the restaurant first opened it was said that there was not much meat in the curries, that seemed to improve but sadly it has now slipped back: we had 5 pieces of chicken in one curry and 5 pieces of lamb in the other which was a shame.

We came for a late Sunday lunch and we are so pleased we did. The food was amazing; finest flavours presented in a polished style with more than a nod to desi spice levels. Friendly service in a clean and stylish restaurant.

Arguably one of the best Asian restaurants in Leeds. The food choices are simple but you get really good portions. The waiters know their stuff and it's very friendly.
