Bengal Lounge Wetherby in Leeds

Once again, another perfect night at the Bengal Lounge. Food as per usual was amazing. Been coming here for quite a few years and it's always consistently fantastic. Best Indian/Bangladeshi food in the area and maybe even further afield. If you haven't tried it here yet, you should. You won't regret it!

Outstanding! We went for a family meal for my partners 50th and the whole experience was faultless. They allowed me to go in when the restaurant was shut to set up balloons etc. The service and food were incredible on the night and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you for a wonderful evening. 😁

Pleasant inside and bigger than it looks from outside. Good service, good food, spicy if you want it. Good value. No charge for bring own bottle.

The staff are absolutely lovely and the food, well, it’s hard to describe how beautiful it is. We’ve never had anything other than wow-factor dishes from Bengal Lounge 🙏🏽🍛🥰

Just had the best delivered takeaway meal I’ve had for a long long time. The food was piping hot and tastiest chicken tikka. Will definitely return for a takeaway and recommend to anyone.

Absolutely the best Indian meal we've ever had! We live near London and have eaten in Brick Lane and a fair few others that are supposed to be top notch...But weren't!! If you live close by, you're the lucky ones!! If you're passing through or on holiday, just visit this restaurant!!! 👌 We will definitely be back!!! 👍

Picked up a takeaway, the server recommended a dish and discussed spice levels (8/10) Tarka dhall and paratha all excellent also. Gave me some tips for cooking dhall at home also

Booked and I’m glad we did the place was buzzing at 6.30 on a Thursday night. Prawn Purée, Sheek kebab, for starters . Peshwari Naan, chipati .to accompany our main course , all cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit, staff were very attentive but not intrusive. Highly Recommend

We have been here for a small holiday in York, but stay in the hotel at Wetherby for 3 days. We searched from Google and recommended this restaurant for the best Indian food. No wonder with those reviews. We came here for 2 days, so I would like to recommend who likes Indian food to come to this restaurant, you will definitely not be disappointed. Great food, good price, friendly staff and very delicious.

Just lovely. Great food. Good service. Booked for 4 of us on a Saturday night at 7pm and glad we did. The restaurant was full and buzzing. That didn't impact on service which was quick, efficient, really pleasant and polite. The restaurant isn't licenced but you can bring your own drink and there are no corkage charges. Poppadoms and pickles were, well, poppadoms and pickles. For main course all 4 of us had lamb dishes, a biryani, two karahis and I had the Syadpur Special. Beautifully spiced, just enough heat for me (I usually like it hot, this was quite mild for me but I could still feel it a bit).  We had a garlic naan, a cheese and garlic naan and coconut rice accompaniments. Everyone commented on how much we enjoyed it, and that there was plenty of tender lamb pieces in the dishes. Great value at £65 total. No hesitation in giving a 5* review for the Bengal Lounge.

Service was great. Food was decent and reasonably priced. They accommodated us a party of 10 and kids got free ice cream after dinner.

This is our Sunday treat out. we often come here for the special as it's great value for money, and the food is excellent, the service is fantastic and bring your own beer is the way forward as you get to drink just what you like. We will be back soon.

Very disappointed in our take away tandoori chicken this evening. Think it had been sitting there since lunchtime!! The naan was like cardboard!! Vegetable curry was fresh and tasty

Meh. We ordered a takeaway and took quite a long time to arrive and was a bit average to be honest. The paneer masala tasted quite bizarre, odd flavoured sauce.

As ever the food here really is exceptional, the service prompt and friendly. Hands down the best in Wetherby and the surrounding area!

We popped in because we suddenly fancied a takeaway. It was so good, that from now on, this will be our go-to local Indian restaurant . Everything about the Bengal Lounge is quality. Nice place, friendly and courteous staff. An easy-to -navigate menu and we quickly opted for the set menu for two. Absolutely delicious, generous portions, plenty of pickles and enough for us to pop into the fridge for another dinner. Highly recommended.

Arrived at 10pm, 1 hour before closure but were greeted with hostility and rushed to order our meal as the restaurant was very quiet. The meal was delicious but sevice definitely affected overall experience

The food is amazing and comes out quickly but not too quick where you feel rushed, the service is great and all the staff are friendly, they do not serve any alcohol but all you to bring your own to drink.

Food was pretty average. Curry was served with ice berg lettuce over it. Price was ok. If I visit Wetherby again I would look for an alternative.

Been here a number of times now and the food is always amazing and a good price as well - £20 for a starter, main and rice/naan. They also take card which I see as a big bonus for a curry house. Highly recommend 👌

25/11/23 Sadly, this place has gone downhill rapidly. See below it used to be the best curry in Wetherby, no longer. Ordered Chicken tikka as a main, see photograph, £8, ended up with a very small. Very watery portion of chicken, with to tikka taste at all .. 0/5 Lamb Karahi, which used to be so good now, is an ok ish generic bland curry 1/5 as it's not a karahi My sons butter chicken was OK, although he left quite a bit of it 3/5 Food turned up 20 minutes late I cannot recommend this place any more ************ Ordered food for 6:30 as we had friends, turned up 50 mins early. FFS Food OK, ish .. they were obviously busy ... down to an overall 3, this occasion a 2 .. not great .. ****** By far the best Indian food in Wetherby, food always fresh and tasty, it's Wetherby so it's not cheap, but I don't mind paying for great quality.

Usually love this restaurant, have used for several years, the last few times that I have ordered I have noticed a decline in service and quality. Tonight was the worst I’ve had, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to be delivered, it was all freezing cold, the food was not to the standard it has been previously and was not in the least bit enjoyable. Having giving this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but sadly it has progressively gotten worse. I will not be using again.

Food was on point and the staff were very nice and polite they made us feel welcomed. I would recommend this place highly best curry house in Yorkshire.

Tonight was my second visit here, and for good reason, the first being earlier in the summer. The food came quickly and was exceptional. Tasty fresh and filling. The staff were very attentive in making sure our expectations were met and our visit was as pleasant as could be. Meals and desserts for 4 adults, £20 per head, extremely good value. 1st visit for dining in at Bengal Lounge. Greeted by staff on entering then shown to our table. Quiet when we arrived but a few more customers soon arrived. Given meus to decide on our choices, very little customer service, felt they didnt want us there. Staff only made contact when taking our order, then when we asked for our bill. Food was very nice, praise to the chef, service and atmosphere was poor. Even when i praised on there recent awards i was met with a disgruntled thanks. When we paid the bill , not even a thank you, hope everything was to your satisfaction, hopefully see you again soon. Shame about front of house service. Think we'll stick to Bengal Brasserie.

No disabled access or disabled toilet. Good food. Good value. However, two of our party had rumbling tummies overnight.

Best Indian restaurant for miles around i will not go anywhere else , the food is delicious very authentic , the price is reasonable and the staff are great really friendly
