Excellent friendly service. Very clean. A little cramped but understandable as it’s very busy.Good atmosphere & food.

Outstanding quality food, excellent service and a wonderful warm atmosphere. The staff were attentive without being overly so. The food was simply exquisite and I couldn’t rate it any higher.I live in an area with many takeaways and restaurants. but this was another level.I will be visiting again and advising all my friends, that this restaurant is a must.

Absolutely fabulous food. All was impeccable and staff were so friendly. Highly recommend. I had the tandoori king prawn padina Kahari and it was fabulous never had anything like it.

I have visited this wonderful Indian restaurant many times. The standard of the food is wonderful. The service polite and welcoming. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys good Indian cuisine.

We always receive a friendly welcome and the best curry in the area. The Syedpur Special is our favourite, highly recommended.

The best king prawn puri I have had very well constructed with lots of flavours coming through the main dish chicken syedpur special is just as good i travel around the country on a weekly basis and try different takeaway this is possibly one of the best you will not be disappointed

Was travelling through on the motorway and wanted some good food, this place didn’t disappoint. So good, would recommend!

First meal out as a family and we decided to go for a curry. Never been to Bengal Lounge before so not sure what to expect. Starters, mains and sides were an absolute delight, in fact my son said the chicken tikka chat was the best starter he had ever eaten. Was just a lovely meal in a lovely restaurant with 2 waiters who couldn't do enough for us..we will definitely be back

Visited yesterday as a family of 5 , ages ranging from mid 60's to 5 yrs . All tastes and choices catered for . Very welcoming and tables all at social distance , we felt very safe and comfortable. The food as always was very tasty , hot and looked appetising . Great interaction from all staff members . Very happy to be able to once again eat inside one of our favourite restaurants .

We have ordered a take away meal on several occasions and the food is always delicious. They use fresh produce including fresh chicken in the dishes. We have found a gem and will definately return. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant was immaculate.

After booking into another Indian we stumbled across this one by mistake with a similar name. It wasn’t until after we’d ordered that we realised we were in the wrong restaurant!! Not knowing it was BYO alcohol my partner nipped over to M&S to get some beers & saw the Indian we should have been in, which apparently looked much posher !! Anyway we were not to be disappointed!! We had a mixed platter stater which was probably once if the nicest ones I’d ever had ! The onion bhaji was devine. The mains too were delicious & I wish I could have taken a bag full off nan breads home to freeze they were amazing. Without a doubt one of the best mistakes I’ve made and one if the nicest Indian meals I’ve had. The staff were very efficient, attentive and friendly. Thank you. Highly recommended amazing food, without the cost of expensive bar prices. Would definitely ho back if I visit the area again.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The staff were friendly and accommodating and we felt safe in terms of the COVID safety measures. The food was all hot and delicious and good sized portions. The menu is very reasonably priced and we like the fact you can take your own alcohol. Thank you, would definitely recommend!

Another great meal tonight - can’t recommend the Lounge highly enough for its delicious (and very reasonably priced) dishes from the chef’s specials and the best peshwary naan straight from the oven. Yum 😋

Absolutely loved our meal and service was brilliant, I highly recommend this restaurant. We opted for ginger chilli and a chefs special dish and it was faultless. The added bonus was we got to bring our own drinks too!

I’ve eaten at the Bengal Lounge many many times since they opened. The service has always been beyond impeccable. So friendly and attentive. I’ve never had a complaint when eating in or taking out. Visited this Restaurant on Thursday night afyer reading positive reviews. Food was served quickly and very tasty. Take your own alcohol is an added bonus as restaurants often hike drink prices up. Atmosphere was very good. Recommended.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Whetherby. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Whetherby.

Best Indian food in Wetherby!! Had a takeaway on Monday, everything superb. Beautiful mixed veggie starter, light batter and fresh ingredients. Currys both amazing, my Sata Piaza (madras hot) was perfect. Not sure if new chef now (food not quite as good in lockdown??). Will definitely be back very soon!!

I have just tried this restaurant for the first time ( recommended by fiends) and my partner and i had one of the best Indian meals we have had. I would not hessitate to recommend.

This place used to be our favourite restaurant and takeaway in Wetherby, even back when it was Jaflong. However, it has recently gone down hill. We visited during the 'Eat out to help out' scheme and although the food was nice, the chap who greeted us claimed we weren't on the reservation list despite my wife ringing the day before and booking a table. He claimed he could "squeeze us in" which he did - right by the bar area where it was cramped and all the staff decided to congregate and talk/laugh in their own language. Only one guy was wearing a mask which doesn't really phase me but he had it on his chin. Kind of defeats the object.We then decided to give it another go last night but as a take away. We ordered 2 Makhanis with rice and a naan. Unfortunately, I've not had a take away this bad in a long time. The Makhani used to be so nice from here but this time the cheese was just a hard skin and the chicken tasted like cheap strips instead of the usual chunks of chicken that they used to make it with. The rice and naan were good but unfortunately we were no longer in the mood. We didn't bother ringing up to complain as when my wife initially rang the order in, the staff member was rude to her so I thought it was pointless. Definitely won't be going back for a while.

Tenía cebolla bhaji, poppadom, pollo Korma, pan naan, patatas fritas y helado. Todo estaba muy sabroso, especialmente el Korma.El tamaño de las porciones es muy generoso, luchó para terminar todo, pero definitivamente lo recomendaría. Servicio muy amable y no demasiado compra. Llamamos ad hock con suerte para conseguir una mesa en el último minuto. Dios mío, no nos decepcionó. había muerto y me había ido al paraíso del curry. Absolutamente excepcional, el MEJOR pollo con mantequilla que he probado en mi vida. El arroz con champiñones era divino al igual que el peshwari naan. La barcaza de cebolla era hermosa. Los nietos comieron nuggets y patatas fritas, probé los nuggets y eran simplemente un pollo encantador, realmente bueno. no grasoso. Prueba este lugar, gente genuinamente amable, nada fue un problema, volveré, el único inconveniente es que no está cerca de donde vivo, es posible que deba considerar mudarse. Fue una comida deliciosa.

Verdaderamente, una de las peores comidas para llevar que hemos tenido, comida fría que parecía haber sido recalentada. Pedí un pollo con mantequilla y parecía que las sobras de alguien tenían una salsa diferente encima. El comienzo mixto fue solo pollo rebozado rojo brillante. Nunca más.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and airy - being a 'conservatory' style. We had a window seat and enjoyed a very pleasant and tasty meal. The staff were attentive and even offered us a complimentary drink at the completion of our meal. The food tastes fresh and is more interesting than just a stew as in older style Indian restaurants. My youngest even started eating chicken pakora which is a minor victory! We shall eat there again!

Very average food, fizzy drinks were out of 2 litre bottles not out of a pump ( was flat) owner spent the whole time in the restaurant sat behind the till watching films on his iPad with loud volume.. I wouldn’t rush back.

Takeaway tonight was excellent, all starters (mixed kebabs) and main courses were delicious, Chicken Tikka pathia, Chicken Bhuna and Chicken Korma I highly recommend the Bengal Lounge after trying a couple of other places nearby. We will definitely order again, living locally for a few more weeks and when we return to our house in Harrogate we will still return for our weekly curry as there is no where in my opinion that comes close for a quality curry.

Ordered a take away - per the title, very close to bringing a tear to your eye, so it better be good! It arrived right as discussed - good. Unfortunately, some dishes were cold, but easily fixed (but I do not expect that at this price!). Main courses were brilliant, so I would go there again

Not had a bad meal here, everything freshly cooked to order and the absence of pre-prepared bought-in sauces is noticeable and welcome. Need to bring your own drink but not a great imposition and you have a pleasant surprise when the bill arrives!

Work colleague and I were staying in hotel nearby so popped into Wetherby, and tried the Bangal Lounge. So glad we did, really good food, and great service. The Chicken Tikka Cheese Naan bread was a new one on me, so had to try it, very tasty it was too as was my Chicken pathia, mushroom rice and sag panir. When back up this way with work know where I’ll be having my evening meals in future.

Firstly cannot fault the food it was really good. Couple things let it down. We weren't aware it was not licenced so ordered cokes but at £2.50 each was bit steep for cola from a bottle but suppose that's how they make money.

I’ve been here quite a few times as part of a big group of colleagues. The service is always friendly and quick considering our group is 15+. The best curry I’ve had in the area so definitely worth a go.

I usually come to this place any chance I get. As per usual, the food is always top notch. Always greeted by extremely friendly staff who always make you feel most welcome. The fact that you can bring your own alcohol is a major plus. The quality of food is second to none, with the prices being more than reasonable. I'd say it won't be long until our next visit. If you like Indian/Bangladeshi food, get yourself to this place. You won't regret it!

Takeaway meal for three. Starters, mains and extras. All the food was very nice except for one main dish Lamb Bengal Exotic which was very poor. The lamb in it was not fresh - and well over cooked. The King prawn puree was superb.
