"I recently dined at Indian Pakwaan in Leeds, and it was a truly delightful experience! Their mocktails were absolutely outstanding — the Cucumber Kiwi Cooler and the Flavoured Mojito were top-class and refreshing. For starters, I tried their street food options like Pani Puri and Dahi Puri, which transported me straight to India with their authentic flavors. For mains, the Butter Chicken and Chicken Kolhapuri were exceptional and are absolute must-tries. Alongside the amazing food, the service was impeccable. The two ladies serving us were attentive and friendly, and the gentleman, who I believe is the manager, was very talkative and hospitable. He suggested some great dishes for us to try and checked in regularly to ensure everything was perfect. A big thank you to the chefs as well for creating such delicious and authentic dishes. The warm ambiance and excellent service make this a perfect place for family dining. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Indian Pakwaan to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable Indian dining experience!"

Response to owner: * I am complaining because we were told that we CANNOT order from the a la carte menu as we are a big group. We were given ONLY the Christmas menu. We asked for the a la carte menu from your staff members as we didn't want to order a 4 course dinner. In response we were told we are NOT ALLOWED to order anything other than the 4 course dinner. It was not possible for us to go to a different place with such a large group without reservation. So we were literally left with no other choice than order the 4 course menu. This happened yesterday (20 Dec 2024) - please check with your staff members why they FORCED us to order the 4 course meal. If you have a rule that during Christmas period big groups MUST order a 4 course (which from your response, doesn't seem to be the case) it should be mentioned on your website AND/OR when a reservation is made. * *original review* The food was tasty and the service was OK. The reason for my low score is we were a group of 14 and were told we can only order the 4 course Christmas menu (i.e. not from the a la carte menu) as we were a big group. This costed us £30 / person without drinks whereas if we ordered from the a la carte menu, people could have ordered according to their appetite (and based on what they can comfortably afford) and possibly paid much less. Since this message was not on their website or not told us during booking the table, it didn't seem fair. There were students in our group paying out of pocket - it was not a nice experience.

Wow!! Amazing food and service, great value too. Highly recommended and some fantastic unusual traditional dishes. We took the restaurant a little by surprise on Friday evening, arriving with a party of 11 having only booked online half an hour earlier, but they were quick to adapt, sorted a table and we were seated within just a few minutes. They explained that they were operating their festive menu, and not the regular menu, and appologised that due to the short notice booking they hadn't had an opportunity to call and let us know in advance. We were under no pressure to stay if we didn't want the special menu. However, a quick look at the festive menu was enough to realise that there was plenty of choice and it was great value so we wasted no time ordering drinks from the well stocked bar while enjoying the poppadoms and pickles. Presentation of all food was amazing, and it tasted every bit as good as it looked, with generous portions. Meats were so tender, with the lamb rojan josh and the special railway chicken (on the bone, and not as hot as the madras) being my favourites. I don't generally have desserts, and did consider asking for the option to skip it and pay a bit less, but actually as simple as it sounds the brownie and ice cream were also amazing. This is one of the very best meals I've had this year. Will definitely be returning in the new year to sample the standard menu. Excellent friendly service, hats off to the kitchen too. They catered for our fair size group, effectively as a walk in, without hesitation or fault. Great job! Worth noting there is a nice, quite private, area to the side of the main restaurant floor ideal for group bookings. It was already reserved by quite a large group, but we were easily accommodated, and there was another lovely table for 8 at the other side of the restaurant.

Lamb Chops – delicately spiced, these were delicious and melting Lamb Rogan Josh – Ben loves a good lamb curry and this was top notch. Paneer Makhani (Butter Paneer) – I always want a Paneer curry when it features on a menu, and at Indian Pakwaan there is a large selection of Paneer dishes. I asked for it to be made spicy. The chef cooked this with fresh green chillies, and the slap of spice was just right for me! Cheese Chilli Naan – now this was one of the best parts of the meal. Oh my god it was SO GOOD! Food was awesome. Tried Channa Batura and Aloo tiki chaat, both tasted fantastic. Mango Lassi Jar is wonderful in drink. Staff were quite humble and polite. Ambience and service was great.

My first time here and the food was absolutely amazing. I tried the dahi batata puri, veg Manchurian, and chole bhature and everything hit the right note. Akhil was very warm to talk to and he suggested the best dishes.

Yum. Yum. Yum. The most delightful pleasant meal I've had in a LONG time After escaping homeless, I was entranced by the beauty of this place ! It tantalised my tastebuds! They were so yum scriddly yumtious and I must say the toilet facilities were scrumptious for my organs :)) my BOWELS. THE dessert was exquisite those fragrant flavoured grains were SCRUMPTIOUS and LIFE CHANGING. MIC DROP All in all, ten out of ten. Extra cocktail was free! Double MIC DIDDLY DROP. YUM YUM YUM

Too good for Indian Food Lovers. Their kitchen is no less than our own kitchen in India. Mr. Sourav is a wonderful host. I am regular to this restaurant.

We visited Indian Pakawan in Leeds on 21/09/24, having pre-booked a table for 19:00. We arrived a little early and were seated promptly. The start of the evening seemed promising—drinks were served reasonably quickly, and the popadoms with the pickle tray arrived shortly after. However, things quickly went downhill from there. We were ready to order, but it proved almost impossible to get a waiter's attention. The staff seemed focused on seating other guests, and despite multiple attempts to signal them, we were ignored. I eventually approached a waiter to ask if we could place our order, and he assured me that a colleague would be over shortly. Ten minutes later, we were still waiting. After more time passed, I went up again, and the waiter finally took our order along with another round of drinks. We thought this would be the end of the issue, but unfortunately, we were wrong. As time passed, it became clear that the service problems were affecting other tables too—guests were left waiting for drinks, menus, and attention. Some diners even decided to leave out of frustration. After waiting a significant amount of time, the waiter brought out warm plates, which we hoped meant the food was on its way. Ten minutes later, only our drinks arrived, despite the fact we'd ordered them with the food. When I asked about the food again, the waiter simply disappeared. After another five minutes of waiting, we gave up and left. The lack of communication was appalling. If they were experiencing issues in the kitchen, it would have been helpful to let us know. Instead, we were left waiting without any explanation or update. This was easily one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had. I won't be returning and can't recommend it to others.

Booked last minute on the way to Leeds on a Saturday night as my family and I were in Leeds to drop off my son back at uni and saw the reviews on Trip Advisor. There was a slight mix-up with our booking and it was a very busy night but this was sorted and they made up a table for us within 10 mins. We made things simple by ordering Poppadoms/chutneys to start, then 4 x Chicken Tikka Masalas - with an amused smile from the very helpful waiter - , 2 x peshwari naans, 2 x garlic naans, 4 x basmati rice, plus lagers and Coke/mocktail for my teenaged children. From beginning to end, one of the best restaurant curries we have ever had; Poppadoms were super-fresh, piping hot and tasty, naans incredibly good, definitely the best I have ever tasted, pillowy, light with a delicious flavour, masalas fragrant, super-flavoursome and with complex flavours completely different to the usual, rice light, piping hot and perfectly cooked. The bill was also very reasonable, and less than we usually pay for similar dishes elsewhere. Just amazing - fabulous food, great prices, great restaurant.

We stumbled across this hidden gem, we we're all a little sceptical, but as we entered, we we're greeted by a lovely lady who seated us and brought the drinks menu, we had lamb buns and butter chicken, all I can say as we made our way to our event was WOW, I love curries but this was out of this world,will definitely be visiting again,thank you pakwaan.

For me is one of the best Indian restaurants in Leeds and atmosphere there is amazing. Staff were incredible food is my most favourite part I usually have something I don’t like in all places I go this time I didn’t everything to was spot on. They are doing a bloody scam by putting fake image and price and claiming it as chicken tikka (platter) for 7.95 pounds meanwhile that dish really costs 19.95 pounds and they have uploaded that in their website and doesnt even justify that. The customer service was really arrogant and doesnt even consider it as their fault and does not value the customers who point it out. I am very disappointed with the response from the service team and the food management of the hotel.

Came last weekend l dont knoebhiw you guys get good reviews I was extremely disappointed with food me and my my enjoy the best of foods cost is irevalant but the paneer was not up to my wife's standards didnt create a fuss but thought ld leave a review and to have a bit four pieces of paneer is curry is extremely disappointing to say the least the nan was rubbery was told could have chosen chapati that's not the point a young vice Indian lad (SIKH ORIGIN )knows of the wuity we meant so just shows the people who know know . Well that's another one off our list .

Top quality Indian food in a particularly pleasant restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff. It was only a shame that it wasn't very busy on a Saturday evening - this place deserves a lot more customers!

Lovely, authentic, good value for money food, and staff were very polite and friendly. Will definitely be coming back! :) Gulab jamun was especially tasty!
