Called in after a few beers around town, we opted for prawn puree and a Palace special for starters followed by a tandoori mixed grill and lamb tikka masala. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was great too, would absolutely recommend and will definitely be coming back soon.

The restaurant is not accommodating for large groups. The food was excellent, and the service was satisfactory during the meal, although the main courses took a bit too long to arrive. The issue arose when it was time to pay the bill. Despite informing the staff beforehand that our group of 15 would be paying separately, the manager insisted on providing a single bill for us to sort out amongst ourselves. This is challenging when some are paying by card, and it's not practical to expect customers to carry change. The correct approach would have been to allow each person to pay for their own order. Although they eventually permitted this, the hassle significantly detracted from the overall experience. It seems the staff are not focused on customer support. I recall a similar situation last year when an additional fee was charged for card payments. I had hoped for an improved experience this year, but it appears a different choice will be necessary in the future.

We held my Mum's 80th birthday celebrations at the Mansion House. The venue is first class and the staff superb. They really did go the extra mile for us. We had just over fifty guests, and afternoon tea was lovely. I am from St.Helens and proud of my home town even if I don't live there, but all my family do. Please be proud of this lovely venue.

I normally only review good places but people need to know about this unpleasant, dishonest business. I ordered food on a quiet night, and went to pick it up. They refused to accept my card, said they only took cash. If I'd been told this when I telephoned in my order or this was stated online, then fair enough. But it didn't. There was no apology; in fact I was made to feel it was my fault! I went home, got £20 and returned. I said they should tell people before they arrive that they only accept cash. The man I spoke to wasn't happy and his colleague then came over joining in. I was really uncomfortable. He looked at my money and said "It's £20". I thought this was too much but tbh I felt quite intimidated so I just left with the food. When I worked it out, the food should have been £15.25. Absolutely shocking place. Avoid.

I've recently moved to the area within the lastb12 months and I've tried almost every indian takeaway and this place is the beat by a country mile. The base sauce they use is awesome, they don't use too much oil and every dish I've tried has been perfect. My personal favourite is lamb madras extra garlic extra potatoes. I've also had the north Indian garlic chicken which is also fantastic. The jalfrezi is also perfect. The staff are friendly and the food is authentic. Best place I've found for not only quality but great value too. 5 star rating. From a humble curry lover

Not had a takeaway from here in a while, had lamb takeaway shashlik, with pathia sauce made vindaloo hot, chilli and garlic naan, could not fault anything. The curry was perfectly hot, the lamb tikka was perfect. Could not recommend highly enough
