We held my Mum's 80th birthday celebrations at the Mansion House. The venue is first class and the staff superb. They really did go the extra mile for us. We had just over fifty guests, and afternoon tea was lovely. I am from St.Helens and proud of my home town even if I don't live there, but all my family do. Please be proud of this lovely venue.

Attended a birthday party here at the weekend, about 70 people in all. We had a three-course meal in the Orangery and everything about the afternoon was perfect. There was great attention to detail with regard to the decoration of the venue, the food and the service. A couple of guests had special dietary needs and these were catered for without a problem. This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion.

Had a coffee and a cake here today when attending a car show. Fairly basic but quality and prices ok, no complaints.

Venue is stunning. Its run by a corporate head for a charity. However.. The charity is age uk but the prices are so not inline with pensions that im shocked a pensiiner could aford a treat here. Ordered pot of tea and lunch. Milk curdled when put in tea. Lunch was nothing special and nothing I would deem worthy of its price tag. Shame it has so much potential. Maybe review once more later in the year!

Attended an after funeral wake and was so disappointed with the set up. The venue was very clean and looked very nice but the rest unfortunately was dire. Firstly, with only 2 pumps at the bar offering either lager or bitter, the bitter ran out after only 5 pints. The wine was probably the worst I've ever tasted, once you got served by the one member of staff on duty. They ran out of change after half an hour. I won't even go into a rant regarding the catering which should have been enough for 60 guests but ran out after only the first 30 had eaten. All food was bought from a famous whole sale French company based near Haydock so we know the price and quantity it serves for and we're more than unhappy. Although there were 60 plus people scheduled and booked to attend, there wasn't sufficient seating to accommodate everyone which was problematic considering the average age was 60+. When the questions was raised to the Sole member of staff behind the bar, we were just told that she couldn't do anything as her hands were full. Felt so sorry for her and spent most of the day collecting glasses for her as they were also running low. I hope this review prevents any of the above from happening again. I don't think it's difficult to overcome these problems and can't believe that even after complaining after the event, the main organiser was treated without empathy or professionalism and just offered a 10% discount for any future bookings. This place could be really good but I just hope they can sort these pretty simple things out and make it a real success.

The Victoria Bistro at the Manor House- Victoria Park now allows dogs inside their newly furbished seating area. Ideal for dog walkers as the park is a great space to explore. The food was great! Service was good and the staff very friendly.

got let down with our wedding co-ordinator 2 months before our wedding as she left we found some of the staff very helpful however for the £4500 we paid i found after the event there are much better venues for the same price i seem to had to chase the "wedding co-ordinator" for updates the orangry where we had our ceremony was way too hot even with the air con on i simply couldnt stand it in there the grounds are beautiful and make lovely wedding photos they do dress the rooms lovely but as for a wedding venue i found them very unprofessional and have no clue on how to deal with the aspects of a wedding

Many many years ago, my friends and I played around this place and it's been so sad to watch it fall in to disarray. Well restored its a delight to visit the house. The coffee shop is excellent too.

I don't know what has happened to the Palace, The food used to be lovely, But when my wife and I went there last week the food was inedible, it was cold and greasey, we couldn't eat any of it, we refused to pay for it and the staff became extremely aggressive towards us, we paid for the drink we had and left, we won't be returning, absolutely disgusting food and experience. Stay Away.....

The restaurant is not accommodating for large groups. The food was excellent, and the service was satisfactory during the meal, although the main courses took a bit too long to arrive. The issue arose when it was time to pay the bill. Despite informing the staff beforehand that our group of 15 would be paying separately, the manager insisted on providing a single bill for us to sort out amongst ourselves. This is challenging when some are paying by card, and it's not practical to expect customers to carry change. The correct approach would have been to allow each person to pay for their own order. Although they eventually permitted this, the hassle significantly detracted from the overall experience. It seems the staff are not focused on customer support. I recall a similar situation last year when an additional fee was charged for card payments. I had hoped for an improved experience this year, but it appears a different choice will be necessary in the future.

This is the absolute best Indian takeaway in St Helens, by far... We normally order king prawn tikka starter's, with a king prawn puree, not the cheapest but bloody good. Followed by a mix shashlik kebab between the two of us.. Truly amazing food ! Thanks guys ,keep it up...
