The best restaurants serving Indian food in Gateshead North East

The food here is absolutely wonderful and the staff are attentive and friendly. I drive nearly 30 miles to dine here it is that good

We were really disappointed when the store closed on the Vallley however we just discovered the food truck on the Quayside. The potato curry wrap was amazing and the husband really like Goan rice bowl. We will visit again.

New Years Eve - family of 4. Great service and lovely, fresh food. As a returning customer recently I don't honestly know why we went elsewhere. £150 for poppadoms, 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 cobra.

Very lovely staff but unfortunately the food was terrible. The burger was very cheap meat and the most dry burger I have ever eaten. It wouldn't even bend, clearly been reheated. The chips were undercooked and the potato was very starchy. There was also loads more rice and barely any curry, however the curry was nice . The chapati was OK. Unfortunately I dont think I will be ordering from here again, which is a shame as it is highly rated.

Thank you to all the amazing team at Jamdani for yet again another beautiful meal with our family this evening over the Christmas period. We love the food and front of house here, it never fails to disappoint. The spicy tarka Dahl is a highlight for me personally, along with lamb chops, Dhansak and tikka main; but all the food is fresh and delicious, and the kitchen is adaptable to make adaptations at request. The service is always warm and welcoming and the team go out of their way to make a special evening every time. Take aways are equally good, all reasonably priced, hot and fresh. Welcomed warmly as always. Ordered drinks and the Journey. The journey gives you the opportunity to taste many starter and main course dishes. It was served quickly abd was fabulous. It sounds like there would be far too much food but the dishes are smaller than a typical starter or main course. Would recommend this to anyone who loves Undian Cuisine. The service was amazing. Well done all who served us on Friday 17tb January 2025. Looking forward to our next visit. Best Indian ever.

First up I have to say what a fantastic reception we got from all the staff, so friendly and a delight. The food was outstanding, it seemed like a throw back to restaurant food 15 years ago, and thats a good thing. Mixed kebab starter, onion bhaji was so light it was incredible, kebabs really good, when I say a throw back, they had a deep red colour of old, the pickle tray had really big portions which was nice. Currys where the real highlight mind, so tasty, chicken tikka meat in my curry was bright red again, but so tender and full of flavour. I like keema rice, but it is often very greasy, this wasn't, I would say it was the best keema rice I've had, naan bread again, soft, fluffy, superb. I will definitely be back on my next trip to this area.

Been going to chutneys for years and we ordered again the other week (after we hadn’t for a while) and it was amazing as always! Would totally recommend to everyone! A must try! 🌟

Amazing food, My go to place for idian food. Food is amazing, the wait time is short (I Always do collection on a sunday and get the 7 course meal deal) The staff always welcoming and friendly. Always reccomend to friends and family
