Absolutely amazing food as always. We look forward to visiting this restaurant when we visit friends and it never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is epic. Thank you to Mahir for his brilliant hosting and of course Nezam for your lovely smile - I know there is a whole team so thank you all! We’ll be back!

Brilliant food and fair prices the staff are also very friendly and welcoming highly recommend especially for the special deal on Thursdays and Sundays will be returning.

After having food from this restaurant for more than ten years we went for a meal and were not disappointed, lovely ambience very attentive and friendly staff . A hasty re-plan of our own little curry club brought us to Sunarga last night. We've been to a good few restaurants over the last few months and this one knocked it out of the park. The hospitality, customer service and the food were all truly excellent and it goes without saying that we'll be back whether it's part of our curry club tour or with friends and family. How a restaurant this good stayed under my radar, I'll never know, but it's firmly on there now. It's a must-visit; you won't be disappointed.

My friends and I have been coming to this restaurant for 10 years and the consistency in serving incredible food is exceptional. We have a takeaway most Saturdays and we spent new year again here with friends. We love Indian food and try many restaurants but nothing beats the quality of Sunarga Birtley. By far THE BEAT Indian cusine in the north east. The friendliest staff who remember you when you haven’t visited for a while. The food is SO tasty and huge different varieties of curries. 11/10 you will not be disappointed!

Outstanding... can't fault at all. Fabulous food, I've tried most dishes now - full of flavour. Staff are welcoming and friendly... wouldn't go anywhere else. I've dined in a number of times and have a takeaway every week. Easily accessible, lots of parking.

Sunargra restaurant is without doubt the hidden gem of the Indian Restaurant world and based in Birtley. If you haven’t been to Sunargra then you are missing a treat - think top end Indian Cuisine with signature dishes that will blow your mind. I have been to India and eaten in Indian Restaurants throughout the UK and Sunargra is without a doubt up there with the best. The staff and service is always on point. Today we had the four course special and at £15 a head it is a bargain. Starters we had Chicken Tikka and a mixed kebab - both were cooked to perfection and accompanied by their unique raita and side salad. The main event consisted of Korai Chicken and the Chilli Roshan Balti which in my opinion is the best curry on the planet bar none and unique to Sunargra. Vegetable pilau, coconut pilau, 2 popadoms and a red onion naan accompanied the main course. The red onion naan is again unique to this restaurant with a blend of red onion and chilli - it is unreal. The food was a taste sensation and if you want to experience the finest Indian cuisine then get yourself down - you will not be disappointed. Coffee or ice cream to finish and the experience is concluded.

Take away. From order to collection, absolutely brilliant. Kept food hot while having our drinks. Delicious and hot freshly cooked food. We will be back

We absolutely love this place! The food is jam packed full of fresh flavours and really tasty and the service is spot on. Great value fo money too. We introduced this place to my parents and now they travel from Belmont to have a meal here. My teenage daughter actually says ‘yay’ when I tell her we are going there for tea.

Birtley doesn't have many good restaurants so a meal at Sunarga is always a treat as it is the very best in the area. After many visits we have never been disappointed with either the food or the reception from the management and friendly staff.

We love going to Sunarga’s for a meal or a takeaway. Staff always look after us well and are lovely. Food is consistently excellent, the Sri Lankan curry’s are the best we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend.

Been to a lot of Indian restaurants and this place always comes first. I moved to London five years ago but when visiting home I will always squeeze in a trip here. Obsessed with the onion bajis. They always recognise me and ask about my life in detail, great service every time. The food is so flavoursome and I’ll never get bored of this place. I had a meal here some time ago now and peomised to review but haven't been able to get into my google account until now. The meal was very good, the service was great and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Lots of takeaways being collected while we were there and everyone appeared to be a regular. 5 stars and highly recommended.

I must say , first time eating there with the family . My partner and mam got soft drinks ( coke ) both were flat . I flagged this to the waiter and we were not offered another .
