The best restaurants serving Indian food in Thurrock East of England

I thought that I would use this Bangladeshi takeaway as it is opened recently. The takeaway does all of the ‘usuals’ however there are dishes that I haven’t tried before. So I ordered the Modhu Lamb which is chunks of Lamb with honey and mint mixed with baby new potatoes in a sauce. Wow what a tasty dish it is, superb. The other dish that I’ve never had is Niramish which is fried mixed vegetables with herbs. Another tasty dish. I also had a Keema Nan and mushroom pilau rice. I thought that on a very busy Saturday evening that I would be waiting ages but the food was ready and brought out to me within 10 minutes, so very happy with the service. Anokha has all the ‘usuals’ but also authentic Bangladeshi dish’s. The service was very good, the food was superb and plentiful and the prices very reasonable.

Ordered take away told 20 mins. Got to restaurant 40 mins later food turned up. Asked did you forget the order was told no it’s busy. Appreciate busy but please guys get some kind of system going. This is on going takeaway doesn’t work. If you’re told 20 minutes then 20 minutes or 30 minutes, it should be.

Real good value for money, food can take some time to come, but definitely worth the wait. Lovely interior and staff.

A Fantastic Indian Feast – Highly Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of dining at Shampan recently, and it was an unforgettable experience filled with delicious Indian flavors. Every dish we tried was a reflection of the chef’s skill and passion for authentic cuisine. We began with a selection of starters: The onion bhaji, sizzler mix, and chicken chat purée.The onion bhaji which was crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. It was the ideal way to kick off our meal, paired with a tangy mint sauce that elevated the flavors, while the sizzler mix was a fantastic combination of sizzling, smoky flavors. For the mains, we went all out and tried the tandoori mix grill, shahi biriyani, shampaan chicken express, and korai chicken. The tandoori mix grill was a masterpiece. Each bite was smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor. The chef’s special shahi biriyani was another highlight—rich, aromatic, and layered with spices. Overall,the service was impeccable, with the staff ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it an excellent place for a relaxed and indulgent meal. I highly recommend Shampaan to anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine or wants to try something new. Every dish was a delight, and I can’t wait to return!

Ordered a takeaway from here, all of the food had no flavour whatsoever, could have easily spent our money on a much nicer flavoursome indian. Will not be ordering again

Don't order biriyani. Because it is NOT biriyani. I am indian i know. Very poor food. Not worth the money you spend sadly.

The whole meal was terrible. Will go somewhere else next time.

Ordered via website for delivery, and then waited for around an hour and a half, called them to ask where it is, only to be told they don't deliver and that it wasn't their fault repeatedly. Delivery is an option on the site, so why lie when we came and collected it? Bad customer service, and where the food was left for so long, it wasn't enjoyable. 1 star for very bad customer service. Edit: Business is trying to blame a third party delivery service, even though everything was ordered via their own website. Their FAQ even states they accept cash on delivery so they must deliver. Bad customer service still, not willing to take blame.

Tried to do a £70 order for delivery, they declined it twice with no reason didn’t answer the phone when we called up not happy with the service of the restaurant and now will no be ordering from here again.

After giving the place a miss for the last few years, I thought I would give it another go. Ordered Dhansak and a Jalfrezi. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Very tasty and will be using the Bilash for my next takeaway.
