The best restaurants serving Indian food in Central Bedfordshire East of England

Fantastic food and brilliant service. Absolutely could not fault. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to!

We were looking for a place to eat near yo Cranfield University, with our son. We came across the Gurka Kitchen. We sat down in the bar and looked at the menu. We were told we needed to go into the restaurant to order food. Restaurant was well maintained and not to busy ( for Sunday lunch time). Wife had curried lamb shank, son had tandoori mixed grill and I had the Gurka egg noodles and crispy duck. Food looked great and tasted even better. All three of us said we'd go back again to eat.

We have just ordered another meal from this takeaway and yet again the meal was fantastic. I had a special of chicken bakara which was beautifully spiced and one of the best takeaway meals I've had. All in all thoroughly recommend this takeaway.

Take away for 3 last night Good as usual All I would say is the chicken shashlik we normally have (cos we like to mix with a couple of sauces - a masala for my wife and a Danzak for me) and isnt typically too hot for my wife, was really spicey this time Still enjoyable :)

Unique Indian food restaurant. Well worth the drive off the beaten track.

We had a lovely dinner at Spice Lounge and were impressed by the wide range of options on the menu. Service was great, we will definitely come again!

We asked the Raj Bengal to provide a meal for twelve people for a 60th Birthday. They suggested two starters, two mains, rice and naan bread. Earlier in the day they dropped off a heating water bath to keep the buffet warm and dropped off the hot food exactly at the time agreed. Not only was the food to die for (lamb korai the stand out dish) but there was masses provided that allowed everyone to have seconds, and in one case thirds! I cannot recommend the service provided by the team at the Raj Bengal high enough. Thank you for making the Birthday magical.

Now called Mehti Indian we had Chicken tikka masala bombay potatoes which were amazing sooo tasty loved it thankyou we will be ordering delivery again which was also very prompt with a delightful driver service

Curry Hut always listen to instructions on the order. Get it spot on. Food is always piping hot and fresh. Lately the spice levels have been lower than what I have been used to. Keep it up. Will specify extra spice next time.

Visited on a Monday evening around 7:30pm. It wasn’t too busy but it wasn’t quiet either. A nice and steady evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were just right. The waiters were very polite and service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere stole the show for me. A lot of restaurants you visit these days are drowning in loud music and loud patrons. However, at Blue Orchid they have really cracked it. The lighting, the volume of the music. Left feeling full but not stuffed and very relaxed. Just what you need.

This is without a doubt the best Indian in the area by far! Having moved to Hitchin from London where there are many great Indian restaurants/takeaways, we were so happy to find one that exceeds them all. Every dish we order is fantastic. The Saag Aloo is one of the best ever, as is the King Prawn Puri. The Chicken Khjana is out of this world as is the Mango Delight. Please try it for yourself you will definitely not be disappointed. Visited Ek Raj for the first time after an advert on Facebook. Ordered items from the Fix menu! Literally exceptional quality food, we chose the following items. 1. loaded Masala Chips - Unreal with a really nice kick of heat. 2. Bombay Aloo Roll - Nice bread, Potato could have had stronger spice but was delicious 3. Open Loaded Naan (Tikka Masala) - OMG. This was UNREAL. Great bread, really tasty. Literally would go back tomorrow! Such a delicious and entrepreneurial way to add quick dishes to the menu! 5* overall.

Once again the Indian Ocean looked after us superbly after our concert this month. The service was excellent as was the food. We were quite a large group (14 of us, from the Heath brass band). Prompt, efficient and friendly service

This place never disappoints. We managed to get a table for two at quite short notice and received a very warm welcome on arrival from the friendly and attentive staff. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great.
