Visited for the first time today with my fiancé and absolutely loved it! Food was extremely tasty and loads to choose from! Service was great, staff were friendly and we will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

We have both said this was one of the best Indian meals we've ever had! And we've been lucky enough to go around the world sampling Indian food (though not India itself, sadly). We had the Samosa Chaat & Halloumi Pakora to start. Samosa Chaat was delicious. A delightful blend of spice, yoghurt & coriander. Halloumi Pakora was cooked a lovely, light, crisp batter. Very tasty but curiously, no spice at all. We then had the Biryani (with a Balti curry sauce) and Old Indian Butter Chicken. The vegtable biryani was great! Rice cooked well, not overdone & stodgy like I experience in so many other places. Good flavours, nice spice. Balti sauce was very tasty indeed. However. The Old Indian Butter Chicken. WOW!! My partner & I have rarely tasted Indian food as good as this!! It was so good, it is hard to describe. It was just the right blend of spices, tomatoes, butter. Although mild, the dish had presence, & depth, and announced itself as incredibly tasty Indian food.... food that I will be thinking about until we go again next month!! The garlic naan was very good. Not a doughy mound, like you tend to get these days. You can ask for amendments, so if you wanted tofu or veg butter, instead of chicken (or any dish, for that matter), you can. On top of this, the service was excellent!

Great Indian restaurant, the food was lovely. The naan bread alone was one of the best iv had.

I had the slow cooked lamb. I was up all night with diarrhea and stomach ache. I have now developed painful piles as a result. I would question the cleanliness or food preparation at the establishment. It tastes great but the aftermath was not worth it.

The sweetest chilli paneer I have ever had amongst the 5 countries where I have tasted this dish. The Tawa crunchy veg was equally bland... Reviews of the restaurant didn't justify the taste of food..

Great food and great service, better service than I deserved actually. Got home with the takeaway, put it in the oven while we got sorted, took it out of the oven to find what looked like a dish was missing. Rang the restaurant, they sent a replacement out straight away. Turned out in my haste to get it in the oven I'd chucked one of the containers at the very bottom of the oven and it was hidden under a pizza stone. Nothing missing at all, yet they were good enough to take me at my word, and when I rang to explain, apologise, and pay for the replacement, which ended up being my lunch the next day, they were very understanding and wouldn't let me pay. Highly recommend ordering from here.

Still waiting for our Friday night takeaway after over two hours. Will not be ordering from them again! I get that it’s a Friday and they are busy but this is not acceptable.

The food here was so delicious and the portions were very generous for the price. The servers were so friendly and we felt so welcome 😊 we will definitely be returning!

This was our first visit to this restaurant and it probably won’t be the last. Food was tasty - though it could have done with being a smidge warmer (not spicy). Our only criticism was the price of the poppadoms. Bit high tbh. But we enjoyed what we all ordered without feeling stuffed to the gills afterwards.

Wow! This restaurant has been recommended to us time and time again so we knew we had to try it. Absolutely amazing food, the sea food platter starter was outstanding. Duck and lamb cooked to perfection. The staff were so knowledgeable about each dish, so helpful and friendly. Highly recommended by us and we will be returning!

Absolutely fantastic food. Lamb chops and Hakka paneer are a must at this place! Taz and the rest of the team were attentive, polite and professional. Everything was clean and food was given promptly. Amazing atmosphere, cool and quirky decor. If you’re just travelling by or live in the area, I cannot recommend this place to you enough. End the meal with some galab jamun. Freshly cooked. Truly divine.

Tawa is great for all ages and all occassions . Brightly decorated restaurant , friendly staff and incredible food . Despite being full , we were not crowded and got good service. As always the food was delicious and authentic. The small plates are great for a change from the traditional curry and rice , which are also available . The platters are just right for 1 person or as sharing starter for 2. Everything tastes fresh and the menu has a good variety for all tastes and ages .

The food was absolutely excellent, everyone in our party had delicious food. Portions were great, I even had some left over for breakfast tomorrow. Our Waiter, Jay, was really personable and friendly! We will definitely be back!!

We've been recommended the Tawa by many friends and it didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and the menu was varied with many things we hadn't seen before in an Indian restaurant. The soft shell crab and calamari starters were fantastic. The atmosphere was great, quite lively with people clearly enjoying themselves. The waiters were all very good, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, especially Jay. We don't live far away so will be back very soon :-)

Attentive and polite service, flavourful food... what's not to love? I had Pani Puri to start, and Malabar Monkfish as a main; absolutely delicious! I was giggling like a madman whilst eating my Pani Puri, it's that good!

Went as a group of 7 to celebrate friends birthdays. The restaurant was full but the service was excellent. Staff looked smart and were very attentive. The atmosphere was buzzy but not too loud. I was really impressed with the food. Very tasty. Lots to choose from too. The food was presented well and I loved the different types of plates and cups for different courses. Matched the theme of the restaurant. Very funky. I took a birthday cake and the staff were very accommodating, they came out singing. Nice touch. Would definitely returned and will be recommending to friends and family.

Second visit to this truly brilliant restaurant. Went with a group of 10 friends. Restaurant was full to bursting. Not your typical Indian restaurant in decor. Service in on night was a little slow but given it was a Saturday evening with a packed restaurant this should be expected. The food was truly amazing and served piping hot to all of the group by some of the politest waiters you could possibly wish for. A truly delicious, amazing, authentic meal and at a cost which represented excellent value for money. The evening was enjoyed by the whole group all of who have never visted previousky and who will be making this their first choice for Indian in the future. Thank you all at TAWA and see you soon

Great relaxed atmosphere. Food tasty

Six of us went for a family meal there last night. Looks more like a pub from the outside but as soon as you walk in the beautiful smell of curry wafts through. Food was great, plentiful. We had starters and mains and some people squeezed in a desert. The menu was clear and well thought out and had a great variety. I had soft shell crab and tandoor prawn. Not a bad dish across the board. I’ve taken some photos but didn’t want to spoil the look of all dishes. My Tandoor Prawn was delicious though. Drank a mix of wine and cobra. Wine was good too. Surprisingly good selection. Service was friendly and warming. Couldn’t have done more.

Shout out to Jay! 😜 (thanks for the extra chocolates) Had a lovely meal here with friends. Food was great, very fresh, the server had some good recommendations and the staff were really friendly and chatty.

Family birthday meal 17/02/24. What an amazing evening we had. Food was magnificent but on top of that, service was superb. The whole team made us feel so welcome that it was like having a personal service. The team couldn’t do enough for us. Would happily say it was a 5 star service but that is doing a disservice to them as the team were better than that. Myself and my better half have been a few times and again have always enjoyed the experience but it was a first time for other members of the family who left and were full of praise. Best Indian food around. Not greasy like some curries can be. Fresh tasting. Served properly hot. Varied menu with different dishes compared to your usual Indian. Jay served us and was brilliant - nothing was too much trouble.

Our first visit. I don't know how we haven't found it before. Food was fantastic and different to usual Indian fare. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We are already planning our next visit and will be taking along some friends.

Musa served us. His service was fanatic, made good recommendations. Great place great value for money, glad I recommended it, my lazy friends wanted to go to Flitwick. Lol

An eye-catching restaurant we stopped off for dinner unsure if we'd get a table as the carpark was packed. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table where poppadoms and tasty dips quickly followed. Jay was awesome, providing great recommendations and attentive service. It was our first visit last night & everything was delicious. Staff super friendly & happy to help. Had a small issue with my veg samosa but very quickly rectified & taken off the bill. Car park is very busy & you need to book at weekends. Cant wait to go back & try something else.

Really great food and experience - accomodating for all

We dined at Tawa last night and the whole experience was faultless. From the moment we were greeted at the door to the moment we left, Musa and his team ensured we were always looked after. The food was incredible - both the home made lime pickle and lamb/quails scotch eggs stood out in particular however the absolute star of the show was the lamb Tawa tak-a-tak which was nothing short of stunning. Top work guys, we will be back.

Best Indian I have had in years, service amazing too

On a cold Tuesday in January, it was a but empty, but the food and service were brilliant. I'm definitely going back.

We've been to Tawa 4 or 5 times now and it's been a great experience each time. It's an interesting and varied menu and all the meals we've had have been excellent. We had our first takeaway from there on New Year's Eve (collection) it did not disappoint. Service is also always excellent and super friendly. The decor inside is deliberately 'rustic' with evocations of street scenes. It works well and is appropriate but may not match everyone's expectations. Looking forward to many more visits in 2024

It pains me to say this, but the food this evening was very average compared to what we get normally. The naan was small and wet, the lamb tikka bhuna was very tough and difficult to digest and the chana with tomatoes was almost tasteless....

Eaten here a number of times and had a number of takeaways, honestly say it is the nicest Indian food in the area, the dishes have real flavour and spice, would highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place. We found this secret gem about 12 months ago. Love everything about it. The staff, food and atmosphere is amazing. The staff are so polite, friendly and very helpful. The food is perfect, large menu and cooked to perfection. It's 20 minutes from our home bur definitely worth the short drive. We have been so many times now and recommended it to so many people.

The food here is delicious and such good value. I recommend the aubergine pakora which is so tasty! The service is also friendly and attentive.

I ordered a takeaway for a set time. It turned up 50 minutes late and the foot was cold, with part of the order missing. I called the restaurant for an explanation and was told it was my fault for having it delivered instead of eating in the restaurant. I asked for a refund and was told it wasn’t possible

Food was lovely, although there were no vegan options on the menu. However allergens have been highlighted, so it was pretty easy to pick what to eat. I would definitely come back again.

Take away parcel quantity is literally half compared to most other Indian restaurants. Check the unopened parcel containers. When I called them over the phone they said, that as they use larger containers the actual quantity appears to be less, but that's not true as we've ordered from several places over the years and the same-sized containers were never delivered half empty. Also, they said they pride quality over quantity, however, couple of the chicken tikka pieces were raw inside, causing us food poisoning. This was our first and last experience, unfortunately. We hoped to find one authentic Indian (not balti) food place to try something but sadly ended up being disappointing.

Really modern and trendy decor. Service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. Food was exquisite and very reasonably priced. The facilities were all very clean and tidy. Cannot recommend highly enough. Absolute gem.

Visited earlier this month upon recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed, extensive menu, very nice food, we all had different dishes and all 5 of us were satisfied with our meals. So good that we are booked in again at the weekend!

My wife and I were looking for a restaurant in the area and thought we’d try Tawa. It did not disappoint, the food and service was excellent. I also thought it was reasonably priced but we have moved out of London which might skew are view.

Fork me! If the food wasn’t enough, the weight of the cutlery was beyond expectations! All joking aside, this is well worth a visit… we look forward to visiting again!

We had a great meal and the services was very good! My husband said the butter chicken was better than the one he had at a 5 star establishment. Great veggie selection and waiter even brought me a taster of something I had asked of....

First time eating here, thought at first we wouldn't get a seat as the car park was full - don't be put off by that as although this place is very popular, the cars are another business and are for sale .... the welcome was great the guys are charming; chatty if you ask questions but then melt into the background. Perfect hosts. And, the food was delicious I had chicken tikka shashlik and black dhal which was very good 😋... my sis had the chilli 🌶 chicken very good too as was the dry mix veg and mushroom & spring onion rice and flaky paratha. 10/10 we'll be back.... there's more on the menu we want to try.
