great food, really flavoursome

Myself and my wife have eaten here once a week for the last year and will continue to do so, the food is amazing, the staff are faultless and friendly even when its busy! Highly recommended! The best place in Essex for a curry!

A great experience. Wonderful food, great service and good atmosphere. Besides that, the attention to detail, from food presentation, to crockery, cutlery, glasses and table setting. Fine Indian dining. Treat yourselves.

If I could give it minus stars I would food was undercooked, the owner was horrible and rude, dirty and wouldn’t recommend. DONT GO THERE !

First time here, I was so hungry and forget to take pics. Staff were lovely and service was speedy. Food was absolutely delicious, flavours exploding in each mouthful. The Chicken Kochi was divine 😋

Generally really good place, very much enjoyed the food, really nice place, great interior and atmosphere, only negative with this place was the service, was a little slow but overall I enjoyed this place and would go again.

Not that great, didn't really enjoy it, nan wasn't actually a nan bread, more like a tortilla wrap that is almost like cardboard. I wouldn't go again

It was our second time eating here as we really enjoyed the food and again it didn't disappoint but the service by the man who served us was abrupt verging on being rude . I had barely sat on my seat and I was asked if I wanted a drink not even picked up the menu !! We ordered wine , table water a starter and a main course . The starter arrived very quickly and no sooner had we finished and plates cleared then our main course arrive ,I certainly needed a breather in between courses but it was less than 2 mins ! Food was tasty but the service was so rushed and we didn't feel very welcome .

Attended private function. The room smelled a bit foosty. The bar staff had no idea! Didn't pay the same price for a round. £3 for a can of coke and the 'Prosecco' was rank.

Our first time at this long established restaurant. The staff were freat and there is an extensive choice on the menu. We had chicken tikka massala, a chilli lamb dish, special pillau rice, tarkha dhall, sag aloo and onion bhaji. All dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty. Wine choices are good and prices very reasonable. Great meal!!

Visited The Shahin yesterday on recommendation. I was not disappointed. Superb food and attentive staff. Probably the best banquet night I've had in an Indian restaurant, large portions at £23.50. Chilli paneer the standout. Will be returning soon!
