Raja Monkey is an absolute gem of a restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with warm hospitality, a cozy atmosphere, and the unmistakable aroma of something truly special cooking in the kitchen. Every dish is a burst of flavor, clearly crafted with care and authenticity. Chef Munayam is a true master of his craft. You can taste the passion in every bite, from the perfectly spiced curries to the melt-in-your-mouth naan. He brings a beautiful balance of tradition and creativity to the table, and it shows in the consistently outstanding quality of the food. A huge shoutout to the entire staff as well; they’re attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to care that you’re having a great experience. Dining at Raja Monkey feels less like eating out and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Highly recommended and absolutely deserving of all the praise.

Fabulous food and quick delivery

The Punjabi Masala was a nice change from a Tikka Masala. Not as sweet and the flavors really came through. The lamb biryani was tasty and the mince samosa was nice. Some of the best Naan I’ve had.

The whole order was cold. 1 curry was full of water and inedible, dips looked like they had been sat for days, chips soggy and onion bhajis tasted reheated, soggy and chewy. Won’t be ordering again

We as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids visited this place last Saturday at 9 pm. We pre-booked and we were told a table would be available on arrival. As we arrived on time, the place was jam-packed with no place to stand as well. We waited for like 15 min and got a table with only 3 chairs, even though we booked for 4. I cannot stand for long and so I took a chair, both my sons in each and my husband unfortunately stood there for 10 min and then my younger one for 5 more minutes until a fellow customer ( out of pity or good nature or maybe they were finished) kindly offered us a chair on which my younger one sat. The irony was, even after me inquiring about the chair many times, I was assured that a chair was coming right up, it didn't happen at all. The place is very small and cramped when full with customers. Now the food: Great taste, good quality and quantity. We had vegetarian starters ( Samosa, paneer chilly, paneer pakoda) and some street food ( chole bhature and Madurai masala dosa) with an apple juice and ginger ale. The price was a bit on the higher end is my opinion. It costed us somewhere around £40+ which I believe is expensive. Anyway, they were responsive enough to come and inquire if everything was fine or we needed something else. They did not charge our drinks, as a compensation for keeping us waiting for the table and a chair. They even told us that since it was a Saturday, people tend to spend more time than usual and so the waiting time was more than anticipated. Rather if it was a Sunday, it would have been better, which they could have informed us when we were booking but unfortunately they skipped this part! PS: Thali is available only from SUNDAY to THURSDAY. OVERALL EXPERIENCE - Good taste, no customisation, just like how Indian food must taste, authentic flavour and aroma, but I felt it was a bit expensive. Please try to avoid going on a Saturday evening.

Unwelcoming and rude behaviour from the staff. The man who took our order was really unhelpful and discouraging. The lady staff tried to be nice but as she was new to the job and the man was part of management she couldn't do much. Somehow ate what they gave us and felt like running away from a hostile place. We visited on 16th march around 9 pm. Since I saw another review stating similar situations at night from the staff, I believe the management would be more careful in choosing people for such customer facing roles.

Lovely Indian food, everyone really loved the curry they chose we had Rohan Josh with lamb, chicken tikka and chicken korma. Garlic Naan and onion bajis were fantastic! Highly recommend, best Indian around New Malden. Mango lassi also delicious!

First time ever coming to Maharani and definitely won't be our last! Fantastic experience from start to finish, staff are super attentive, and food is amazing.

This was our first time eating in this restaurant, we have had many deliveries. Everything from start to finish was delicious. Beautifully prepared food with amazing service. Lovely environment with lovely staff. We took my daughter’s guide dog out for the first time in a restaurant with us and the staff were just amazing. This is not always the case so it made our meal even more enjoyable. Thank you

I really thought I'd found a decent restaurant but have been let down twice by these guys now. first time I let it slide as it was just a missing mango lassi but this time I had a missing item from my meal deal and the lamb desi looked more like a mishmash of the dhal that wasn't delivered and the lamb in the meal I ordered. I tried to eat it but it was not nice and definitely not lamb desi. So disappointed and I won't be backnow. Shame...
