Moksha in Kingston upon Thames

The food was really tasty but we ordered through ubereats, and on the menu certain dishes were labeled as spicy and the others were not specified so we assumed logically they should not be spicy. We were ordering for young children as well and were surprised to find that all the dishes we ordered were slightly spicy, so we had to find something else for the children to eat last minute. For adults very enjoyable but need to be careful if ordering for kids.

Really a great Indian restaurant to dine in, the food served is of good quality and has an authentic Indian taste. I always love to order Dal Makhni and Naan. In starters my all time favorite is Avocado cutlet which has its unique taste. A must try as I recommend my friends to definitely visit this place.

Overall a really good takeaway the korma was amazing and the rice was also very good, cooked well not too spicy or anything like that, but i would have given this 5 stars, but we got told by the gentlemen (serving us for a takeaway) that the poppadoms you get 3 in a pack so we ordered this 2 portions and got given 1 and a half instead all of the poppadoms were half?

Hi there. This restaurant has an excellent atmosphere with many friendly waiters. The setting is nice and the lighting is perfect; the food was very good and it came in a good amount of time, not too long or short of a wait time between each course. Their menu has lots of variety (they even had a choice of deer). I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in trying different foods! I hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did.

Top quality Indian cuisine in a nice corner of New Malden. Good variety, taste and presentation are great. Service is warm and efficient and excellent recommendations. The vegetarian fare is good and so are non veg options - the Lamb kebab was delicious and filling! The veg thali was hearty and delicious. Went Weekday night and not too busy so ample seating and lot of covers. Limited parking right at the front and seemed buzzing with takeaways

This restaurant came highly recommended to me by someone who lives locally . The service was amazing and the vegetarian food was truly delicious . From starters to main course the street food and other varieties were served hot . Portions were very generous and the staff were both friendly and helpful . I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is Vegetarian/ Vegan .

After years and years of not having been in touch with the owners of Moksha who formally managed the Mango Lounge in Windsor all those years ago, I was very happily reunited with them all on July 31st 2024. Despite the fact that I am actually from Northern Ireland and I am staying in Greenford in London on a short break, I was more than willing to travel all that way to New Malden in order to be reacquainted with gourmet Indian cuisine which was ultimately guaranteed. Arjun who is the owner of the restaurant warmly greeted me upon arrival and he showed me to my table. Just like old times, I excitedly ordered the lamb chops for starters and the taste of them took me straight back to my experiences when Arjun and his staff managed the Mango Lounge. Before the lamb chops were brought out, I was given a pre-starter which consisted of some samples of onion bhajis which were delicious!! Even though the Old Delhi Style chicken (this is a delicious recipe which is a chicken curry done in a rich, medium-spiced, creamy tomato gravy) for the main course wasn’t on the menu, however the owners knew that was my favorite dish from having frequented the Mango Lounge many times before in the past, which they very happily made for me upon my request!! I also ordered a garlic naan bread with rice. For dessert, I also had mango ice-cream which was also extremely delicious. Arjun and other staff were extremely attentive and when my wine glass got empty, they would refill it with the wine I had ordered. By the end of my visit, I was very overwhelmed with everything and I definitely knew I had made a very, very good choice to come to Moksha. Just to reiterate, it sure definitely felt like old times indeed, that I would be more inclined to make a repeat visit to the Moksha and the Mango Lounge will now be my second choice. Thank you so very much Arjun and it was an ultimate pleasure to be reunited again with you!! I so wish you and everyone at Moksha every success!!

I am 12 and I am very picky, I have gone to over 20 restaurants over my life, and I have never tasted such amazing meals, everything there is made to perfection, usually I never eat anything aat other restaurants,but this was so good I had to eat everything.

We were invited by friends for dinner at Moksha. The food was delicious, authentic and full of flavour. I would highly recommend their Achari Chicken, Lal Maas (lamb), sheek kebab amongst other delicacies. Service was excellent 👍🏼

Recently I visited again this place. At that moment restaurant was too busy. However they served and look after politely. Well trained staff🙂 Thank you guys..see you soon

I ordered butter chicken, rice and raita. This caused me food poisoning and digestion problems. I used to order from this place and never had any problems, after yesterday I absolutely do not recommend this place. Major quality and hygiene problems.

We booked the restaurant for a birthday party. The food was very good, the guests were very happy. They were able to accommodate vegan and Jain options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this place for a function but also just to come and try they food.

We were at Moksha on Saturday for a surprise 70th birthday lunch for my mum. We had around 40 guests and made arrangements for a buffet style experience. The food was amazing and we great feedback from our guests. The restaurant was able to cater for a small number of Jain and vegan meals. This was done without any issues and all of our guests commented on how included they felt and how delicious the food was. Tasty, clean and colourful! We were permitted to arrange the tables, decorations and brought additional props for the event. My mum was really surprised and loved the whole thing. Thanks to all at Moksha for a well organised afternoon! We highly recommend!

Excellent food and excellent service would definitely recommend

I have just ordered off the Deliveroo app. I have never tasted so bad Indian food. I used to eat in Brick lane in the 1990's but this was ineible. Tikka chicken our national dish tasted like tomato soup, even the dips tasted funny. The mushroom rice was under cooked. I had to throw half of the food in the bin it was making me feel sick. I have woken up this morning and I feel sick. Thank you great start to my weekend!!

This restaurant treated us very badly. The manager was very rude to our kids. He tried to argue with me aggressively. I have been to this restaurant few times but they have never treated us like that before. The manager came aggressively and slammed the bill on our table so we can pay and leave asap. He blamed our kids falsely as well.

I ordered catering for a small dinner at my house for adults and kids. My guests all enjoyed the food. Authentic Indian, just the right spice levels. I thought I had over ordered but everyone devoured the food. Thanks to Rajeev who communicated patiently with me for two weeks to accommodate allergy related requests.

A warm welcome awaited us at Moksha. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and service was prompt and food cooked to perfection. All staff were very kind, and our choice of curries, complimented by fresh and authentic vegetable dishes really made for an enjoyable experience. The menu is large and varied with something for everyone to enjoy. Will certainly visit again and highly recommend if you desire a culinary experience of genuine Indian cooking.

Had a delicious dinner here last night! We had poppadums to start which were very good value. We then had the paani puri with the freshest zingy sauce, and the tandoori king prawns which were so flavourful. For main we shared the butter chicken and the Keralan lamb curry. The lamb curry was especially delicious. We had a peshwari naan on the side which was smaller and thinner than I’d have liked, but still tasty. All in all the food was very tasty, but what topped it off was the exceptional service. Thank you!

We went on Friday late time around 11 clock however people were generous. They still served for us. Extremely good service food which they made for us was authentic and taste like proper Indian. The penny you spent here is deserved for food and service. Thank you guys...see you again

We went here at 7pm on a Saturday night and there were only two other tables dining which should have been a big indicator to us. The waitress we had was very cold and rude, didn’t even say hello to us when we sat down. The two men were more friendly but they didn’t really serve us. Now the food, was so bad. The masala and butter chicken tasted like a ready meal. Honestly had better curries from ASDA. The rice was nice but that’s it. When asked we said the food was OK because we had been met with such bad service we didn’t expect them to sort it out anyway. Now when we got the bill, we had been charged for 3 portions of poppadums. When I ordered, I clearly stated two portions of poppadums. When I asked our waitress about the additional charge, she said “no we charge you for the amount of people at the table”. I explained this made no sense as the other person we were dining with didn’t like them and didn’t eat them so why was she charged. Well this made the rude waitress even ruder, we kept the service charge on and paid it but now really wish we didn’t as they definitely did not deserve it. There are far better restaurants around. I’ve seen from other reviews the owner seems to make excuses but there is no excuse for rude waitresses and food that tastes like it’s been microwaved especially when a curry is £12.50. I expect to receive a rude reply back which I think proves my point of the bad service!

I really satisfied by authentic food and also by the service, it's an unexpected visit but it was a good decision made by me bcoz it filled my tummy with real home taste of Indian spices,and the service was very good definitely I will visit again .

Lamb biryani and mango mist is a must try. Staff was very nice. Go to this pace if you wanna have a good non veg meal.

Had to be in Surbiton due to #1 daughter's social commitments, so looked at the reviews and found a local place for a few of us to eat. Fantastic food, although beware what you order, as portions can be a little large - we took home the remaining biryani and had dinner for 2 the next night! Our friends had never had a "successful" curry and they raved about how nice it was. The service was good too, my only (very minor) complaint, hence 4*, is that any loud tables tend to echo, making conversation a little challenging. We will go back if in the area again and did mention it to a few local freinds to try.

Outstanding food and service. We shared the mixed meat starter for two and it did not disappoint. White fish in tasty batter, super meaty lamb sheikh kebabs, delicious lamb chops and the chicken tikka pieces were morsels of ultra deliciousness. I had Chettinand Chicken which was very flavorsome, quite hot and creamy. Black pepper was the over riding flavour and I loved it. We also enjoyed Karai Chicken and Lal Mas. Both were very tasty. We also had a whole tandoori chicken- the chicken was lovely and moist and very tasty. The mushroom rice was exceptional with cumin and perfectly cooked rice. We ordered far too much and had enough to take home for tea the next day. The staff were very attentive. I am in a West Yorkshire curry club and I cannot recommend enough!

If you’re looking for an authentic curry, this is the place for you! I am yet to find anywhere in the local area that serves better Indian food. The service was great and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They are happy to help you through the menu and if you’re looking for a place that does not tame down the heat, then you will be happy here! Fantastic food!

Was craving for some Indian food and so happy i came here. They offered veg Manchurian while waiting for the food, it was so good that i ordered another portion of it. Also tried their veg thali which was on point and amazing mango lassi. 5 stars and will visit again!

Best in Indian restaurant in New Malden and Kingston area combined.This was my first visit to Moksha. I had invited a well-travelled 'foodie' friend to join me and was slightly anxious how this would turn out . I needn't have worried. The food was excellent - well presented with a good balance of flavours and spice. Polite and efficient staff were helpful but not intrusive. The atmosphere was cosy and quiet with comfortable seating. Would definitely revisit and would confidently recommend to others. Thank you Moksha!

Tried Moksha delivery as our usual reliable Indian had dedicated itself to rugby for day. Huge mistake. Every component part of the meal was poor and we ordered a lot. 1 dish arrived still frozen in the container 🤢. Someone had forgot to microwave it. Is this the way to run a restaurant? After eating some of the rest, we both felt unwell. This persisted through the night and into the next morning🤮 Update ; I note the restaurant reply which is simply false. I have the Uber eats receipt to prove it obviously 🙄 One thing to get sold dodgy food but another to be told a phantom restaurant delivered it. 🤣 If they didn't deliver the meal I am sure they won't mind refunding my money? They now get 1 star for service too. Never again!

They delivered a meal but forgot to microwave one of the containers so it arrived fully frozen. In reviewing this error online, the "owner" replied by suggesting that another restaurant must have delivered it? I double checked the bill. Moksha definitely got my money. Most odd. Avoid.

"Nothing good ever came out of a toasted vada pav" - an old saying in the bylanes of Bombay. While I may have made that up, I believe it summarises my view borne out of more than thirty years of eating vada pav in the city of its birth. Moksha not only served it toasted, but their red chutney - the crowning glory of any vada pav worth its name - was flat and not at all spicy. If their defence is that it caters to local tastes, I do accept it. The vada itself wasn't bad tasting. Among other dishes, their papdi chaat was pretty good. They also served us an aloo chaat on the house, which I believe they were planning to add to the menu, which was very good. On the main course, their pulled jackfruit kofta was slightly disappointing because the koftas were more potato and less jackfruit. I did point this out to them, and they explained that they used potatoes to bind the koftas, as it's difficult to make soft balls out of just pulled jackfruit. This was a fair comment and it was good to see them accept feedback and offer explanations. I must add that the staff were extremely courteous and friendly, so full marks on that front.
