Unfortunately, Sarada is permanently closed. After many years with a chequered history, it is no longer. Be interesting to see what goes in there instead. Now frequenting Agra.

THIS RESTAURANT IS DIVINE. It is our FAVOURITE ever restaurant for Indian food. Writing this is making me so hungry. I have tried countless Indian takeaways, even tho I am South Asian myself and can eat the same food at home! Hands down, there is nothing in England which can beat this restaurant. We have been coming here as a family for over 20 years. It is simply superb. The chicken tikka biryani is a firm favourite. I also love the chicken madras or vindaloo! The tandoori chicken is just so succulent and flavoursome. Oh it is just so superb. PLEASE give it a go. It's incredible.

Rubel and his Dad have introduced some great new dishes including the long-awaited and delicious Paneer Tikka (Yum!). Comfortable and unpretentious and extremely friendly Anglodeshi restaurant, best in the area by far. We went here on the recommendation of fiends who used to eat here regularly for many years. It has recently had a rather unprofessional face-lift which didn't aid the lack of ambiance or atmosphere. We hoped the food would make up for these failing, but it didn't.

Sunday evening 16th September and we visited this restaurant for the first time in about 4 years, as we moved from the area. It is situated a short walk from the Travelodge in Tolworth, where we were staying the night. The resturant has had its problems recently, but delighted to report that it has now reopened and has been refurbished and redecorated and it looked really well.We ordered a chicken jalfrezi, chicken rogan gosh, a rice and a chapatti we also ordered 2 large bottles of Cobra beer. Our food when served was very tasty, and the food was as good as ever.We had a most enjoyable meal, and really good value, our bill was just over £25.

Went for a chicken dupiaza and me mate had a chicken dhansak. Shared Bombay potato and a sag aloo along with a Peshwari and a Kulcha nan. The dhansak had a really good bite to it. Plenty of chicken in a very rich creamy sauce. The dupiaza was really flavoursome with loads of different spices exploding on the tongue. Again the chicken was plentiful and succulent. Left the lips tingling which is what I like from a curry. The Kulcha nan was full of veggies and went well with both curries. The staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All in all a very good meal and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Sarada has been one of the most reliably excellent restaurants in Surbiton for many years. It is back after a facelift, with the same wonderful chef, and it is superb. Quiet, attentive waiters who know their profession. Wonderful food - try the chef's special Lamb Peshwari, or any of the exotic Balti dishes. Try anything - they are all good.

We often get takeout from Sarada - if you order as a walk-in you can sit and have a draught kingfisher beer whilst the food is prepared (about 20 minutes). This is a very trad curry house, and reassuring because of it. The food is good, and good value for money - there's 10% discount for paying cash on a takeout. The jalfrezi has just the right degree of spice; the korma is rich and silky. We much prefer Sarada to the curry house across the road, which because of it's 'contemporary' style seems more attractive to some. Sarada is old-school and all the better for it.

The food tasted good and we all finished pretty much everything, but then again you tend to when you're hungry! The issue is the restaurant itself and service. After ordering a Lamb Tikka Balti, I was dissapointed that I got a slightly spicy Lamb Tikka Massala with a slice of tomato and pepper on top. The waiter tried to assure me that it was a Balti, but I could distinctly taste classic Massala flavours. Nevertheless, the dish was pleasant. Though my friend found the Onion Bhaji too greasy and another found the Tandoori Mixed Grill a bit too dry.

We actually ate here 3 times in the space of 6 weeks and each meal was faultless. The service was efficient and the waiters pleasant, explaining the dishes as they were ordered, if they were unfamiliar. I like mine hot, too hot for the wife so I tried a lamb vindaloo on the first visit, lovely tender meat and very spicey. On the second visit I went for the phal - and that was HOT but most enjoyable. Sarada is truly a fabulous find in Surbiton, Surrey. I've been a loyal Prithi patron for the last twelve years that I've been visiting Surbiton/Kingston-Upon-Thames. Although I'll not abandon Prithi I assure you that a visit to Sarada will be on my dining itinerary on all future visits to Surrey. My son and I enjoyed two dinners at Sarada as we sampled the menu from top to bottom. We found the recipes to be quite diverse and the ingredients of our dinner selections to be wonderfully fresh. Although the service can be a bit surly from time to time that's all a part of the most eclectically enjoyable encounter of the Sarada scene. Don't miss out on the nice selection of Indian beers and other beverages served at a reasonable price.

We didn't book in advance. Friday night, we checked trip advisor for the best indian restaurant in Surbiton. We ended up here. We weren't dissappointed. Poppodoms and pickles, beer and water. Main courses of lamb dansak and chicken tikka were good. Meat was succulent and spicy, without being too spicy. Nan was good. Overall a good experience. Paid by card, bit confusing as the gratuity i though was the total, ended up giving £42 tip, realized my mistake the next day, and the restaurant refunded the money. Will go back on my next visit to Surbiton.

Good and good value Indian restaurant. The decor's a bit old and tired and there's nothing surprising on the menu but it does what it says on the tin. Chicken curries come with large pieces of chicken breast and most dishes have a good kick. The breads, naans and chapatis, are tasty too with good texture. And half a litre of very drinkable house wine for £6.50 cannot be bad!

Yes, I'm another long time customer - buying takeaways from here for over twenty years now since I first come to Kingston as a student. The decor's not changed much in that time and, like going into a decent old boozer, this gives it's own unique charm. My wife who's vegetarian has never found anywhere better in the UK (recommends the Bombay aloo and Balti Vegetable Dansak) and I'm a fan of main dish variations based on their chicken tikka on the bone. The quality wobbled a bit earlier this year when the old guard finally retired, which prompted us to try a few other places, but the new management seem to be back on track and Sarada is once again our first choice for a great tasting, good value curry.

I have visited Sarada for many years and it goes without saying that they have some of the best Indian cuisine around. Great, flavoursome curries and excellent accompaniments such as rice and naans. We always go here for a good, traditional Indian meal obviously Anglicised as they always used to be. It makes no pretences to be other than what it is and I have been going there for 18 years or so. The restaurant has been there for donkey's years and is a testament to it's consistency of good food and excellent service. All the dishes on offer are the standard ones one would expect but are full of flavour and reassuring to the palate that you still can get a good old fashioned Indian meal at a very reasonable price. If this is what you like, then it's definitely a place worth paying visit. As long as you don't expect Michelin starred cuisine (with the accompanying prices!) you won't be disappointed. Go there!

The food is not bad although it is far from being authentic Indian. It is kind of bland and dishes require more seasoning. The waiters are very friendly but that is not enough for me to come back. The only good memory I will have is that I had the chance to try the Phal which is a LOT spicier than the VIndaloo and really proved to be a challenge. In Surbiton I would rather order from Nawab to Go or have a normal dinner at Indian Tapas.

Food is average, as was the price. Selected this out of the many Indian restaurants in the surrounding areas due to the good reviews. Waiters were polite enough to start, but forgot one of the drinks ordered and when we asked it seemed an inconvenience with eye rolls. One of our Naans was undercooked, was made too thick at the edge and was still raw dough, it was replaced but again with eye rolls and huffing and puffing from the waiter. The sauces (mango chutney, mint sauce, onion salad and pickle) were taken away after our starter of Papadums but we asked to keep them for our mains, again the waiters were not happy about this. It seemed like we were being demanding because of their reactions. After the meal we were all very full, but fancied trying a traditional desert on the menu... The waiter presented the desert with one spoon and we dared to ask for more as he stomped off and threw them on the table. There were 2 other small families in the restaurant, they weren't rushed- just bored and couldn't be bothered. Was very disappointing as the restaurant itself it quite cute! But when you're spending nearly £100 on an average meal you could have purchased at a take away, it would be nice to have a smile with the service!

I liked our visit to Sarada. Not because of its décor, which is firmly based on the 1960s, nor because of the waft of spices that left an impression in our outer clothing that hasn't dissipated some fifteen hours later. The food is the thing here and it's good. well prepared, well served, and enjoyed most heartily. I'm not a local but most of the people in the restaurant seemed to be known to the staff as regulars, which is always a good sign.
