The food served was cold. Service was slow. We were offered a very cramped space.

Dave and the team were brilliant and it was such a special birthday celebration. Wonderful prawn curry. Fresh huge prawns and food so good all rounds. Lovely location in the river

Food was absolutely beautiful, they have a small menu compared to most places, but that means they can concentrate on doing it well, every dish was just packed with taste. Beautiful looking restaurant also

Fairly poor. Website promotion says 20% discount on food Sunday to Thursday, but not honoured when we got the bill on a Wednesday. Similar happened the last time a visited a couple of years ago. In short don't bother.

After booking a table, when we entered the restaurant we were sat in the back room along with the owner/manager computer and paperwork on one of the adjacent tables. We were given a drinks and food menu, Cobra beer was advertised and when I came to place my order for drinks Cobra is now not available but Kingfisher that wasn’t offered is now on tap, we also wanted a glass of pino wine but this was also not available so a glass of Sauvignon blanc was the alternative. We had a few popadom to start with pickles etc all good, placed our order for the main course and when the meal was served to the table, the curry arrived but no boiled rice? it’s on its way we were informed, eventually I got out of my chair to ask one of the staff members and he removed a portion of rice from another order to fulfill our order, No set table, no table cloth, cold plates to eat from and a general lack of care

Amazing Indian Food with Fantastic Service and Ambience

Always been a good experience and would definitely recommend for an authentic Indian restaurant. Downgrading my review, as the owner always seem to be screaming at the people working there and that does effect your experience.

Really good food and excellent service - this has become one of our favourite Indian restaurants in the area. We came with family and had a lovely table overlooking the river, and efficient service ahead of going to the theatre. Mango lassi particularly good :)

We went for an impromptu dinner and it turned out to be awesome. The ambience is great as it at the riverside, the girl taking our order was happy, spoke Hindi as well when we asked and suggested items which turned out to be so delicious, thank you. I recommend you to try avocado ke gole and the chicken curry (if you prefer spicy). I’d happily dine again any day here.

I recently had lunch at this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, and despite the fact that only the outdoor tables were occupied, the service was surprisingly slow. We ordered the tandoori gobi, expecting a delicious grilled cauliflower dish. Instead, we were served what appeared to be boiled cauliflower with an undercooked marinade, resulting in a raw, bitter flavour that was incredibly unappetising. The baigan ka bharta, a traditional Punjabi dish that is supposed to feature smoky, flavorful aubergine, was a major letdown. The dish was almost entirely made up of onions and peas, with barely any trace of aubergine to be found. It was disappointing to the point where we couldn’t even taste the main ingredient. While the naan and paneer butter masala were passable, they were by no means exceptional—just the best of an overall disappointing experience. Despite having plenty of leftovers, we chose not to take them home, as the thought of eating this unappealing food again was simply unappealing. We left the restaurant extremely disappointed in the quality of the food and will not be returning.

As regular customers of Chakra we can confidently say that this place never disappoints. From the moment we step in, we're greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that makes us feel right at home. This is a fantastic restaurant right by the river. Our food was delicious. The halloumi was cooked to perfection and the chicken saag was one of the tastiest we’ve had. Also the hazelnut gelato was absolutely delicious, so creamy and smooth. The staff were very attentive and Dev was a force to be reckoned with! It was because of his charm and banter that we decided to give Chakra’s a go and we weren’t disappointed. We will definitely go back.

Great food, great ambience. We were a group of large family of 7, we were well looked after. Very friendly and attentive service from everyone. My husband and I are regular and loyal customers at Chakra. The staff and atmosphere at Chakra are exceptionally pleasant. This is the best Indian food I have tasted in London, with its unique flavours of India. Each dish is a delightful blend of aromatic spices and fresh ingredients, creating a symphony of tastes that truly represent the rich cilulinary heritage of India.

Ate here with the family and loved it. The food was great. They really looked after us with great service from Nehal. So friendly. Highly recommend this place right on the river.

The Menu offers a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. I especially loved the creative twists on classic dishes like Paneer Butter Masala & Naan.. thanks to the exceptional service provided by Nehal. She greeted us with a warm smile that instantly made us feel welcome..

After Punjabi restaurant in London this is basically bad… Lamb was cold and not fresh.. and chicken was undercooked.. Looks like someone bought take away box from tescos for 5pound and charged it 30pound to a customer.. Don’t waste your money on this chakra scam when you can get more fresh and quality stuff from Waitrose, Tesco or Aldi, microwave it and eat… honestly doesn’t make any sense eating here and paying premium for something that comes from Tesco anyway…

Excellent setting for top quality Indian food. The riverside location is stunning during summer afternoons and evenings all year round! Service is top quality, warm and efficient and some great recommendations. The Indian twist Chinese dishes are the best, don’t miss!! Bar is nice with a decent selection of cocktails. Tables are decently spaced out, clean restrooms.

The food was really delicious. Very authentic indian food. Aakarsh and nehal were great with greeting and making sure everything was as per our preference. Overall everything was quite good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Chakra Kingston. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the cocktails were equally impressive. I particularly recommend the "Sholay" cocktail, expertly crafted by Mithisha, who provided excellent service. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable culinary experience.

Outdated vibes all around. This spot screams budget and boredom! From the cutlery to the ingredients and service, it's all a poor quality. Waited an hour for our food, and it was underwhelming. Ate it, but the flavours were MIA. Saw some Instagram influencers hogging a corner table – watch out for phony hype. Chicken dishes were swimming in sauce with scarce chicken. When we mentioned the chicken is way too less, the waiter just shrugged said “I know” and left! We're giving this unhygienic food spot a hard pass and won't be suggesting it to anyone for authentic Indian food. For a riverside view, pick any other joint – you'll have a better time elsewhere. They even water down the hand wash with way too much water 🙄 AVOID!

Wonderful dinner at the end of a long day. The service was great, and the Host was kind and helpful with questions and selections. The place to eat before or after a river stroll !!

The manager welcomed us so warmly. Me and my father and my mother and my wife went for Father’s Day. The staff who looked after us was Mitisha a young girl and she was outstanding. So well spoken in English and smart. She made my parents feel comfortable. I was very impressed by her. At Chakra with young people like her as the staff then me and my family will go to Chakra again and again. Well done chakra.

Ridiculously expensive. A coke bottle of 100ml is £4!!!! That doesn’t even make sense!!!! And the food is expensive too… per person it’ll cost u no less than £30

Great food and service also generous with dishes..Plenty to choose from the menu.It wasn't the sunniest days but the place is covered from rain or strong sun One can still enjoy the view of the river.. The owner Mr Dev Singh with many years of hospitality and catering experience was also a good customer service professional.

Got pani puri and chicken lollipops as starters, we're bang on, puris we're filled with delicious chat and pani was rightly spiced, the garlic chutney served with chicken lollipop was amazing. Got Amritsari fish with wedges, butter chicken with butter tandoori roti and dum murg biryani for the mains, mango lassi and sweet and salty lemonade, finished off with pistachio, mango and malai kulfis. Staff was amazing, friendly and fast with the service.

First of all we had a reservation for the restaurant, when we reached we have someone asking as at the door and also the waiter asking as the same question, our reservation was at 1915 but we were late but was also asked to wait. Ordered food which was not a great taste, ordered highway chicken which had no curry and was looking like watery in gravy wise, the waiter recommended that stating it would be like chicken tikka, informed the waiter to cook it spicy but it was not even spicy, the restaurant was not busy and it was taking time to receive food on the table, ordered a beer which never came, the manager was doing most of the work, he is training staff whilst on shift so professionalism was zero. A very bad experience on first visit as well the taste. Need lots of improvement!!

Talking about food taste, it's like totally cooked by newly joined chef. Talking about indian tastes, never you can serve. Poor service as well we order drink that never serve. Even they serve food without cutlery and after 50 min wait even restaurant not busy. Never recommend anyone to go there.

The service was excellent, Granth served us so well and he was so nice with the choices, he always come to check on us and always ask if we need something, the food was really tasty and the drinks were delicious. Really enjoyed the meal and really liked the staff, I recommend it a lot!

Chakra is a lovely restaurant. Our family and I had an amazing time and the staff there Dev and Granth were absolutely wonderful. All very attentive, great food and drinks and a beautiful restaurant to be in - well recommended!

Went there for a takeaway and, the food and service was amazing. However, while waiting, I noticed the way the owner/manager (the mid aged guy with glasses) was treating the foh staff, he was being very rude and it was clearly visible how they were actually SCARED of even walking past him. Didn’t really feel good for the staff. But otherwise everything was good.

The food here are wonderful ! We have ordered 3 dishes, including grilled cauliflower, chicken, stir fried egg plants etc. and all are delicious. The waitress is also friendly and the environment is cosy !!

Disappointed, given old chips and the curry lacked flavour. The biryani and naan bread was okay though. Service was terrible too.

Horrible service. First manager didn't want to clean table for us. He did it with big problem. Then I ordered drinks, staff member bring drinks to the gable and menu. Then ask if we want to order any food, we said no and waitress said, thats ok. Then manager came and said that we have to order food. Whe. I said we dont want any food, just drinks, he was so upset and start forcing us to order anything. I said if they will inform us at the begin, we will go somewhere else for a drink. Then in a minute they came and bribg bill to pay straight away. No sorry, no thank you, nothing. We will never come back to this place.

Authentic Indian food (Delhi flavours) right besides Thames. Over the years, they've maintained their simplicity, serive and above all - Indian flavours. Ideal for lunch, dinner and then a long walk by the river. Plenty of car parking available nearby at Bentall car park.

I just ordered butter chicken and chilly chicken .... I used to order from here a lot but I was shocked to see the quantity they sent .... I was charged £22 for the minimal quantity which can't even satisfy one person.. ..this is soo ridiculous bcoz they charged a lot for this and they are reducing their quantity....even the food was cold....I'm done ordering from them....this is so unfair....

First visit, and the place certainly didn't let us down. Food was scrumptious and the dessert was just out of this world. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. Kudos to Granth for going the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Will definitely be coming again. Thank you!

I ordered butter chicken and naan and was very happy with it. It was amazing in the first bite. But when I took my other bite, before putting it in mouth I saw a huge long hair which was all stuck in a chicken piece. It ruined my mood and I had to throw the food.

Ordered Dum biryani, egg fried rice and dumplings, food was great and delicious. Service is also super fast compared to other restaurants. Food came is 20 minutes after ordered. Staffs were super nice and helpful.

My experience at this Indian restaurant was disappointing. The lamb served in a curry was unexpectedly chewy, and the inclusion of Chinese items in the menu felt out of place for an Indian restaurant. Poppadoms with mayonnaise instead of mango chutney further added to the bizarre food choices. The overall menu lacked authenticity, offering Indian dishes that deviated from traditional flavors. The restroom facilities were in urgent need of renovation, falling short of cleanliness standards. On a positive note, the staff was polite and attentive. Unfortunately, the odd food selection and hygiene concerns make it unlikely for me to visit again.

I went for the first time to this restaurant with a friend,it was very early and it was empty but we had a very nice view overlooking the river and lovely food,I had vegetarian curry and my friend chicken curry,we found strange they also had a Chinese menu although on that evening there was no Chinese cook working.The Indian selection is not what you would expect in your typical restaurant but it was tasty and nice,the chilly naan bread different and lovely.The best part was the waitress,a sweet young girl that was very nice.We couldn't give her a tip because we didn't have cash as the tip by card was not going to her so we felt bad vlbut she didn't mind.I asked her name and wrote it down but can't find the piece of paper.

Excellent food, The chicken tikka was recommended by our server Granth and it was excellent the best I have had. Lovely restaurant.

Negatives: Mains were poor and I got food poisoning from the Lamb Rogan Josh. One of my friends complained about his Lamb Shank as it was tough. Restaurant was pretty cold. Positives: Service was good and friendly. Staff were accommodating to friend's complaint about food and took 50% off the bill for that item. Gluten free options were available and they cooked in separate oils for my friend. Garlic naan was well done.

This is quite simply the worst curry house I’ve ever visited. We went there for a friends birthday and the food was very average and the temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. I believe there heating is insufficient. The manager was unwilling to do anything to resolve. Avoid this restaurant especially on a cold night.
