Roz ana in Kingston upon Thames

Popped in for happy hour and had a couple of snacks too. The cocktails are great and the nibbles we had delighted our pallets too. We were served by Gergana who was friendly, informative and just added to the lovely experience. This was my first time at Roz Ana and it will not be my last. Added bonus is it’s a dog friendly venue and they brought a water bowl for our dog. If you like a good dark & stormy, this is the place for you. Thank you very much, we had a lovely time!

Amazing service from Terzieva and lovely food

Customer is NOT the King! I have been gathering the courage to write this review after a lot of thought about what I recently experienced. Before I begin, let me warn you—this might be a long read. I have been a regular visitor to this place, first discovering it about a year ago. Since then, I’ve visited multiple times and have generally had good experiences. So, when I was invited there last Wednesday by a university friend, I was quite excited—being the foodie that I am. It was a special occasion for them, as they had just tied the knot. Having enjoyed the food here before, I had high expectations. The evening started well, with fewer diners in the restaurant, which allowed for more privacy and a cheerful atmosphere. However, things took a disappointing turn when the first platter was served. The bride and groom had invited us collectively. But when the starter arrived, our host politely asked the server about the portion size and additional plates, as we were a group of about a dozen people. Surprisingly, the server snapped back, saying that the host (who had previously worked at the restaurant) should know what to expect as they worked here. This was unrequited and not professional seemingly very embarrassing. When the host’s partner requested plates, the server, apparently named Gary, curtly suggested as the menu didn’t have plates to be served upon. This was both shocking and embarrassing. We were expected to share two platters (and two more that followed later) among the group, with portions so meager that it felt more like a tasting menu. Polite as always, we suggested to our hosts that we could skip the set menu and order separately. Despite the evident confusion and awkwardness, we decided to carry on with the meal. Having dined here before, I clearly remember the portions being more reasonable and the service exemplary. On earlier visits, a staff member named Tanaya served us—she was polite, courteous, and empathetic, which is why I came to love this place. Unfortunately, this time was a stark contrast. As for the food, while the lamb was exquisite, we noticed some serious issues. One dish (aloo jeera) appeared undercooked, and its smell suggested that stale oil had been used. When we brought this to the server’s attention, the response was dismissive: “The chef said this is how it is cooked and you have to eat it”. Neither we were offered a replacement or a change of dish. It was as if the customer was being penalised for being there. I had previously known the chef whose cooking was a key reason I kept coming back. However, it seemed either the chef had changed or the quality had dropped significantly. The butter chicken (or a similar chicken dish) tasted like it had been refrigerated and reheated. While the lamb saved the day to some extent, the overall experience was disappointing. To summarize, the way our large group was handled was utterly disorganized and lacked basic courtesy, leaving us feeling humiliated. We had some esteemed guests with us, and they, too, were unimpressed with the overall experience.

Just the best meal and very reasonably priced. We were very impressed with the service and watched with glee as Terzieva spun a dozen plates and whizzed around serving with a smile and a really beautifully positive demeanour. Attentive and truly exceptionally competent as a waitress. The food was incredible. A fabulous night. Thanks.

Wow, this is the best Indian meal I can remember eating. Starters were fantastic, and then so were the mains. The service was excellent, Terzieva seemed to have eyes in the back of her head and was super friendly. I will definitely be going back

Every time we visit we have a great meal. There’s a monthly regional menu plus some really interesting curries (I enjoyed the malibar red mullet curry, my husband always has the Goan pork vinha d’alho).

First visit to Rozana - absolutely recommend. Beautiful food, great atmosphere, lovely staff. Lovely bar for pre drinks and not rushed. Will return soon. Thank you ☺️

Second time I’ve eaten at Roz Ana, and as always it was delicious. My Lamb Shank was amazing, service was really good, staff very friendly. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

I have been here twice and have had a great experience both times. The food is excellent: traditional cuisine with a focus on flavors rather than heat. The cocktails are also great with a welcome Happy Hour! The service has always been top-notch, and the restaurant has a cosy yet lively atmosphere. Can highly recommend and will certainly return.

The biriyani is just ghee rice. Where’s the salt and the cardamom flavour? The chicken are small chunks as well. Same for the veg biriyani we ordered which had broccoli??!

Some of the best Indian food that I’ve had in all of London! The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious and authentic. The menu has all the North Indian classics with some rare dishes like Amritsari macchi that I’ve rarely seen in any other Indian spot in London 😋

It was Saturday night and we didn't have a booking so were offered the high bar tables and advised the wait for a normal table for 4 would be about 35 mins. We accepted the high tables as we were pretty hungry but within 10 mins a normal table became free and we were able to move. The service was fantastic, we were well looked after by Gerry, attentive but not too much and the food was gorgeous, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Thank you!

Staff were really friendly and accommodating. We held my grandma's 90th birthday here and I would recommend for any function or occasion. Food was amazing as well!

It has been quite a while since our last visit to Roz Ana but we rectified this on the weekend and went for a family dinner. Food and service were top notch! There were some wonderful new dishes on the menu, along with existing favourites. The red snapper and the biryani were highlights. Will not be waiting so long for our next visit. This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Absolute best Indian restaurant in London. Tried so many dishes all of which were amazing. The menu is constantly changing with specials from different regions with each new dish bringing a new twist and wonderful flavour. Not to mention the staff was incredibly welcoming & helpful. Will definitely be back!

I ordered from here on uber eats and unfortunately was missing a garlic naan. The food tastes great but unfortunately this ruined my experience and I will not likely be ordering from here again.

A new menu has arrived! Still some of the old favourites, but quite a few new dishes. Many more vegetarian options. The quality and presentation seems to have gone up a notch. Caramelised pepper prawns are a must as is the new scallops dish served on a bed of Gobi 65. Tastes divine. Thanks to all at Rozana for a very special evening

Great spot! We had some warm curries and momos from their seasonal menu after the Chelsea game. Wonderful food and wine list. Excellent service as well.

The food as always was amazing. Such lovely staff and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.

Myself & partner went to this beautiful place (always wanted to go) decorated with fairylights outside and absolutely stunning inside. To note: In the bathroom there were no working lights except candles.. but I quite liked that! Our server Gargana remembered our order without having to write down and everything was spot on. Food was absolutely delicious and very filling. The mango mule is a delicious refreshing drink alongside. 100% recommend.

Everything was fantastic. We were looked after from start to finish and the food was excellent. If there are Momos on the specials menu and you like spice, get them! So much flavour. We’ll be coming back soon for sure!

My husband's 70th birthday - a party for 30 friends was absolutely brilliant. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating & imaginative in the planning, the food was superb & plentiful, the atmosphere relaxed, the service excellent. We can't recommend RozAna highly enough. One of my favourite restaurants of any kind anywhere. Pitch perfect food, with a menu that manages to be simultaneously authentic and imaginatively contemporary. The chicken Laphroaig masala - and the chocolate samosas for dessert - will change your life! We also hosted a party in one of the spaces there recently and the service, atmosphere and food even for a big group with different dietary needs were all impeccable. Thank you Roz Ana!

The best Indian food in Kingston. Really a high level restaurant with a friendly and professional service. Our waiter, Gargana, was super efficient and lovely. We came at the Roz Ana for the first time almost ten years ago when we were living in Kingston and any time they beyond our expectations. My little daughter do love the soft shell crabs, super recommended.

Decent Indian food, hygienic, and better than your average indian restaurant in london. As a pakistani I do have high standards, their samosas were a little under seasoned and chaat was made from sweetened yogurt (the concept of sweet yogurt doesn't even exist in india/ pakistan). Some main courses are pretty delightful, while others are OK. But great service staff is always prompt, polite and helpful. And the restaurant has a decent atmosphere.

The food was authentic with the right amount of spices and portions. Nothing like eating food in the UK if you're not in India!

stopped at roz ana’s per the recommendation of our airbnb hosts and it did not disappoint! we ordered the aloo tikki chaat, chicken tikka masala, and lazeez lamb, with a side of rice and roti, all packed with flavor. it’s also air conditioned!

The biryani is out of this world. It's the place to come for your special night out. Try the seafood special for appetiser then choose the Goat curry... finish off with rice pudding or mango sorbet.

We are regulars. It’s always good.

We ordered from here for 10 years and have always enjoyed. Giving the food 4 stars because when we last ordered the meat they served felt old and liver like and was inedible (Lazeez lamb). It is also becoming too expensive to afford as a Tupperware of curry is now between £14-£17. However, usually the standard of food is amazing so hopefully a one off experience.

Excellent food, great ambience! Its suited for a fine dine experience so justifies the slightly higher pricing. Certain orders may take time but I am assuming that is only because its been made fresh. Overall wonderful experience.

The best curry I’ve ever had! So delicious and authentic, I am now a regular customer. Also is great as a delivery/takeaway. The staff are also so lovely. Cannot recommend enough :)

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It was very busy, clearly popular! The staff were friendly but sadly it was an hour wait between starter and main, which we found a bit long. Luckily one of the waitresses apologised for this but it’s a shame it was such a wait as we probably wouldn’t rush back.

Best Indian restaurant we’ve been to in Kingston and probably London ! Try the started with the chefs special! Delicious, authentic, traditional, amazing quality and flavour and affordable! Can’t fault it, and our waitress Gergana was so lovely, we got 10% off our bill by signing up to a locals app to support local independent restaurants! Win win!
