Fantastic experience. Excellent service, ambience and delicious food. I've only been there once, but from my experience there I can't understand the negative reviews left by others. I will certainly return. My new favourite Indian restaurant

Red Rose has made me eat Indian food again. Aroma, flavor and excellent presentation. Friendly service and very friendly manager. The best Indian restaurant.

Very good takeaway, dishes all very fresh and good amount of meat and vegetables / not just all sauce like some can be. Good quality, would have again.

There were 9 of us from work. The waiters were really friendly. The food was delicious and a reasonable price. I am looking forward to the next visit!!!

Pretty average. All just ok. Was a busy night and we hadn't booked and they kindly found is a table. Place could have been cleaner. Food was average. Masala so much overly sugary sauce and not much chicken. Would return if out in Surbiton but wouldn't make a point of going here.

Excellent food as always. The meat, whether chicken or lamb is always tender - a good sign that the restaurant cares about their cooking. No need to go anywhere else in the Surbiton area.

One of the best options for Indian curries around kingston. If you can handle the heat, ask for madras hot with any curry 🌶. I loved the food, especially the mango lassi. Must try.

After visiting red rose I felt like I had to leave a review which I do not normally do so here we go, on arrival I was the only person in there first impressions was good nice decor but don’t be fooled by this after looking at the menu I asked the waiter if I was to have a balti would it come in a proper balti dish as I like to eat it that way in mid discussion the owner comes over asked what’s a matter I told him about the dish what I wanted he then asked me if it was my first time to a curry house😂 I explained to him I live in leicester and have had many curry’s and I know what I’m talking about, so he reassured me it comes in a balti dish 😅(great) I also asked for my chilli panner a little crispy so I wait, first up the panneer like soggy cheese no crunch I felt disappointed and worried about my main surely there not going to mess this up I’m the only one in here remember, over comes the waiter with my dish. I look at him and he looks at me I gently say what is that dish ? He replies balti dish again I gently say that’s not a that a dish so manager comes out we have words I kindly asked you for a balti dish he swears it’s a balti dish can’t win with these people, so attempted to eat it the chicken was tough but the sauce was ok at best , as I was sitting looking outside I noticed another curry house opposite!! Very busy smiling faces So my advice to anyone wanting a curry is maybe try the one across the road they might give you what u ask for

Attentive servers, delicious food, very fare prices. GF, celiac and vegan friendly. I can't wait to eat here again.

Yhe food was cold and the chicken tikka masala tasted of coconut and was too sweet like a korma.

The worst of Chilli paneer we ever had, one doesn’t put chilli’s and say it’s chilli paneer. Wouldn’t recommend if you really want an authentic dish.

Just had a takeaway from here for the second time. The first time was lovely but this time the naan bread was over cooked so quite dry/tough and the half tandoori chicken was dry and really small. I’ll probably try somewhere else next time which is a shame as it’s so local.

The best curry in surbiton! Have people coming from all over London to try it and a couple have said it’s one of their favs too. Absolutely love it in there.

Well the Dansak was great, pops crispy, but the Karahi was tasteless and the Sag Paneer was awful (soggy and little tasteless cheese). Overall very disappointing.

Wrong dish sent. Both side dishes tastes exactly the same with no flavour like tinned tomatoes. Curry sauce was thin like water. Didn't enjoy

1st time we've visited Red Rose as we were working and staying in a hotel locally. There are a few Indian restaurants within the vicinity and the Red Rose seemed to be the most populular so we entered and was warmly welcomed. We both ordered poppadoms with chutney tray as our starter, and then both ordered the Tandoori mixed grill with garlic naan upgrade acompanied with Saag Aloo, to be washed down with a few large Cobra beers for our evening dining. I have to admit that the food was absolutely spot on and I would recommend this dish if you enjoy a tandoor ( I do!) So on a final mention, We will most definitely revisit Red Rose again if we ever in the area again! Many thanks and well done Red Rose 👍

PLEASE PLEASE can you clean up the side of your restaurant on Cottage Grove and have your staff put their cigarette buds in a bin, the front maybe clean but doesn't look good where the kitchen is.

So we’ve just ordered a delivery through Just Eat and the food was really bad and 25mins late , restaurant fault . The whole meal was lacking in any flavour . The fish was burnt and flavourless , the dhal hadn’t been cooked together with the spices so was like lumpy water in a load of butter , the okra was not fresh and extremely burnt and tasted like it had been cooked in some sort of Indian pickle to cover up the underlying burnt offerings . Anyhow won’t be ordering again, lesson learnt

Order was 25 mins late , restraunt at fault …. The whole thing lacked any flavour . The fish was burnt with out flavour , the dhal hasn’t even been cooked together and has something in it which I have pictured and the okra was burnt and not fresh at all . I don’t see how this restaurant is still open as it serves extremely unpleasant food , the ingredients arnt fresh either . This is not Indian food at its best

It was okay experience dining in Red Rose. We ordered drinks, starters and the main course. Initially we thought that the starters were cheap but then after looking at the quantity we came to know why. Its kids menu.. 🙂 So, you will have to order many dishes altogether 😁 Saga paneer was okay. Ideally it should be spinach gravy instead of sauteed spinach but that's fine. Dal tadka daal is not authentic but that's not only problem with this restaurant. It's problem with 90% of the restaurants in the UK. Tadka should be over the daal giving the extra flavor. Rotis were good and authentic and we're not just the bread ones. Overall, this restaurant is okay to visit once in a while. Not too good and not to bad 🙂

I’m regular here for takeaways and after this evening’s delivery, my wife and I just had to leave a review! They are the absolute best, the food always 100% and I couldn’t believe it when the delivery driver apologised for being 5 mins beyond the delivery time!?? You guys are awesome!!

A friend and I visited this Indian restaurant yesterday evening. As far as I remember, this is the first time in the numerous reviews that I have written for Tripadvisor that I have not awarded full marks. I'm doing my best to be entirely fair here. We arrived unannounced at 8 pm on a Friday evening. The restaurant was fairly quiet but soon became filled with at least one large party. Our orders were taken promptly and we were served equally promptly. So far so good. However, the tarka dall (£4.95) that I asked for did not come until I'd asked a third time and then was not thick as I'd insisted. This was then rectified. The chicken in the pasanda (£9.95) that I often have in such restaurants was rather tough and the pasanda was neither quite as creamy nor quite as tasty as the ones I've had elsewhere. Nevertheless, it was perfectly edible and enjoyable. My friend told me that the haryali chicken tikka masala (£9.95) that she'd ordered was delicious and I agreed with her when I tried some. Prices (as above) were pretty standard. Perhaps I'm being a bit picky here and have been spoilt by other restaurants that I've visited recently. Be that as it may, there was nothing seriously wrong with our meal and I would not wish to deter readers from paying Red Rose a visit. It's simply that I did not find the meal as enjoyable as I'd hoped. Further, the staff didn't seem as friendly as staff that I normally encounter. I didn't detect any particular atmosphere. The restaurant was perfectly clean and the male lavatory immaculate. The restaurant is situated on a very busy road and while I was able to park my car more or less outside, I doubt that lunchtime eaters would have much of a chance of being able to do the same. To summarise, perfectly good restaurant - but it didn't do a lot for me.

This promised so much, friendly staff and a good menu but regrettably, and all too often these days with curry restaurents the food was very bland and lacked any spice or heat which is what you want from a proper curry. At £45 per head we certainly wont be going back.

Good Indian restaurant with many traditional British style Indian dishes. It has a very typical Indian restaurant interior, mirrors columns, piped Indian music. Good honest restaurant, prices are fair and quality is fine. Service was excellent on my two visits and I would be happy to visit there again.

Got a delivroo from here and when the food arrived 90% of the food had spilled inside the bag and all the film lids had not been put on properly. We rung up to explain the situation to red rose and the rude man on the phone was adament that it was not them, all lids are put on properly and that the delivroo driver and us were to blame for the food spillage. He then pretended he couldn't hear us on the phone and that we should ask deliveroo for a refund. I know as a motorbike driver myself, for a 2 mile trip no matter how crazy you were to drive on a motorbike/scooter there is no way every item with those lids would spill out, poppadoms flew out the bag, naans all over covered in sauce. That's knocked 3 stars off for me. Food very very nice but shame 1 staff member has no regard for customer service

Been here only a few times as I have another favourite; a place I've visited since my teens. But the quality here is one of the best in town!! Thick sauces, great naans, lots of sauces. The interior is really pretty and quite instagrammable, if you're into that. Worth the price. Great service. I usually make a booking. Though one time I did book they didn't have my name down but fortunately I arrived for opening, so they could seat me and my nephew.

While my husband was away, he left my daughter and I just eat vouchers. We tried Red Rose delivery and the food was wonderful. We had veg korma, a chicken biryani and a side of rice. They threw in a small curry for free. The portion sizes were good and it lasted us both two meals. The veg korma was delicious and I would order it again. The delivery time was long, which probably meant the food was made to order so not complaining. I recommend red rose.

A million miles from where this curry house used to be so sad used to be. I had a Chicken Bhuna so sweet is it was horrible like something out of a tin. Never again !!

Usually our go to Indian place but sadly it wasn’t great last night. Food arrived cold and was a little bland! Delivery driver was lovely though

Very disappointing. Ordered Thali for collection. Changed a couple of items and paid the extra. I got there on time but had to wait at least 10 more minutes and then when I got my order I gave it a quick check and there was no nan so I had to go back and wait a further few minutes for the nan. To be fair that was the nicest part of the whole meal, the rest was very average. Anyway when I came on to the main meal, the rice was just a plain rice not the mushroom rice I had paid extra for. Very disappointing. So when I had finished some of the meal (I threw half of it away) I called the restaurant and explained the situation to the manager and he offered to refund just £2 - the difference in what I had paid and what I received. This seemed to be a bit of an insult to me but he didn't want to budge. When I suggested a full refund he got quite shirty and said he would have got someone out to me straight away. When I am half way through a meal I really don't want to wait a further 30 minutes for the rice. His reply was that mistakes happen and I should just accept that. I don't think 2 major mistakes with a simple takeaway is acceptable and the attitude was appalling. So when I said I would leave a review he hung up on me - very professional. They are all smiles when they are taking your money but it all changes when they get it wrong.

Food portions all of a sudden very small

The restaurant is not very large and felt a little cramped. There was a party of boys next to us who were loud and obnoxious. We asked the waiter to speak to them but they didn’t seem to take much notice. The menu is pretty standard stuff. Portion sizes are good but lack flavour. This is an after pub type of place.

Fantastic Indian restaurant & only a 5 minute walk from home. Food was delicious & service impeccable especially when I managed to knock over & break my wine glass! They couldn't have been more attentive as I managed to cut myself too! Will definitely go back & definitely recommend.

The quantity of food for the price was appalling and barely warm. Paid £10.95 for a tiny Korma which was mostly sauce and hardly any chicken in it. The 2 lamb samosas were also tiny for the price. Only a very small portion of rice for £4.75. Do not expect to be left hungry after spending £20 on a meal for one. Won’t be ordering again. Extremely poor value. Other Indian restaurants in the area offer much better portions of equally tasty food for less money. Hope Red Rose will compensate for a very disappointing meal.

I usually really love this restaurant so was looking for a good quality meal. My daughter and I both had chicken but it was not nice, the chicken was over cooked and unpleasant, and the sauces were not at all as good as they usually are. I did phone the restaurant to complain about the quality, but the man on the phone just apologised and said it was the usual chef. We had to throw the food away which is such a shame as it was supposed to be a real treat.

First time visit can highly recomend the welcome was great and the food super tasty. Will definitely return when we are in the Area again.

good food and good service. shubo was very friendly and quick in serving. if you are craving for some spicy indian food head to this place. And if you are craving for really spicy then i recommend naga chicken

We have tried lots of curries in the area since we moved here 7 years ago and this is definitely the best. We get curry delivered every week and it is always absolutely delicious. Whatever we order is fresh and so tasty; it's also very reasonably priced and arrives very promptly every time.

Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. The food was very nice, spicy where it should be, and flavourful. All my friends enjoyed their dishes too. It isn't a 5 star, but it *is* a solid 4.

The only nice thing was the Nan bread everything else was awful especially the chicken which was the horrible processed cubed crap,never go to an Indian that only serves breast it will always be rubbish!

I requested a quiet table when I called..my husband & I were put alongside 4 people..one lady was shouting..using expletives..talking about dirty underwear and toilet rolls..I think she must have been intoxicated to say the least..our food arrived..my husbands lamb dish was tough & tastless..my vegetarian dishes had no flavour whatsoever..even the poppadums had a twangy taste like cooked in rancid oil..very poor food..will not go back..pity it used to be good.

Ordered for delivery ( to Berrylands ) .... Great telephone service, friendly driver delivered hot, tasty food within the stated delivery window. Plain rice was a bit dry but then again plain rice isn't very exciting is it. Pilau rice next time..... Used Sarada for 30+ years but now they are gone the Red Rose is our new Curry venue

Delivery just within time frame. Rice, bread and onion Bhaji average but both currys very disappointing. Onion gravy with Chilli powder and yesterdays left over old tough chicken does not make a Curry. No complexity to the flavour at all. won't go back.

Took too long to arrive (20 mins after the delivery window) and was cold as a result. It’s a fairly expensive place so expect better. Food is good quality and I have been a regular but am unlikely to return now. Complimentary popadoms to apologise for the delay would have been a good idea.

Thankyou so much to the staff at Red Rose Surbiton. They made my autistic grandson's 13th birthday so special they bought him a birthday cake, sang happy birthday to him. George was overwhelmed as were we as a family. I can't thank you enough for making George feel so special. We are regulars at this exceptional restaurant not only is the food great but the staff are so welcoming. Thankyou so much you really made George's day.

Ordered delivery via Uber and all the items came and on time. The lamb Curry I had was odd,it was cut into thin even strip's and tasted synthetic as opposed to chunks of lamb,with some fat on it and the meat breaking or flaking away like expected,this had the texture of liver...very sweet too? One warning if you order Via theirs website there is more choices and cheaper and no delivery. fee,ordering via Uber came up with promotion,but it costs more.

The Red rose one of many Indian restaurants in Surbiton, unfortunately the food does not stand above its competitors or even live up to the flavours and authentic spices that one would expect. The first impression venue was clean and ambience looks, a nice place to go dinner. The service was were things went off track the waiter who took our order was not friendly at all, felt almost like an old grumpy uncle that came from his house wearing casual clothes. The food was no difference all looked nice however it really lacked flavour. I'm no expert in Indian food however I've have been to Mumbai and the daal which is one of the dishes I expected to be right. The food lacked flavour but it wasn't inedible unfortunately the service was the main reason for the poor review.
