Love this place! Always fantastic food and the service is impeccable. Always received great respect from staff and the food is served quickly after ordering. Best indian in the area and never had a bad experience here

Really dissapointed been few times but wont be back .....portion sizes are really small compared to previous visits and cost has increased dont mind paying for food but no good value for money now we all had 4 small tiny bits chicken in our dish rest was sauce and hardly any rice !

Brilliant place food ia fantastic good quality and price

Very disappointed with my first and only visit to this restaurant after hearing so many good things. The Tikka prawn dish was terrible , prawns had not been de-veined and were slightly undercooked and the accompanying sauce was ery watery and tatsed like an instant curry sauce. The South Indian garlic chilli chicken was very bland and tasteless with very little chicken in the sauce. The best bit was the cheese Nan although as they had folded it you ended up with all the cheese on half the nan , very much amateur hour and I will not be going back. They clearly concentrate on delivering superb service in the restaurant but fail to give the same service through their take aways .

This is an excellent restaurant. Extensive menu and the food was truly delicious. The staff were very friendly and the service was lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit. Definitely book though as it was busy even on a Monday evening in early March!

Food was excellent, service was just as good. Only down side was the loudness of the drunk people at one of the tables. Would revisit again.

Very pleased with our delivery last night. After being disappointed with other local restaurants recently I had vowed to stay away from ordering Indian food from Kirkcaldy, however, I realised I hadn't given Amritsar a try yet, or at least not for a long time. I am very glad I did. The chicken tikka masala was just as it should be and the garlic chilli chicken masala was incredibly tasty, these two dishes complement each other well. The naan bread was still soft and not at all hard around the edges and ends like other deliveries. We were very impressed and will order again. Update - sat in yesterday evening, had the garlic chicken tikka karahi and again the food was excellent quality, would be happy with this kind of quality in the centre of Edinburgh. Food served quickly, highly efficient staff.

First time in this restaurant in fact I think my first trip to Kirkcaldy. Restaurant staff had us at our seats super quick. Food was lovely and staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended we will definitely be back !

Went for business lunch today, Friday with my husband. Quick service, excellent food and all staff very friendly and welcoming. We're not from Kirkcaldy but definitely would visit again if lived nearer.

I don’t normally write these reviews- but I would like to take the time to acknowledge how incredible the whole experience was here at Amritsar- the staff was beyond friendly and accommodating to our party of 8 on a tight schedule, and the food was other worldly. I travel quite a bit for work, and can say that this was hands down some of the finest Indian cuisine I have had yet. Incredible flavors, cooked to perfection- and all delivered at very reasonable prices in a great amount of time. If this restaurant existed where I live it would be a weekly stop. Next time I’m in Kirkcaldy you know where to find me- stuck in my chair with a Tikka Masala smile. Thank you to the whole staff and kitchen at Amritsar; I will never forget my dinner as long as I live.

Whenever we visit Kirkcaldy, this restaurant tends to be the reason for our visit - we are traveling from Glasgow and South Lanarkshire just for this place, because the food is THAT good! The place is very popular and I highly recommend booking in advance before you visit, otherwise you might be disappointed being unable to get a table and having to eat elsewhere - we've had that happen before, so lesson learnt, we now book a day in advance. The food is fantastic and good value for money, especially if you buy the chicken tikka masala, as it comes with either pilau rice or nan bread. The desserts are really reasonably priced at £3.50 to £3.99. I can highly recommend the after dinner mint sundae! The staff are very efficient, friendly and polite. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Kirkcaldy. My only gripe, is the restaurant is small and the booths are very cramped, especially if you also have shopping bags with you. It is worth visiting early, as it gets busy quickly and the atmosphere can quickly become very noisy. I really highly recommend this place for great food and a great service. Two thumbs up!

We have been there loads of times, love it, young waitress that served us today was brilliant I asked if there was a curry I could have between a korma and Dopiaza, she recommended the tikka Masala I wasn’t sure she said if I didn’t like it I could change it, was a brilliant decision, she did come back to see that I was happy with it, service and food amazing staff brilliant and friendly, can’t wait to go back now that I’ve found my favourite, keep up the amazing work.

Haven`t been here in years as the last experience was terrible. Heard great things so went tonight. So glad we did. Lamb curry had plenty meat and spiciness just right for me. Wife loved her chicken tikka massala too. Garlic naan actually tasted of garlic and can still taste it 3 hours later lol. Service was quick and friendly. Will certainly be back in the near future. The place a few doors along can bolt.

Didn’t dine in - but ordered delivery after stopping nearby after a 15+ (really 24+ awake) travel day from the states and it was exactly what we wanted. Spicy, flavorful, perfectly prepared! Loved everything we had and are looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow. Would love to dine in next time we’re not prohibitively jetlagg’d.

What can I say. The food was amazing, all 8 of us enjoyed our meals, definitely the best I have had! The service was also so friendly, polite and punctual. Nothing to fault. We will be back for sure. Currently munching on the leftovers 😀

Cosy intimate restaurant with attentive staff.

Business lunch was good value but main course was a bit light weight money wise . Starters were good and dessert…… but nearly a fiver for a shandy was a bit steep .

First time visiting this restaurant. The restaurant was busy but made room for us. The staff were friendly and helpful, advising us on the choices we made (ingredients, spiciness, etc). The food came quickly and was very tasty. I would recommend sharing a Naan bread as they are enormous. We will definitely be visiting again.

Went in for lunch. Had the 12.95 3 course. Excellent value for money. Had veg pakora. Then jalfrazi chicken with a superb nan bread followed by coffee. I could have had desert but was full.

This will sound like hyperbole, but my meal--lamb tiki masala-- was the best Indian meal i have ever had. The ali parata that accompanied it was perfect, as was the cup of tea that followed. Then, a hot flanellette and a thin mint topoed it off. The whole experoence couldn't have been better. Well done, Amritsar!

Four of us went out for an evening meal and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The place is smaller than expected but big enough to cater for larger groups easily. The staff were warm and inviting and helped us with our coats. A great start. We weren't rushed to order either food or drinks and were given plenty time to check the menu which was well organised and had really good descriptions of the dishes there. The food was great. Really well presented and tasted amazing. The spice levels were just right with one of us preferring milder food. Honestly a well prepared and tasty set of Currys. Although calling them Currys is a poor way to describe the diversity of flavours and textures that exploded on our tongues. The nann breads were the best I have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. The starters were not huge, (not tiny either), but the perfect size as an appetizer. The restaurant was full but the staff had it under control and no one seemed flustered or rushed. I recommend this place whether you're a tandoori fan or not. They cater to all tastes. AND, Not expensive. Give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed.

Hadn't been here for a few years and visiting Kirkcaldy for the day decided to try the business lunch. The cost had risen to £12 but the main disappointment were the shrinking portion sizes! The curry and naan had halved in size while the rice was spread out very thinly. You can understand the rising cost of living but leaving an Indian restaurant hungry is a new one on me. Not sure if I'll return.

We had a great meal here on Saturday night. You've got to book though as its always full! Service was quick, and the food generous and good quality. We really enjoyed it, the naan was like a pillow!

Visited with friends on a Saturday for lunch. Restaurant was packed, had the business lunch, all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Hadn't been here for years, glad I made the time to go. Would recommend, but definitely book if going on a Saturday.

Food was disgusting. Prawn poor was swimming in water,looked like frozen prawns had been used.Prawns had lettuce in same container,which had become cooked. Lamb tikka masala was light pink,gloopy,and extremely sweet. Half chicken tikka was extremely dry and anaemic,inedible. Step father ate the chicken madras because he was starving,but was up several times during the night feeling unwell. Peshwari naan bread was nice. I did give the restaurant a call as soon as we received our order(45 minutes late and cold),and sent them photos of the food on messenger.I have not had a reply. £46.80 wasted,will never use again and will be contacting the FSA.

Husband & I had our Christmas dinner here for the 1st time although we dine here regularly, we booked the 5pm slot, the place was full, good atmosphere & the food was amazing & that was the 3rd sitting of the day, it was worth every penny & the manager should be so proud of all the staff that work there. Probably won’t be back. We order a takeaway probably once a month, get the same thing and prices are never same. Fair enough to extra charges if you make changes to the meal deal, but surely that should be capped?! The changes we made were for items which are cheaper on regular menu but we were £5 on top of meal deal price… And tbh honest the food isn’t that great.. stale brown salad, Nan bread is smaller every time we go.. it’s just not worth the money anymore.

My daughter lives in Kirkcaldy and we’ve visited a few times now and have always chosen the buffet. The selection is. Or huge but they do have a good selection covering the. Ore popular dishes from mild to hot. They also invite a table at a time to choose from the buffet, starters and the mains. This works as the food is set up in a smallish area. I’m not a great lover of buffet food as I tend to prefer freshly cooked food. Here the food is good and the dishes are varied enough to make it interesting. We will continue to visit in the future.

Was in for a meal with a friend and never noticed till nearly had eaten my meal i had a chicken tikka and in between the last 2 pieces of chicken there was a dark thick hair in the chicken it either came out of their head or beard i mentioned to the owner and got no appolige and when we asked for the bill they added an extra drink onto the bil and also mentioned it to the owner and still no appolige that i the worst service that we have had in the many years that we have been going there.

Jewel in the High st, exceptionally good food hot, well prepared and very tasty at a reasonable price. Went with the wife for a quick bite and was served a lovely 3 course meal for £7.95, waiting staff really friendly and helpful told us to ask for extra spices if we found the meal not spicy enough. Well worth a visit.

The only thing wrong with the Amritsar there is no access to a toilet for any 1 with any disabilites. The toilets are downstairs which is not acceptable at all.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. The food was ready within minutes and tasted very good. After dinner we even received warm towels to clean our hands. Totally recommend this and would come here again.

We had a fantastic curry here last night. I'm not very adventurous with my curry choices so usually have Garlic Chilli Chicken. Last night was no different and I have to say, this was probably the best one I've ever had. My friend had Rogan Josh and this too was really really tasty.

Went tonight with my partner and got the buffet. Food was amazing! Tasted very fresh and was piping hot. Even got a freshly made nan bread and coffee 3 course meal for 2 people and it was only £23. Fantastic price for what you get. Staff very friendly and well presented. Will be back.

We ate here for lunch and it was delicious. I had chaat for starter, tikka masala for main and ice cream for dessert all for £7.95!!! The portion sizes were generous and the chaat was up there with the best I've had. We will definitely be back.

We arrived tonight just before the downpour of torrential rain, on our way home to Kent. Although the restaurant was fully booked the manager managed to fix us a table as long as we could eat in 45 mins. It was a little rushed and as my husband didnt manage to eat his main they gave him a curry and rice home with him. The food as always was amazing and the staff were very pleasant. Look forward to retuning next time were in Fife although i hope our car isnt in 2ft of water next time

We popped in on Friday night - two adults and two toddlers. Despite being busy they were extremely accommodating. Staff were friendly and courteous. Food was delicious and the kids loved it. Best naan ever! Thoroughly enjoyed and we will be back.

Firstly, I was really impressed to find the vast majority of their menu was gluten free, it allowed my son to be as selective as anyone else with his order so kudos to them for this.

The Amritsar is an immaculate, friendly, cosy and comfortable restaurant with fantastic food that so far is unrivalled (especially the Chicken Tikka Masala). They staff are so welcoming, helpful and friendly. I have never had anything but a great experience here and the price is reasonable. Try the buffet, it' great, piping hot and lots of choice.
