Ate here tonight with friends while staying locally. Great food. Starters, mains and sides plentiful and tasty. Really good varied menu and a good array of drinks. Good pricing, friendly staff, and very helpful and accommodating with our vegan friend.

This place is perfect for Indian food. The chef and staff were great and listened to our recommendations for the panner curry. The daal and rice with cheese garlic naan were delicious. I loved it!

Got to say I have booked tables at this Restaurant and ordered for deliveries many times,and the standards never fail. Consistent every time, know exactly what I'm getting. Read some reviews putting this Restaurant down and I can honestly say that I feel that they are after a freebie. Amazing food and service every time ignore the bad reviews and I'm very fussy.

Was here for dinner on 7.7.24. Food was lovely, no complaints. Had the stuffed mushrooms and calamari starters. Then there was a chicken korma, lamb chilli garlic, and a chicken tikka masala with a garlic nan and 2 rice's. Service was fast and friendly. There were only another 2 tables in, so the restaurant was quiet for a Friday night. Definitely go back.

Amazing food, extremely celiac friendly as most things on menu are gluten free. You can also find things for celiacs and vegetarians at the same time which is usually hard or impossible. It took a while to get our cocktails to the table, but aside from that the staff were lovely and helpful also. The prices are also pretty good and portions are large.

Only a 4 because it was an early Tuesday evening so not much atmosphere! The food was delicious and in terms of what we had it was not the usual run of the mill dishes. Pleasantly surprised and very satisfied.

**Amazing customer service!** I contacted the restaurant on the day of my mum's birthday as I couldn't attend due to being out of the country. I requested a special touch of a cake and candle, a nice cocktail, and a small note. They responded immediately and were more than happy to accommodate my request. Not only did they fulfill my request, but they also took some beautiful family photos and sent them to me, allowing me to share in the celebration from afar. My mum was absolutely thrilled and said the food was incredibly fresh and the best Indian cuisine she has ever had, especially the Chicken Bhuna. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more!

This restaurant is great for larger groups, we had 10 people and were catered to very well, food was delivered very quick and was very fresh and tasty.

We had a takeaway from here for the first time and it was a big disappointment. Chicken Korma wasn’t the best. The chicken was very dry and the sauce was watery. The chicken Bhuna was nothing like Bhunas we’ve had from other restaurants. It was deep red in colour and tasted very herby. It went into the bin unfortunately. At least we’ve tried it but we won’t be back.

Got take out. Was charged £10 more than we were told on the phone when ordering. Not worth £33 for 2 main standard meals. Not particularly fab meal either. For £23 you get so much more at another local restaurant and its much better. First time there in a long time. Won't be back. To the person who responded. Please be assured the quality I get elsewhere is superior to you. Perhaps it would have been better if you had been open and transparent. Inappropriate service, response and communication

The worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever had!! I never leave reviews but feel people need to know how bad this was! Tandoori mixed grill with tikka masala sauce, no taste what’s so ever just heat. Unbearable heat, Tandoori chicken is not a nippy meal neither is tikka masala. I can’t give one good comment on this meal, majority of it went in the bin. Keema Nan also super nippy, since when was keema Nan nippy think they’ve dropped a whole loads of chilli on the whole meal. Will not be back. Waste of £25 as £20 of it went in bin

Food and wine were lovely and staff were great, lots of them and very efficient. Music was too loud, should have been background. Car park was a swimming pool, awful. On a night like this I don’t know how I manage to get across it really bad and no lighting.

The chicken 65 is decent but the sticky/soggy batter is definitely not to my liking at all Good garlic naan good pilau rice (not difficult) Chicken tikka jalfrezi was tasty but very little "tikka" presence about the chicken, the onion and pepper in the dish was basically raw and had definitely not been even partially cooked. £24.25 for a pretty poor starter and main, nowhere near approaching value for money

Had a family meal here following several recommendations. Great food and service. Only dropping a star due to the drink prices.

Friendly staff and food okay but not the best.

I had been meaning to visit for a while, and got a takeaway of 2 curries, rice and a nann = £30. The curries tasted quite good but not amazing. My issue was paying £11 for a slightly small container full, quite poor value for money. I might try the restaurant, it looks quite nice, and there are some interesting things on the menu, but I wouldn't get a takeaway here again.

Such a wide range of unfamiliar dishes on the menu I didn't know what to choose. My fish pakoras were light as a feather and my lamb bhuna ghost was splendid, having asked for it to be not too spicy. The paratha was just right. Enough to take some home as well. Can't wait to come back to try some of the other dishes. The waiting staff were all very helpful and friendly. Prices reasonable too. Love it.

If you fancy authentic Indian food in the middle of Scotland, and you are on your way to St Andrews or Edinburgh or anywhere in that direction, this slight detour is well worth making.

I enjoyed the handi. The starter was superb. Chicken 65. The main naga chicken was nice, iv had better, but it was still nice. No complaints really I'd certainly go again.

I am convinced that the food I had in this restaurant was the worst Iv had in Scotland I’m sharing to save others disappointment The fish pakora was a dried up fish finger with a spoon full of shredded lettuce 😩 The main was full of stringy chicken with what I thought was chicken skin in it To give a bit of balance my partner did like her lamb dish but shared my opinion on the fish pakora Overall I could have spent my £40 a lot better Disgruntled ex customer

Find this via Google after playing golf. Great wee find. Fresh produce, no food colourings, bags of flavour. Staff were great too, very considerate and passionate about their food.

My trip was very disappointing. My husband, friends and family have all been to Handi before and have loved it. Today was my first and last visit unfortunately. The start of our meal was great. We both thoroughly enjoyed our starters of Chilli Calamari and onion bahjis. They were well cooked and tasty. It sadly went downhill from there. Our main meals arrived and we then waited almost 5 minutes for our naan bread to arrive. We waited patiently only to be disappointed. My chicken was on the pink side. It might just be me being fussy buy I don't want to see pink on any of my chicken bits. I really, really dislike complaining but I told the waiter I couldn't eat my meal, as in my opinion it wasn't cooked properly. Off he went with my plate and someone else reappeared with my plate some 5 minutes later. During this time, I got to watch my husband eat his dinner. When my plate returned, it had the previously cut pieces of chicken on it, showing signs of pink chicken. The gentleman explained that they cook the chicken on the skewer and its temperature tested. So it's good to eat. He eventually offered to make a new plate. By which time my husband would be finished. I kindly declined and explained that I couldn't eat the chicken. I was left with the cold plate with pink bits of chicken and away he went laughing at me. Then bill arrived and I had to pay for the meal that wasn't eaten. The restaurant was busy, waiters were minimum and I left feeling embarrassed. Tables beside had obviously overheard the conversations. Overall, it was a poor experience and poor customer service. I should never had the dirty plate left in front of me for a start. I won't be back.

Have been here for both sit in and takeaway, both were fantastic with friendly staff. The review today is based on takeaway lamb Korma and garlic naan bread which was devious, lamb very tender and flavours great, sometimes Korma becomes bland but there was a lot of flavour. The garlic naan was excellent tasted of fresh garlic more than the bright green naan breads you see in other places. Overall highly recomend

I was not that impressed with the service, they got the drinks wrong and you can't get a glass of water to yourself they just insist it's for the whole table even if you ask for a pint of water when they ask what you want to drink, I don't like that they don't tell you how spicy hot the food is on the menu.

First time at Handi, and I had a lovely time. Celebrating my dad's new job and the food was bursting with flavour and spice. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Most polite and tentative service. Would highly recommend a visit.

Top Authentic Indian restaurant We travel all the way from Edinburgh to enjoy Indian food at Handi. We love their authentic and traditional cooking, kids really enjoyed their food and desserts. I personally recommend trying murgh malai chicken, the best. Naan and gravy are really good and freshly prepared. Their beer and wine selection was very good. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Worth travelling to Glenrothes to enjoy this food.

I was underwhelmed. Ordered 2 different curries but they both tasted the same, rice wasn't great, salad was a small tub of lettuce. Naan didn't seem cooked, it was doughy and small.

Good food, though not the biggest of portions. Almost all of the desserts were unavailable. Service was a little on the slow side. The Peshawari nan bread was very good!

Yet another fabulous meal. Service: Fast and efficient, drinks were offered as we sat down. Staff: Courteous and professional Food: Brilliant food, amazing flavours and piping hot. Price: 2 courses for 4 people with drinks, under £100. Overall: Definitely recommend for an Induan meal.

Excellent food and excellent service from the waiters, very attentive. Food was brought out quickly and hot. With a free appetizer when we sat down. A choice of good desserts too. Normal price for a good Indian, and the decor and atmosphere were good. Would definitely recommend.

Two stars are for the bread and the rice! Ordered takeaway for the family last night and at the price of £9.50 for a curry dish it was an expensive take away for 7. Completely justified if the food had been of a high quality. It’s not so it felt like an extravagant rip off. Lots of runny sauce consisting of a handful of meat or small pieces of paneer. It was not good chicken either, my partner had to spit out gristle. This place used to be amazing, we’ve been going for take away there years. It was rank and they should be ashamed to serve it. Corner cutting and below par. Avoid sadly.

Staff are good and food is consistently fantastic. I come here for true authentic Indian flavours. Been here many times over the years now and have never left dissatisfied. The premises are clean and decor is nice too. There are plenty of tables so it's never been a struggle, for me anyway, to get one last minute. We are always presented with a lovely Amuse-Bouche prior to getting stuck into the starter or main. The Poppadoms are good and the pickle tray that comes with it is delicious . Make sure you ask for the pickle tray when ordering Poppadoms, as it's not assumed you want it also. To me this is a given, but that's my opinion. The server's know the food as well as the chef and are happy to educate you on what you're eating in a little more depth, and even sometimes the origins of the dish which I find informative and interesting. Ask and you shall find out. Overall I highly recommend this place and for me it's in my top 3 best Indian restaurants in Fife. I do wish they had Vindaloo or a Phal on the menu though 😉 Regardless, chefs are happy to make a dish a bit spicier for the heat craving fanatics like myself!

Was here in Sept. Food was fabo. Returned a couple of weeks ago, cooks must have changed, sauces were claggy and overly salted. A disappointment by comparison. Will return next year for one final assessment, probably only for lunch though.

Takeaway doesn't seem to match the restaurant reviews.Feels like they are cutting corners and delivering a second rate deal. Ok good points rice,dhal vegetable curry. Bad veg.pakora dry , chips old cold and stale ,both of these I would have returned in the restaurant.Need to improve and not give takeaway customers a second rate experience.
