The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving French food

This restaurant never disappoints and rather than a meal out, it is a dining experience. The decor, ambience and lovely staff mean it is a relaxed atmosphere There are 2 set menus to chose from. We had amuse bouche which were delicious together with their homemade breads, a great start. The starter of salmon was exquisitely presented and was superb, the lamb sweetbreads with baby beetroots was unusual, really enjoyed the sweet, slightly fatty flavour of the meat. The halibut was delicious and complimented by cockles and delicious. The fillet of beef looked quite large for me but because it was so tender and tasty with a lovely herb crumb, it was easy to consume it all. Their saute potatoes are not to be missed and the chanteray carrots, scrubbed wirh rosemary were a fitting accompaniment. Both had the rhubarb dessert which was beautifully presented and absolutely to die for! Then superb petit fours. Wine list is extensive with bottles available for under £40. Obviously not the cheapest of experiences by my goodness, worth going here once rather than somewhere else three times!

Después de haber cenado en Kol en Londres y L’Arpège en París, mi visita a Otto’s me pareció entrar en un mundo culinario completamente diferente, pero igualmente notable. Esta es una buena comida de otra época, un lugar que se siente como si te hubieras topado con un puesto íntimo y ecléctico en Les Puces, el legendario mercadillo de París, donde el tiempo se detiene y la indulgencia reina. El menú de Otto es tan extravagante como divertido, un verdadero espectáculo de la cocina francesa clásica que se inclina sin disculpas hacia el servicio de mesa, ricas salsas y presentaciones teatrales. Tenga en cuenta: muchos de los mejores platos requieren un pedido previo, pero incluso sin planificación anticipada, encontramos mucho que saborear. Comenzamos con la Salade Impériale, una combinación extremadamente decadente de pan dulce de ternera crujiente, pudín negro Christian Para abrasado, pechuga de pato ahumada, gamba real, ensalada de frijoles y mâche y salsa de trufa, todo cubierto con foie gras. Luego vino el Native Lobster Soufflé, Lobster and Morel Nest, un homenaje a Fay Maschler (el crítico de restaurantes del periódico Evening Standard de Londres durante casi 50 años) que estaba absolutamente empapado en una increíble cantidad de salsa, sin quejas allí. El Duck Pie siguió a esto, y luego el Lamb Wellington con Haricots Verts y salsa de romero, un plato tan rico y perfectamente ejecutado que el postre se convirtió en una imposibilidad física, especialmente porque habíamos utilizado el fantástico pan para empapar hasta la última gota de salsa. Uno de los aspectos más destacados fue simplemente ver el Chateaubriand de Bœuf Simmental en Croûte, Sauce Périgord servido junto a la mesa en otras mesas — incluso filmé la talla. Todos los platos en croute (y parece que hay muchos) se veían perfectos, lo que es un testimonio de las habilidades de la cocina. La carta de vinos de Otto es extensa, con una impresionante selección de media botella, lo que facilita el maridaje de diferentes vinos a lo largo de la comida. Otto’s es un restaurante al que vas por amor a la cocina clásica francesa, de esas que no se frenan. El entorno, el servicio, los sobre - los mejores platos, y la indulgencia pura de toda la experiencia lo convierten en una visita obligada. Ya estoy planeando mi próximo viaje, y esta vez, estoy reservando. Tengo que probar la "hamburguesa" una vez en mi vida.

Tuvimos una comida increíble aquí el Domingo de Pascua. El personal era profesional, atento y bien informado sobre el menú y las bebidas, el lugar extremadamente atractivo, limpio y acogedor, y la comida increíble. Un verdadero mérito a los propietarios y chef, nuestra experiencia no podría haber sido mejor y sin duda volveremos cuando sea la próxima vuelta! Para lo que teníamos era muy valioso también. No dudaría en recomendar.

‘Nolas’ is a beautiful restaurant with fantastic food . My husband and myself first discovered it last year whilst on holiday and this year on holiday we came with our two friends who had both celebrated their 70th birthdays , and we wanted to bring them somewhere special to eat . They like us loved it too ❤️. ‘Nolas’ has a fab ambience and the staff are just so lovely and helpful. ‘Nolas’ is well worth visiting if you are ever in York.

I politely asked if I could sit outside for a glass of wine in the sunshine. The middle aged red haired waitress said I’d have to order food… I explained I’d just eaten… she said “we’re a restaurant, not a pub” and suggested I go somewhere else. Fair enough if that’s the policy but the delivery was seriously lacking and the attitude received has put me off ever coming back for food. A shame.

An elder statesman on the dining scene and the reasons for its continued success is based upon a team that knows precisely what their customers want and delivers it. You are not going to find foams, reductions or food being served on shovels here. What you will find is an extensive menu based on simple, high quality ingredients that have been lovingly prepared. Backed up by well trained staff that are attentive without being overbearing. There is a reason this is the place that springs to mind for any celebratory meal - or indeed any excuse to eat here!

The restaurant was superb; I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and the tasting menu with wine pairings was fantastic.

Delicious buns, croissants, and sandwiches. Egg sandwich and chicken sandwich are both amazing. Excellent coffee. Meringues and especially the pistachio meringue confections are out of this world . Very friendly service.

It was a very enjoyable experience ! This restaurant is managed by 2 parents and 2 daughters and uses family recipes from Nantes. JP the very friendly owner explained to us the catch of the day and all the fresh arrivals on the menu. We chose oysters muscles charcuterie escargots for starters that were delicious followed by sea bass and finally the deserts were “la cerise sur le gâteau “ as we say in French. If you want a sea food platter you need to order it.

another wonderful stay, this time in the coach house which my parents and I loved too. Belle Isle truly is a piece of heaven. Only one thing - could we have full length mirrors in the bedrooms please

My favorite local place- great coffee, nice staff, and an amazing array of pastries, sandwiches, snacks, and other great finds. Perfect to grab something and sit outside or go up the hill to Highbury Fields.
