We had a birthday lunch here and I have to say, it was just fabulous. The restaurant is easy to get to from the motorway and has plenty of parking. Decor is pleasant inside and the tables are spaced far enough apart to give you privacy. Service was impeccable, the food was well presented, delicious and had good sized portions. Value for money was excellent and we will certainly return.

Our first visit but it definitely won’t be our last. The food was delicious & plenty of it. The dauphinois potatoes were amazing. Portion sizes are very generous & everything was piping hot. Would highly recommend

First visit, as a couple and we had one of the best meals we have had. The food was great nicely seasoned full of flavour. Service was good even though one of the staff seemed to be under training.

We booked for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary celebrations and were not disappointed. The food was superb, all delivered to the table with no fuss. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much bother. All the special requests were catered for and the gf option was perfect. There were 17 of us and we had a large table which allowed us to move around to speak to all members of the family. We were there for three hours and never felt rushed. A beautiful venue which we cannot speak highly enough of. Thankyou

Another visit to one of our favourite restaurants for Sunday lunch with family. As usual a lovely welcome, great ambience and friendly service. We visit here regularly and are very lucky to have such a good restaurant nearby.

1st visit, not disappointed! Had the winter menu,which had exceptionally good variety,flavours for all tastes! Went full bore for 3 courses at lunch, that was us done for the day, full to breaking point. Food beautifully cooked and presented in a classic, not ostentatious way,looked and tasted great using quality ingredients. Big thank you to the staff who were very welcoming and attentive. My sister was visiting so the 5 of us trooped off here. After a cheeky G&T in the bar, we settled into our seats for dinner. I had the nut roast - strange for a dedicated meat eater - and it was lovely - would definitely have again. The rest of us had a selection of starters (scallops as a special for me - lovely). The other main thing is that they can cater for my wife who is coeliac and they did perfectly again. it was a lovely relaxed evening and we left with full tums (no room for desert) and happy memories. First time trying here this weekend with my family. We ate off the winter set menu for lunch. The food is very good quality. I had the turkey and gruyère croquettes to start and pork medallions for mains, other family members had other options. The portions are very generous, with inclusive shared sides of dauphinous, roast potatoes, and veg. The price is a little more than I'd normally spend, but considering the potions and quality I consider it thoroughly worth it. I fully intend to come back again in the future for birthdays and other celebratory events.

We had been invited to La Flambé to celebrate a friend's birthday it is over an hours drive for us but so worth it We were made to feel very welcome by the staff at the bar When the rest of the group arrived we were shown to our table, the food arrived quickly and everything l had chosen was delicious. The menu is good with a choice of set menu, or A la Carte I choose Prawn and Crayfish in Marie Rose Sauce for a starter, fillet steak rossini for a main, and Creme Brulee to finish all delicious Would l go again yes, but would need to be for a special occasion as it's a long drive for us.

I will be returning many times after our first visit. Went on Sunday and was offered the Sunday menu. They were so accommodating that I was blown away by the professionalism of service. Great prices, too. 10/10

Wow! Great evening out. Food was amazing Group of friends on our Monthly night out. We have been before and had an amazing meal, so we knew we would want to visit again for a Christmas treat. The goats cheese was a firm favourite as were the pate and beautiful mushrooms. Mains are all good, but the Christmas Turkey dinner was sublime! Turkey breast was juicy and practically coved the whole plate! Help yourself from a good choice vegetables including red cabbage that are placed on your table. Best to save some room as the pudding menu is rather yummy also! And it would be rude to not to try! Really nice place to visit with outstanding service and a great menu. Go on spoil your loved ones, you will not be disappointed. 💖

An outstanding meal in a lovely restaurant

We used to go to this restaurant when it was in Malmesbury ( we lived in Calne then) when we found out it had moved to Sutton Benger ( same owners) we went back whenever we could, amazing place, lovely atmosphere, food is great and the staff are very welcoming and friendly, well worth the journey from Burnham - On - sea!, would highly recommend for any occasion.

We came here in Christmas Day. We were greeted by very friendly staff, shown to out table and drinks order taken. Our meals were all faultless, tasted delicious and everything was hot. I can’t praise them enough. Thank you to you all for making our Christmas lunch very special.

Not up to your usual standard very disappointing . .Ordered medium to rare steaks but it was well overcooked. Spent £241.00 not expensive if the food was great but not so

On arriving we were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our coats and then offered drinks. We were taken to our table and we were advised on the menu. We all enjoyed our starters and the main meal was delicious and cooked beautifully. There were plenty of vegetables and potatoes which were also included in the cost of the meal which was nice compared to other restaurants who have this as an additional charge. Desserts were presented elegantly and tasted lovely. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be booking again soon. Thank you to all staff for a great experience.

Excellent meal and good service and a good price

This has been my favourite restaurant for many years now. I have been twice in the last 5 days with a large group and a couple of friends. The restaurant was very busy on both occasions but the service was excellent - friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Both meals were up to the usual high standard - I had turkey firstly and lamb rump on the second visit - both highly recommended. Great value for money way above the large chain groups.

We had a staff Christmas meal at La Flambe. I had 3 courses from the December menu. The grilled goat cheese was a lovely starter, nice enough portion and good combination of flavours with the candied figs and walnuts. For the main, I had steak in garlic butter. Although requested it to be cooked to medium, the steak was closer to well done which put me off slightly but it ended up being okay. Very salty though. We had a variety of vegetables on the side, as well as roast potatoes and potato dauphinoise, which was lovely. For dessert, I ordered the sticky toffee pudding, which was delicious. Service was great, we received a warm welcome, servers were all polite and swift to clean up our plates and bring the next course. We noticed most if them were really young, but they did a great job on a busy night. However, the bill took almost half an hour to be brought out which was frustrating as some of us had to leave but were asked to wait around longer. I eventually asked to just pay for my meal, which the manager kindly helped with (so I left before the bill was brought out), it was very much appreciated. Overall had a nice meal, it came to £44 (without drinks) which I felt was reasonable. I have had better food in the same type of cuisine and price category, but would return again to try some other meals as they had a great selection.

First visit here for me and it's deffinately going to be my go to place from now on. The food was amazing , large portions & cooked perfectly. Staff were very polite & attentive & service was quick & efficient. Went on a week day which was quiet but judging by my experience i can imagine weekends will be very busy. Top marks to all the staff.

Food was nice but service terrible. Pre booked choices for group and they gave away our desserts. No point in pre booking. Also once main finished no follow up to see if we wanted more drinks. They could not wait to get rid of us. Cleaning up around us. Could smell the bleach used to mop floor in toilets. Xmas decoration lights switched off around us and it was only 22.15!! Not very subtle. Yes got 2 bottles of wine taken off bill cause of desserts but when booking a meal would rather have the meal.

We go there often as it ia local to us so thought it was time to leave a review. Great food, service and atmosphere. 100% recommend.

Our visit to this elegant restaurant was my birthday treat, which sadly had to be postponed because we had COVID in our house. I didn’t actually become infected, but I would not, of course, want to dine here without my Partner. So, nearly two weeks-on from originally planned visit, we were sat in our favourite dining room “the tunnel”, here in one of our most favourite restaurants. We had already viewed the menu online, and pretty much decided it would be the “Roast Rack of Lamb” for us both. This was a much welcomed return of our most-favourite main plate here; which we personally have not seen on a menu here since mid 2021. At £42 per person we felt it was more than a touch expensive, but I only have one birthday a year! When, however, we looked at the printed menu whilst sat in this lovely setting; we discovered that we could have a rack of lamb for two at a tad under £27 per person. We guessed this would be less food on our plates; we guessed right. To be honest a full rack each would have been “to pig out”. So, we decided to be prudent; especially as we both have lost weight since our previous visit here in October last year. We were advised that there was a substitute starter; as the were no ‘Figs’ left. Shame, but that was no problem for me; I can’t stand figs. The substitute was ‘Scallops with Chorizo’ and we both love to eat those, so that is what we ordered. The wine was always going to be a white, we don’t drink red wine at all. We do like a pale Rosé, but unless it is Frech or South African we are unlikely to order Rosé. A wine we have previously enjoyed here is the Touraine Sauvignon Blanc; this was a possibility. Having recently returned from a holiday in Spain, the Albariño was my choice; and it was a good choice too. My Partner was driving, so apart from a small glass I bravely stepped into the breach and drank the rest. It was a lovely wine; more subtle fruit notes that the Albariño we had in Spain. The wine was enjoyed whilst eating the lovely Melba Toast. There were four Queen Scallops per serving and they were, as we had come to expect here, perfectly cooked, and a real joy to eat. The plate looked superb with fresh pea shoots. The single slice of bread provided was not enough to mop-up all the Chorizo and herb flavoured butter sauce; I could have asked for more bread, but being carb-cautious (after all that toast) I didn’t. The mains were soon presented: three thick and delicately cooked chops each in a rich minted gravy. The pink meat was so beautifully soft and tender. Superb food and the large helping of vegetables starting with Dauphinoise potatoes, roast (or maybe deep fried) potato wedges, red cabbage, carrots, leeks, and roast fennel were all eaten and enjoyed. Some folk don’t like red cabbage or fennel, but I certainly do; in fact there is not many veg that I don’t enjoy. The plate was certainly enough for us both and we rested awhile before we decided on a dessert. My Partner chose a great-looking Cheesecake and I chose a Crème Brûlée (both dressed with a ‘Physalis Peruvian’ a.k.a. Cape Gooseberry). Service was exemplary, friendly, engaging, efficient and even-paced, so that we felt comfortable, and that we were participating in what was a very civilised occasion. We thank the senior waiter for his understanding.

Have been 3 times now, and each time I am blown away with the food, service and menu choice. Menu changes often enough that you know it's freshly cooked, but classics are there and interesting specials. Ingredients are really good quality and I believe good value for money.
