Chips - Pale, soggy, greasy and undercooked. Husband threw in bin Fish - Quite tasteless, soggy batter… Curry Sauce - Nothing special Won’t be visiting again…

Just had the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my 62 years. The large fish was nothing but a slither of fish in about 4 coatings of rubbery oily batter. The chips were mostly off cuts and bad bits of potato. If I could give no stars I would. Avoid this place at all costs.

I went to this chippy last week and the chips and gravy were not bad but this chippy was abit smelly and the staff was abit unprofessional and there were no thank you or please and they haven’t got any manners and they weren’t that polite and I won’t be coming back here when I am down at Helsby, 1 of the Frodsham chips are much better then this 1

£4.99 for A small chips , and I waited 15 minutes. It’s first and last time I coming to this Shop . Just I don’t Advise anyone to come shopping here

I had the half peri peri chicken hot with corn. It was good. I couldn't complain. Tasty, freshly made and generous in portion size. Cheap and cheerful! My order took a little longer than others as I guess they had to make it whereas the fried chicken is already made. I ate in. There are not that many tables. Staff were pleasant. Fast service. My small negative was cleanliness. Tables desperately needed a wipe. Halal.

We had mixed meat and chips with salad. The salad was a couple of pieces of cucumber at best. Meat was dry and not overly flavourful. It seemed as if we were an inconvenience being in the shop, definitely didn’t feel welcoming for a village chip shop. The chips were average at best. We went to this as it was our closest chip shop but would not recommend. Next time I would travel the extra mile and go to Cookley. It must have changed hands from the last time I went there (some years ago) as the standard had completely changed. I will say on a positive note that it was very clean and tidy but unfortunately the food was not that good.

Food taste so delicious, perfect size portions. Burgers especially are juicy and tender :P. Definitely worth every penny. I would go miles just to get food from here. Every single visit to Leeds must include a visit to Harlies. They always seems to have some offers as well.

Four days later I'm still suffering the effects of terrible food poisoning caused by a dodgy fishcake i bought with chips on Saturday evening 1st Feb, Cleanliness and hygiene very poor in here which stinks of old frying oil as the extractor was not switched on. The floors are grimy and the posters above the chip fryer range are brown due to being covered in grease. Just horrible.... I'm going to report to the council to check the hygiene standards here. Avoid at all costs.

Wouldn’t even leave one star if I had to. Spent nearly £16 on pizza and my partner had meat and chip the attitude from the owner was disgusting. He had poor hygiene took my money gave change not wash or sanitising his hands carried on doing my meal with his thumb inserted in my partner meal . On the plus said a member of staff come over and asked if everything was ok at least dale cared about where he worked

We went to this place with another couple and the food was terrible it smelt extremely off and tasted the same way do not eat the chicken wings

I have used this chippy in the past years ago as my Gran has always lived in the area,however I had been in a couple of times during February 2025. For fish and chips. Portion size for regular chips is quite on the small side for what you're paying for, plus chips were over done and cold.The fish had been over done on both occasions. Today in particular fish seemed like it had been recooked, the batter was over crispy and cod tasted rubbery. I am disappointed as was buying for my Gran for a Friday treat and she didn't enjoy the fish. I like to give local businesses the benefit of the doubt,and dont like to leave negative reviews,but because I've tried twice in same month I will be reluctant to return.

Ordered for delivery the food arrived luke warm the fish was hard and the lamb wrap was soggy and the sauce was running out of it like water dreadful won’t be ordering there again !

Fácilmente el mejor pescado con papas fritas en Coventry, con un servicio excepcional a juego. La comida es consistentemente deliciosa con porciones generosas. Muy recomendable!

I went here with my family and it was awful! They ask if you want salt and pepper I said yes they did not give me any! No place to sit! Messy baguette and dry chicken 🍗 !! DO NOT RECOMMEND
