Nobeltt's Fish & Chips in Preston

Chips - Pale, soggy, greasy and undercooked. Husband threw in bin Fish - Quite tasteless, soggy batter… Curry Sauce - Nothing special Won’t be visiting again…

Quite simply the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Cooked perfectly, great portion, excellent seasoning. Served in a cardboard box which made eating them very easy. Wonderful service.

Just visited this chip shop with a order for 6 meals. Whilst the meals are really good the customer service is really poor. On ordering the staff member said to my husband and son in law did they know about phone ordering and in future could they phone the order in to save problems. They both agreed. She then went on to repeat this twice more belittling them in front of other customers. They had already said they didn’t mind waiting for the food to be ready. Unfortunately even though the food was good we will not be returning to this shop.

Gave this chippy another chance a couple of months ago after having a bad experience, and was really good, not so yesterday fish was nice and steak pudding was good but the chips were awful think they had been reheated from dinner time really hard and dry even with gravy on not edible won't be going again!!

Had fish and chips last night fantastic as ever try the curry sauce on your batter.. beautiful! Always very clean and always 5 hygiene rating!

Usual other various places where closed, accidentally came across here and thought I’d give it a try. I can tell you I’ll not be visiting anywhere else in future. Had fish and chips as well as ordered for family. That fish was an absolute bomb, white fluffy fish battered to perfection. I had ordered a pot of gravy and peas, however I didn’t even get to put them on my plate. I opened the fish and chips and devoured it before I even had chance to put the peas/gravy on. The chips were just right for me. Plenty of them and a very good price.

Don't know what's happened to this chippy, the fish was always very good, not so now I wonder if they have changed supplier, I have given it 3 chances but fish is terrible can hardly chew it batter also hard won't be going again!!

Visited here recently, against my better judgment - and found the fish to be like leather - certainly not fresh. Don't know what they do to it, but the taste was awful. Will not darken their doors again. Ever.

My previous review was quite positive, based on that experience - but recently - oh dear ! Over battered fish. Meagre portions - hardly enough to eat. Another chippy which fails to be consistent with quality, decent seized portions. I will not be back in a hurry.

Visited here recently after an absence of a year or two. Based on this visit, Nobletts is pretty good - fish and chip portion sizes quite adequate and tasty, and the service was good and efficient. Very busy when I called - indicative of its popularity. Two fish and a portion of chips cost £8.00. Very reasonable.

One server great but overall disgusting service, gave this chippy one more shot from previously bad service to family members. Arguing over 1p charge, nose turned up at our request for a plain barm cake due to dairy intolerance. Manager needs to address bullying in the workplace from what we witnessed. Always terrible on gluten free requests too, sad really because used to be great a few years back.

It’s not close to Preston Dock as indicated on the Trip Advisor Map. It’s a few miles away in the North Plungington / South Fulwood area.

I visited Monday night, late tea. I requested Haddock, none available, Cod only. I was hungry after been let down for a trip out to Blackpool, where a fish supper is superior. The fish fryer said no Haddock only Cod. I thought give it a go. The chips were very soggy and reheated by the taste of them. Mushy peas ok. The cod was very greasy and not tasting good. I had bad acid reflux for hours after. Would not go there again. A nasty experience.

The fish and chips from Nobletts are the best in Preston. The fish is fresh and extremely tasty. You get a generous helping of chips too. I wouldn't go anywhere else. There is always a warm welcome from the staff too

Excellent food, good staff and competitively priced. We travel from deepest Fulwood and pass a few fish and chip shops to get here but this is a real Jewel in the crown for Preston. Excellent. We usually go every Friday evening, good Catholics that we are

Had steak pudding and chips, steak pudding a bit hard on top, possibly just slightly overcookedChips OK but just average, not the best.Just wrapped in 1 piece of paper but on a tray, by the time I got home 5 minutes, they were lukewarm.Suggest if you have a bit of a drive or walk home ask for them to be wrapped a bit more.

Visited again as it was the most convenient chippy, sorry to say but the chips were really very poor quality, even though it was a Monday lunchtime early, the chips appeared and tasted as though some of them were recooked from another day, a real mix of chips , not very appetising at all.

Visited for 1st time in years had steak pudding and chips, pudding was good chips OK but a bit under cooked, could have been the type of potatoes. Quick service, a bit pricey. Would probably try again bit not in hurry.

Visit here roughly once a week and the fish and chips are generally good. It does depend on who is cooking though as it can vary so can portion size. We found it's best to go earlier in the evening rather than later as the food is cooked fresh rather being left to go soggy in the warmer. On a recent later visit only two quite small fish were left, we ordered fish and chips twice and there was some non verbal communication between the younger server and the older frying person which was very obviously " those fish are small i can't serve them" the facial expression in the reply was " course you can I'm not cooking any more" we've learnt from this and tend to go when the owner is working as things seem a bit better run then.

We live in Fulwood and there are no chip shops in our area so the closest one is Nobletts unfortunately, really pricey for example the jumbo sausage is the same price as the pies and pudding, the last time I went was tea time and the chips were undercooked and the portion we were served was about 60-70% of what it should have been, clearly trying to make more out of each fry, very disappointing will travel further afield next time.

This is the best fish and chips I've had in a long time so we go here 2x a month for our fish and chips treat. The portions aren't very big and are quite expensive compared to other chippys in Preston. Comes in a nice box rather than paper but this may be why it's so expensive?? If it was a bit cheaper we'd go here every week rather than twice a month.

Really good fish and chips situated in Fulwood. Really nice, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Worth a visit for all your fish and chip needs!

Delicious- the World's best chippy! Every year I make Noblets my first stop on my trip over from Hong Kong. My kids love their food. Proper battered fish always served with a smile (even a tipple of whiskey at Christmas).

Good choice, quick service, reasonable prices, try it yourself , food freshly cooked, chips not at all greasy, they know how to do this
