Newlyn and Mousehole, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
13/07/2020: best seafood meal we have ever had. lovely location. we sat outside with our dog. the crab nachos with jalapenos was outstanding. the service was very good and not at all awkward just after lockdown and it was very busy. i particularly like the idea of being able to buy small dishes so we could try 4 different things.
12/07/2020: This tapas fish style restaurant really lives up to its reviews This was our first meal out since lockdown and it was a perfect evening polite engaging staff...Thank you for looking after us

Teacup Tearoom

Mevagissey, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
09/06/2020: Because of covid we have not been able to visit Cornwall and Teacup Tearoom but Lis has made a fantastic job of transporting a little bit of Teacup Tearoom to (not so) sunny Scotland with a fantastic selection of Cornish goodies
17/05/2020: I had afternoon tea delivered to my friend for her birthday, she said it was absolutely beautiful! I honestly can't fault teacup tearooms, their customer service was amazing right from enquiring all the way up to it being delivered!!

Edie's Kitchen

St Austell Bay, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
21/06/2020: This is such a treat once a week for me, to have someone else plan, source and cook a meal where I know that everything will be so delicious. It really is cooking just like you might do at home if only you had the skill, patience and motivation. We have tried the Friday/Saturday menu and the Sunday lunch and I couldn't fault anything. Last night it was a double baked Applewood cheese soufflé with a leek reduction, slow roast collar of pork with dauphinoise potato and an apricot and pine nut stuffing followed by the most divine chocolate and orange cheesecake with clotted cream and, wait for it, white chocolate sauce. Scrumptious!I do hope that they will be able to get their restaurant up and running again soon. They so deserve to do well.
20/06/2020: Picked up my dinner for takeaway (Covid guidelines currently) and the food was absolutely flawless in every way. The ingredients and technique are of fine dining quality, but with that added 'something' that you only get when cooked with personality and heart. Was my first time and will not be my last :) NB: photos are my own plating at home! Am sure the food would look much more beautiful and delicious in restaurant.

Charlie's Cafe Restaurant & Online Deli

Tintagel, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 30-45£
15/03/2020: Popped in here for tea and cake but ended up having a delicious warm salmon and cream cheese bagel. The staff are friendly and attentive, and look like they enjoy being there which is refreshing. Very cost and snug, food was excellent. My wife had the cheese scones which she enjoyed, only complaint was she would have liked more of the gorgeous caramelized onion chutney (I think?) that came with it.Would definitely recommend.
14/03/2020: Visited today as I'd heard Vietnamese Pho was on the 'Specials' menu. All have to say is WOW...was won of the best things I've ever eaten...hot sweet salty & spicy, loads of noodles, meat, veggies and a fantastic stock. You also get a pot with extra garlic & green chilly slices to add extra spice (be careful!!).Can't wait to go back for the next Vietnamese special!!

Nice Baps

Wadebridge East, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
07/03/2020: First time at Nice Naps for 3 out of 5 of us for an 84th Birthday celebration we were greeted by name by our hosts together with birthday balloons a personalised table & a brilliant brunch. Kevin & Laura are amazing, we even had a magic trick and a birthday cake delivered to the table. "Best Birthday ever" was the quote by the birthday girl!
06/03/2020: Great food, fast service, lots of friendly banter. Shows what's so good about having independent businesses with real personality, rather than bland brands like Costa, Starbucks etc who are taking over the world and making everywhere the same. Also, good to hear about all the money this cafe is raising for the homeless. Thank you, I'm sure to visit again when next in the area.

The Wheel House

Falmouth Arwenack, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
10/04/2020: I went with a very large group, which almost filled the tiny place. It would seem that may be the best way to enjoy The Wheelhouse in all it's glory. The table was set like some crazy banquet. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party crossed with "Up Pompeii!" The dishes of food seemed to keep coming and coming and were as good as anticipated. It was a great experience, but there are a lot of things people need to accept about the place. It is very small. (I've had bigger living rooms) and very popular. That combination makes for a waiting list which is months long. Whether people translate that as "Hype" is up to them, but it's simply logistics.I have family who visit me in Cornwall and I've never yet managed to get us in, because I don't have enough notice. However !! The owner has ALWAYS text me back. Maybe texting is a better way to go than 'phoning and leaving messages. Don't ever expect the 'phone to be picked up. They can't run the place that way.The place is fundamentally run by one lovely lady. She does everything, so she cannot take 'phone calls as and when. She's only human so maybe some call backs do slip through the net. She's clearly spinning a LOT of plates, literally. The food seems to be primarily shellfish. I don't know if they ever do fish, but expect only a few choices, probably all shellfish. They keep it simple, concentrating on a few things and do them well. Don't expect a lengthy menu.Their speciality is seafood/shellfish not alcohol! Again the place is TINY. They cannot keep 50 varieties of gin. That's not what they're about. They have enough of the basics. The kitchen is part of the same room and again tiny. The demand is high. Like most restaurants they need to have two sittings in an evening, so yes, they will be rushed, and no, you can't linger there all night. There is no "luxury". There's no room for sofas. It's a quirky place, things are vintage and eclectic, such as the tableware. It's not Steins, it's a different experience. It's rustic and hands on, you get stuck in and there's a roll of kitchen paper on the table. It's not fine dining. It's tiny, it's crammed with as many people as can just about fit in ... so it is noisy. That cannot be helped. That's why, the more people in there that you know ... the less the noise will bother you. As I say, great for a big group, or party if you can book months in advance.Take the place as you find it. Embrace the primitive nature of it, go with a group and get stuck in.
06/03/2020: Amazing food but you never get a call back, reserved for weeks ahead. However when you do get in you are served amazing shell fish and always beautifully cooked food, a true delight.

16/03/2020: Yet another great meal from Lucky and the crew. Sunday lunch beef was wonderful, as was the service. Frances and I really hope the guys aren’t hit too hard by Coronavirus - this is far and away the best pub in Falmouth, and every member of the team has worked hard to make it that way.

Outlaw's Fish Kitchen

St Endellion, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 30-45£
15/03/2020: My husband and I were so excited to have lunch here. The location of the restaurant is idilic, right opposite the harbour in Port Isaac in the most beautiful little old building. Inside, the restaurant is small but perfect, with very cute and classy decoration. It does not feel pretentious or intimidating and the staff continue to make you feel comfortable when they welcome you in. We were wished happy anniversary and shown our small specially chosen table in a private corner of the room. The menu is small but perfectly formed. It is a journey through the world of fish and made up of small platters to share. We ordered 5 plates to share of all different fish plus new potatoes. Each fish dish was individual, delicious and an absolute pleasure to explore. We loved the different cooking techniques, textures and flavour combinations. The house white was divine with the fish too and my husband very much enjoyed the cider and beer. The whole experience was one you want to do again. I would really, really reccomend it. 5 stars from us.
12/03/2020: As part of a package we had a reservation for dinner at the Fish Kitchen, somewhere we had not been before. This is a small restaurant with probably no more than 20 covers at a time, and there is a time limit of 90 minutes if you eat before 8.30m.There are only a couple of serving staff, which is more than adequate, and the portions are small and sharing style which suits the location perfectly. We had a table in an alcove, which allowed me to watch part of the kitchen, which was fun!Wine list is modest but with some very good wines, which are reasonably priced. The smoked Mackerel dip, Beetroot and sourdough toast was particularly good opening and set up the meal perfectly, before moving onto Cured Brill, Citrus, Fennel which I really enjoyed.Cured Gurnard, followed by Crispy Spiced Monkfish with red cabbage, continued the journey through fresh fish all landed locally. The star for me was the whole Dover Sole, on the bone with. Cornish Potatoes with garlic and lemon butter — perfection, we even got an extra portion of potatoes with a knowing smile from the staff, seems it happens fairly often. My wife generally does not like fish on the bone but she was very happy. After a brief break to finish the excellent bottle of locally produced Camel Valley white wine.A great desert was then brought out, Passion Fruit, Peanut and Vanilla Baked Alaska what a finish for a highly enjoyable dinner. Fresh mint tea to finish a perfect evening. This is a brilliant restaurant with a great team that provide a memorable evening. All for £55 a head plus wine ~ very readable!Organised taxi service to take us back to our accommodation in the area

The Fish House - Fistral

Newquay Central, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
19/03/2020: Very nice seafood selection. Great quality, fairly priced dishes. Wine list is adequate. We went on a sunny day and enjoyed the view over Fistral Beach.
17/03/2020: This place, just wow. From the minute you open the door you feel welcome, warm inviting and the smells coming from the kitchen at the back? just.. phenomenal. Everything is spotless and food incredible. We had the home made focaccia plate, roasted seafood platter, kids spaghetti and crabmeat and aioli special. It was something to behold. Honestly, probably one of the best things I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Service good waiter polite and my little girl demolished her pasta. Two glasses of dry White House wine later.. we were all smiles and happiness. I thanked the chefs and they waved to my little girl. honestly.. great vibes from this place and we will be back, that's for certain

The Copper Spoon

Marazion, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
06/06/2020: This was my first taste of the lovely food at the Copper Spoon - unfortunately due to this unusual situation we are all in, we couldn't enter the cafe, but we were very lucky that Tuesday, the day my son Alan and my daughter-in-law Joanna brought me to Marazion, was the first day that the Copper Spoon re-opened to serve takeaway items! We had a slice of cake, a chocolate cupcake and a cheese scone with some drinks. Well, they were all delicious and I loved my cheese scone so much that I sent my son back to get another half a dozen! We will all be back as soon as possible to try some more lovely food and look forward to the time when life gets back to normal and we can go in for a meal! Thank you to the lovely lady who made us all so welcome and we will return soon.
21/05/2020: We visited here last summer while waiting for the causeway to open. The cream tea was just absolutely delicious. The service was second to none, and the atmosphere was warm and very welcoming. Would most definitely recommend. X

Bude North and Stratton, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, >100£
29/05/2020: Omg that was an amazing takeaway guys. Totally stuffed but truly contented with the delicious and yummy food. Thanks so much. Loved it. I highly recommend it all 🤣😋🍔😋xx
06/05/2020: This is a very busy restaurant and when we went, we could kind of tell. This place has done well to separate itself from ‘typical cuisine’ and the food was delicious. But as I say, we kind of felt like a number in there rather than a person.
