The best restaurants in Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale South Lakeland North West

Delicious ice cream & friendly staff! Maple and pancake flavoured cream was sooooo creamy. My son’s ice cream was served with a small piece of candy floss. The cobweb ice cream was delicious too! Highly recommend a visit even on a cold and wet day!

Lovely pit stop with excellent home made soup, sandwiches, cake and tea. Unfortunately the coffee was very weak, but everything else lovely.

This is a lovely place that draws you in with the tempting aromas of the various coffees on offer. They serve excellent coffee, predominantly to take away, although there are two stools by the window should you wish to sit down. I suspect that space really is at a premium here, but if they could manage to fit in two or three little tables it would be superb. Highly recommended.

We visited Joey’s (the new name) every morning for a coffee while walking our dog when we stayed nearby in April. Service, coffee, cakes, pasties (including the vegan options for both) all excellent. The views over Windermere are lovely and you can visit the Claife viewing station. Less than 10 mins walk from the ferry (& loos if needed!).

Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked, great cakes and pastries, they make their own pasties and sausage rolls. Warm and friendly service

Beautiful food people and service. They even put th fire on especially for us. Beautiful place. Definitely recommend and be going again very soon. I had the gammon egg and pineapple which was honestly the best I've had.

Excellent place, fantastic beer, warm, welcoming and the food looked good too. Everything that a brewery place should be. Our new number one now Hawkshead has been shut down.

Had a meal with friends, staff were excellent, cocktails were very good. Food was superb, great atmosphere.

Welcome to restaurant was good,shown to our table, 2 off the 4 main course (mussels ) were cold, duck exceptionally small portion even for a 12 year old, and my steak and chip tough and completely tasteless. My daughter had just finished when the waitress tried to take her plate away whilst the 3 other diners were still eating! That bad, we decided to leave and go to Avanti for our dessert, We certainly will not be returning for food to this second rate establishment

ate here with my mum on a wednesday night. food was incredible. had the cod cheeks with curry sauce to start followed by a pork belly all cooked to perfection! will be back!

A friendly pub with bustling atmosphere. Comfortable, warm, and welcoming on a cold late-winter day. Staff very helpful. Decent menu, including Sunday roast with choice of meats.

This should be a four or even a five but I couldn't push myself further than a three star! The beer and wine choice was great, good service provided and very clean inside too. The menu was offering a good variety of food. Sunday roast! You can't beat a Sunday roast right? Those hot roast potatoes, a fair portion of beef? Nice hot Yorkshire pudding? Steaming veg? Plenty of gravy and extra roast potatoes? It wasn't quite there. It felt more like a small taster meal! Or a meal made for a small child then mistakenly passed to the adult! There were two roast potatoes! Yes two!! One small to medium sized and one small! The veg was Luke warm and the Yorkshire pudding was room temperature! Two thin slices of beef underneath it. It looked like more beef was there but I soon realised two slices it was! At a pound under twenty five pounds for the meal I was disappointed! There is definitely a decent chef in the kitchen but the lack of food for a traditional Sunday roast was shocking! I was still hungry after the meal which was a shame! I know it's tough in the catering world but please give us some value for our hard earned money!

Surprised at the good reviews! Because of them we booked a meal here. No atmosphere, food below average, portions small and overpriced. Starters were honestly minute. Ordered fish and chips and the portion of tartare sauce was bigger than the portion of mushy peas. You could count the chips with just 2 hands. When asked how the food was I replied “only ok” presumably the manager/owner, an older gentleman didn’t bat an eyelid, not interested at all. Plenty of other lovely places, don’t bother with this one for a meal. We booked for a Friday at 7 and it was virtually empty, that tells you something.

Opening times were posted on website so I was sent to this cafe. Unfortunately after a long journey there I found it shut. Would like to think that if your are shut this would be reflected on your website (Sunday morning (2/2/25).
