Lovely greeting by young ladie at the bar. My husband had the vegi breakfast nicely presented, very tasty reasonably priced. I had soup of the day along with a sausage roll. Again well presented very meaty sausage roll. I took the sausage roll home with me. Will definitely be going again. I was particularly pleased with the service as we were not there for a game of golf just the lunch. We were not rushed after eating so had a coffee and my husband had a couple of drinks from the bar.

This bakery had been recommended to me as a great little independent bakery with great food. I don’t live in Kirkby and we meeting a friend half way so this was perfect. The welcome we received was so welcoming and even though they were busy the service was friendly and fast. And the food…. Wow!! Just wish I had taken a photo. I had the quiche and salad which was delicious but I just couldnt finish it as the portion was huge. Then I bought some muffins to take home for my family. Again they were huge and delicious! Great value for money and a great little find. Definitely would recommend This bakery/cafe and will be visiting again next time I’m in KL.

Farfield Mill looked the ideal stopping place for lunch on the way to our holiday cotttage. The Mill is a lovely building. We sat down in the nearly empty tearoom and immediately had to change tables as the original one was so rocky despite the wadge of paper stuck under the table leg. The food itself was pretty awful. My 'hot' panini was barely warm. And my husband's potato and watercress soup was dreadful. More like green water! I make watercress soup at home and it's not difficult! We won't be returning.

A grim February day, rain whipping in from the fells. Hungry, cold and miserable, we trudged through Sedbergh looking for lunch and at the Dalesman found just what we needed. A friendly welcome, the warmth of a real fire, great local beers and sensational food. They do an amazing hotpot, and the pie… that pastry! Thank you Dalesman. Looking forward to the next time.

Disappointing. Ideally located on the main street but not somewhere we'd go again. Ambience was non-existent, toilet facilities unsanitary and the waitresses having to deal with being shouted at (unfairly) by whoever was in the back. Food took a while to arrive and was expensive for what was on the plate. There's much nicer cafes to spend your money in, don't waste your time in here.
