Very much enjoyed coming here for an afternoon treat. Excellent cakes and drink. My wife loved her Chocolate Thunder. The homemade fruit cake was perfect - accompanied by some Wensleydale cheese, an excellent combination. More substantial offerings are also available. Friendly service in the heart of the scenic village of Dent. I’m looking forward to returning.

This is a lovely place that draws you in with the tempting aromas of the various coffees on offer. They serve excellent coffee, predominantly to take away, although there are two stools by the window should you wish to sit down. I suspect that space really is at a premium here, but if they could manage to fit in two or three little tables it would be superb. Highly recommended.

We visited Joey’s (the new name) every morning for a coffee while walking our dog when we stayed nearby in April. Service, coffee, cakes, pasties (including the vegan options for both) all excellent. The views over Windermere are lovely and you can visit the Claife viewing station. Less than 10 mins walk from the ferry (& loos if needed!).

Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked, great cakes and pastries, they make their own pasties and sausage rolls. Warm and friendly service

We come once a year to the Village of Kirby Lonsdale. Platos although a restaurant/bar have amazing rooms which are always up to standard and they also take dogs.... sadly this was our first time without the dog. The food was lovely as usual and service was great too.

We stumbled on this café on our arrival. We were looking for a late lunch venue. Number Forty Four, was warm and welcoming. We all chose various sandwiches and either wine or a slim beer. The staff were chatty and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience. We returned the following day for lunch and immediately booked a table for breakfast on our final day. Highly recommended

Stayed 2 nights at Plato’s, myself & my wife. Had a perfect stay. The hotel is clean & tidy & as one of the nights we stayed was Friday night, there was live music in the bar downstairs with a good atmosphere. Great central location in the town. The staff were friendly & accommodating. Good breakfast choice in the morning, we went for the full English both mornings, served with fresh tea & coffee, juice toast & jam/marmalade. Very nice! We would definitely stay here again.

There were several of us staying. Unfortunately it was for a funeral, though we all agreed we'd like to come back again for leisure. The staff were all great, really helpful and accommodating. I'm rubbish with names but that's the bar staff, the chap that checked us in, the lady serving breakfast, the chef and check out person. All great. One of us had just had surgery too, everyone was thoughtful and considerate. Thank you.

Very warm welcome from Heather and the rest of the team. They were all so friendly and very efficient and worked so hard. A great team, nothing was too much trouble. Great menu, food was delicious! Our room was comfortable and had a lovely countryside view. Although there was no shower, or hand held shower attachment, it didn't mar our stay.didn't really mar our stay. The overall ambience of the pub (two wood burners roaring all day, every day during our two night stay) made it such a wonderful relaxing break. Highly recommend.
