The best restaurants serving Default food in Kirkburton Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

A fantastic place, I really can’t recommend enough. We have tried to book for a while and struggled, eventually we managed 6.15 Friday. Already very busy. Great food - we had focaccia and dips, tomato salad, fried chicken, cod, potatoes. The potatoes very incredible. Wine was eclectic - Japanese, Armenian! I asked to try and they were very receptive and shared their knowledge of the wines. The service is excellent, attentive, friendly - a great place and excellent value for money

Visited a friend yesterday with my sister and his Mum. We were treated to a lovely Sunday lunch. Really good food and the chef should win a prize for roast potatoes! Great freshly cooked food and a lovely pub with good service. Thank you to all the staff for making such an effort for my sister, who is a coeliac. Much appreciated 👏

Late lunch. Both had the quiche which came with a green salad. Exceedingly tasty and delightful. Lovely ladies looking after you. Tables downstairs a little heavy and wobbly but hey you go for the food.

We held a party here for my mother's 90th birthday. The event had to be postponed from January to June and there were inevitably a lot of changes between the original date and the actual event. T he staff could not have been more helpful during the whole rather prolonged process and I cannot praise them enough for their service and their cheerful and helpful attitude throughout. Just as importantly the food was absolutely excellent and the atmosphere on the day was just right for the event, We have had nothing but compliments from our guests who spanned a large age range and I am very happy to pass on our thanks. We must now start planning for my mum's 100th!

Dropped our son off at Leeds University and needed a place to stay overnight. Chose the Rose and Crown by location, price, breakfast and reviews. And we were not disappointed! Lovely warm welcome, great staff and team, great locals who we chatted with, great beers, great landlord, Richard. We ate there - good range and a choice of normal or small portion. TBH the small portion was bigger than expected! Great food and service. Breakfast was included in the cost and was wonderful. Need I say more? The location is perfect if you fancy a few local scenic walks. We loved this pub and wish Richard and his team very best regards and future success.

Sunday 1st September 2024 Today, I visited this beautiful old-fashioned rural pub near Kirkburton. This old tqlashioned coaching house today was well staffed and had a good local following. There was an ample range of real ales on, and we had a fantastic pint of Abbeydale moonshine, which was,,spot on,, I would gladly come here again if out this way

Excellent food, well trained staff, very good value for money. The premises were clean and well maintained. Presentation of the restaurant and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Visited Kin this morning. A warm welcome on arrival and had our pick of available tables. We had a leisurely breakfast, a Full English, regular size which was ample and a Corn Fritter. Both were delicious , well presented and quickly served. Mentioned it was my birthday. When I went to pay the bill I was surprised with a complementary piece of cake 😀 Brilliant. Thanks Kin ,😀

Stayed overnight in motorhome quiet spot lovely food

My wife booked us in for the morning spa session and a full body massage on the 26/10. I didn’t get the two ladies names who were serving and did the massage but it was a great experience all round. As I have been suffering with panic attacks and not been out of the house for a month it was a great relaxing environment. Will defo go again

It's the first time we have tried this pub. The reviews for Sunday lunch were superb. We booked Sunday lunch for 14:15, a few people in but not too busy. Our starters were extremely good and hot. The main course, I had roast beef and my wife turkey. Two main issues, the food was luke warm at best and the Yorkshire pudding was so large it took over the plate. I only saw one person eat it all, what a waste of food. It shouldn't only be about the quantity of food. It doesn't make business sense. Half the size of the Yorkshire pudding would be sufficient for most people.

We stayed for 1 night and enjoyed it very much. Nice, clean rooms and dinner was delicious, too!
