The best restaurants serving Default food in Claro Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

Excellent food and service, good prices and dog friendly.

Advertised as keeping faithful to what made The Tiger so popular when it reopened, same chef etc, but sadly it was more like the new owners previous Goldsborough pub but in a new location. OK, but just not as good. Steak and Ale Pie especially was disappointing as were the accompanying vegetables. A few chips in a little metal basket is never what you want to see!

We visited this pub and campsite this weekend. Decided on the day to go for a pub stopover and they fitted us in for Sunday lunch and the campsite. The food was delicious, very relaxed atmosphere, lovely wines and the most delicious steak pie I’ve had in years. There’s a £25 charge for the campsite but you get water and ehc for that. Need to have your own facilities as toilets only when the pub is open. Dog friendly and right next to a nature reserve for a lovely walk. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

This was our second visit to the Blue Bell in a fortnight, so impressed were we the first time when we had been for lunch. On this second occasion we had booked a table for a dinner with friends, so the doggoes stayed at home, although the place is wonderfully dog friendly. A key impression is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. It is so good to be in a place where all of the people who work here appear to have a sunny disposition. We were taken to an excellent table in the window for our early (6.30) dinner, the ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. There is a full menu, a ‘specials’ menu, and also a specials blackboard. It is important to look at all of them, otherwise you might miss out. Three out of our table of four opted for the asparagus starter, and I had the black pudding scotch egg, all delicious and generous for starters. The mains choices were quite varied, my wife going for what she had the last time we came which was the spaghetti with salmon. Our friends chose the steak burger, and the chicken…just a word about the portion sizes, they are huge. I went for the fish of the day which was a whole Sea Bream. It wasn’t small either. Perfectly cooked, with a delicious light sauce to accompany, and simple plain vegetables to complement the subtle flavours. There wasn’t a price on the blackboard, but I assumed for this quality mine would be the most expensive main course…it wasn’t, it was the least expensive. I was too full to think about pudding, but the others managed to find a little space to squeeze in some extra food. The bill was just under £180 for four people, with three of us having 3 courses, and me having two…this included drinks too. So not only was the food delicious, it was substantial, and good value. I think we might be frequent visitors to the Blue Bell.

Nice little bar and cafe with a good choice of drinks but limited food choices. Pretty sure the food is reheated from frozen - fine if you can't be bothered to cook for yourself but nothing special. Staff were friendly.

We had a fabulous meal here .We ate from the evening A la carte menu ,all the food was absolutely stunning & delicious & came out piping hot .Great staff who went above & beyond for us

Great little find just off the A1 towards York, we stopped for breakfast. Dairy and gluten-free accommodating, dog friendly as the tables outside undercover. Fantastic food great parking and all Cooke from fresh is brilliant. Not sure why people are rating four stars on here this is definitely a five star cafe

Came across this lovely village pub today..Set in beautiful surroundings...service by Stephen and a young lady (didn't get her name) was excellent..We both had the fish and chips...Can honestly say the fish was the best I've ever had and the triple cooked chips were to die for..All in all..a brilliant lunch and I would definitely recommend..Will be back!!!

Handy for a cuppa after work or during a shop. The cafe is situated in the simply food store and it’s clients are generally local. Good service and bright and airy cafe. Huge windows mean it gets very hot in sunny weather. No outside seating.

Disappointing couple of visits recently, poor ambiance, no one seems to be in charge or responsible. High prices should be supported by top service. Very quiet, beautiful place, shame
