The best restaurants serving Default food in Thirsk Hambleton Yorkshire and The Humber

My friend ordered soup. Which came in a coffee cup with not very fresh bread.. very small amount for over £7.. j had a scone and tea. .the place was empty 2 tables outside was occupied. This cafe used to be rammed and would have to wait fir a table.. it was nearly 12 so should have booked busy. Prices through the roof.. staff just stood drinking coffee and nattering behind counter. Clock still not put forward and it was literally just above till area. I did make comments about food and was asked if was just joking.. really ??? Very very poor Yorks.. I used to frequent.. but afraid no more. My customer will go elsewhere..

Nice sandwiches and toasties for lunch including gluten free to break our walk. Lovely food surroundee by loads of books including some bargains.

All ways a friendly welcome. Found this fish and chip shop one day whilst traveling through Thirsk. Fish and chips so good we occasionally have had a ride out from Filey to Thirsk to have some and will continue to do so.

We called on spec today for a quick lunch prior to visiting friends in the area. The welcome was friendly. Staff and customers were most welcoming to our two little dogs. How nice this was. The food was most acceptable . Decent-sized portions and a lovely selection of seasonal vegetables. Pity not all pubs are so accommodating.

Just had the worst take away ever lamb tika masala full of desiccated coconut ??? Food was stone cold and the bargeys where like rubber . £35 down the pan last time we will go there

This needs updating as the place is closed & looks like it has been for quite a while.

Dined there last night fir friends birthday. Food was amazing, I had the special lamb Koriah....superb. The naan bread was the best I have tasted. My friend enjoyed her Chicken Korma. Price unbelievable. Service slow, but really nice staff. Overall 5 stars will definitely come again xx

Ate here a few times can't argue with the food was great Had my family over this new year and fancied a Chinese takeaway on new years day we spent £62 on 3 mains and a couple of sides,also some chips !! Guys don't know whats going on it's the worst takeaway iv ever had !! I've lived here 4yrs I'm not one to complain ,I pre ordered this so it was an hr before we picked it up,it was not even warm the chips were horrendous like they were reheated on a few occasions, the duck was more than crispy and the the chow mein was very gloopy. Guys that was hard earned money fir an absaloutly bad takeaway Might have been a bad evening for the chef but it was expensive for us As I say iv never had a problem before

I used to be a regular and loved how fast the food was. But now I'm assuming that the food is all pre-made, stored for days on end and simply heated up, because this time, my food was prepared within 3 minutes. 2 hours after eating I was vomiting and spent 2 days on the toilet. Horrible horrible experience. Its a pity because the service was always lovely.

Great staff but the food was awful. I had the burger and it was like chewing a rubber ball, no idea where the cheese was.

We have supported this place for many years and ordered prawn sweet corn soup - on this occasion an elderly lady indicated after order and a long 15 minute wait - place was dead - to tell me they never do prawn sweetcorn soup - sadly less than 3 weeks ago they did - this time called s liar snd charged £4 extra each - so £15 for soup - i will never return

Pepperoni pizza...cold at 1430... Absolutely useless

This was a superb pub for drinking, located conveniently across from the train station for a quick stop! The block across the ceiling adds a nice feel covered by placemats and counter is well-presented, staff were friendly too. I had a refreshing pint of Red Stripe at comfortable seating, appreciating the old school character of this pub!

No issues with coffee or food but the seating areas are really dirty. Under chairs, sofas and the window area are deep in dust, build up of general grime and dog hairs. This hasn't accumulated in a short period. The entrance is filthy and shabby, not what you expect from Cafe Nero. The toilet was also quite dirty., the back of the seat, ha d rails, paper holder had accumulation of dust and the toilet brush and container so filthy noone would consider using it. I feel so sorry to hsve to post this about my favourite coffee company. They'll be pleased I'm not their local Hygiene Inspector as they e getting a 5 on cleanliness.
