Absolutely gorgeous food. The best Chinese food we've ever had. I had Kung Pao chicken and it was perfect. My partner had Special Chow Mein and it was perfect. Our 7 year old wanted an English dish of sausage, egg and chips and it was perfect, even her gravy was special with carrot and mangetout in it. This food is beyond good.

Had a takeaway whilst staying at Woodland lakes lodges . We opted for the banquet for 3 . The food was lovely and the portions were huge . The lady on the counter was very friendly and polite . Highly recommend you won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here tonight, friendly staff very generous portions of delicious food we had a set meal for 2 people. I would recommend this little gem just off the market square.

What a lovely restaurant. The owners were superb, made my children comfortable, and were so friendly. The food is one of the best Chinese food I have had. The duck was a highlight. Well trained staff, with an atmosphere of pride.

My wife and I ate here an hour ago, we had wonton soup, Salt & Pepper ribs to start which were excellent with Chicken & Seasonal Vegetables with Crispy Beef in Hot fruity sauce and Chicken fried rice. All the food was fresh & flavourful, it was hot and cooking perfectly, my wife and I are not locals but are learning our way round, we had to say it was the best food we have had, the staff were polite, kind and could not he any more accommodating. We would highly recommend! And also the takeaway side constantly had customers collecting so what more proof is needed at how good it was here, just try for yourselves and you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I had a lovely meal in the restaurant tonight. While we were eating we were asked three times if everything was alright.

Got a takeaway from here on Sunday evening, spent the night throwing up. Still not well several days later!

Last 3 times we have had food from here it has being mushy slop will never go back. Avoid...

Worse chinese we ever got, no taste of curry what so ever from chicken curry dish, beef in black bean sauce same no flavour or taste, very disappointed, expensive for bad food.

Terrible service, terrible food, expensive drinks. I should’ve just rubbed salt in my gums for an hour and paid £40 (2 starters, 2 mains, 2 drinks, 1 rice). The salt and pepper chicken is actually just salted batter. Thirsk residents but will never visit again. 👎🏻

Used to be great but has gradually gone downhill, this is bottom of my choices now.

Really not impressed. Read the reviews and really looked forward to popping in for a takeaway tonight. Chicken was covered in pepper (I know I ordered salt and pepper chicken but.......) and not fresh tasting. Sweet and sour king prawns tasted odd, other dishes tasted vinegary. Sadly won't be ordering from there again.

Service was quick and friendly. Food was great. Portions are generous!

Sorry to say won't be returning here. I'd read good reviews but was very disappointed. Ribs extremely salty in a bright pink sauce. Sweet & Sour sauce was pure malt vinegar and batter on prawns was thick and raw in the middle. 😖

Just bought our first Chinese in Thirsk as we've not lived here very long. Omg special curry was to die for, no fatty meats, no rubber boiled chicken and the curry sauce was yummy. I'd definitely recommend this place and this will be our regular from now on.

Had Takeaway and took up to eat under the stars on Sutton Bank. Absolute spot on meal. Tasty, hot and loads of it.

We ordered king prawn fried rice and chicken in lemon sauce while on holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed it & very reasonably priced. Owners polite & helpful. Will definitely be coming back here when we stay in the area again

Microwave boiled noodles with chickenw, ordered chicken chow mein. Absolutely no tatse and spring rolls were burnt. Oh and scrap reheated chips.. Hey you learn, shame as used to be a really good takeaway...

Always a satisfying meal from Hung Moey. I’d recommend the salt & pepper chicken, crispy shredded beef and side chips. The side fried rice is better than most takeaways, in my opinion. I didn’t enjoy the side noodles as the one time I ordered - it smelled faintly of old cooking oil. Aside from that, this is a reliably tasty place to get Chinese takeaway.

What a lovely find. We were on our way to a pub nearby for dinner when we smelt the irresistible waft of Chinese food. Had a quick peek and decided to give it a go. This is a great little place with excellent staff who are wonderful, the food is also spot on! Had the green tea and various dishes, all were superb.

Never had a bad meal in over 40 years and would always recommend this is the place to go . Will see people from our village in there which is 11 miles away so this says a lot

I can't tolerate sesame seed oil and when we where ordering our takeaway the lady took great care checking with chef as to what was and wasn't cooked in it. Very grateful.

I've been travelling down to Thirsk to this Chinese for years. It's a 1 hour 40mins round trip . . . . Enough said !!

There is a whole new style of Chinese food served here. Created over the 40 years this restaurant has existed. In years to come Thirsk cuisine will be recognised alongside the 8 great regional cuisines of China.

Called here for years on our way to Whitby, for a 3 course lunch, but unfortunately they started closing at lunchtime.

Travelled10 miles and closed again. This is the 2nd time. No information on website about been closed. Very annoying

Definitely recommend this Chinese take-away for people in the local area. The food is yummy and a definite must-have on a night out. For those that live in the surrounding area, you can ring and order but be prepared to collect it yourself. I have never used the restaurant yet but would like to one day. The gravy, chips, chicken battered sweet and sour and chicken fried rice take-away meals are to-die-for. Best Chinese meals I have ever tasted. The cost is very good and the meal even better! Most certainly has my stamp off approval and would recommend highly. Keep up the good work, Hung Moey!!!!
