The best restaurants serving Default food in Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

Not really the best idea to be cocky and rude to locals when your pubs on its backside as it is, awful landwoman, hopefully shuts and gets new people to run it as a friendly local pub like it's been in the past

A bit overpriced, the food was ok but nothing special. The chef had a very unusual skill of being able to both under and over cook the same egg - burnt on the bottom whilst still snotty on the top! pub could do with a deep clean. Staff a little bit sullen.

We should have known it was terrible when we walked in on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty! We ordered Sunday lunch, my husband couldn't eat his and I had a stomach ache afterwards. The beef was terrible, tasteless and a weird texture. We ignored so many red flags. But hey you live and learn! It was souless and such a shame in such a prime location. We won't be returning. I suppose we wanted to give it a chance. But they definitely need to rethink how they are doing things. Because the place is dead. In that location it should be busy. Even the Atmosphere was stale, Listening to 80's pop and brochures displayed for the Cotswolds and the south. I suspect it's not run by locals. They don't understand Yorkshire and what it is to be Northern. Like I said such a bloomin shame!

They say in these parts that God is a Yorkshireman. Well he certainly left a piece of heaven in Appletreewick in the shape of the New Inn. All the team are friendly and helpful, and the chef is an artist who uses food as his chosen medium. We will be back!

I only tried this place because it was Sunday night in Skipton and after 8pm I was running out of options. However, don't let the location in a run-down bit of town fool you, this is some of the best pizza I've had this side of Venice. Proper pizza cooked by an Italian with real ingredients!

The woman who runs this place is the rudest woman I have come across, she needs a career rethink. Literally 80% of the reviews on here detail her rudeness and the poor way in which she communicates with customers. Our experience was no different, everything was too much hassle for the staff, rude attitude, bad manners and rubbish coffee. Just don’t come here, it’s an embarrassment to Ingleton. I shall never return here. At the very least this woman needs to do a course in customer service. The customers are literally paying your wages. So so rude, angry and aggressive.

Visiting the area and asked a local, who said to avoid, however, they had never actually tried this takeaway and beleived someone else's opinion. Anyway, we decided to give it a go. Two of us sharing a special kung po, special black bean and salt & chilli chips. We were not dissapointed. Price was £18.10 Chips were hot, crispy and nicely spicy. Black bean was full of flavour, 3 meats plus king prawns and cashew nuts. Kung po was not as good as the one from our home town but very acceptable indeed. Shame there were no free prawn crackers, again something our local does! Altogether we were very impressed and a lesson for others maybe, to learn to make their own minds up and not rely on hearsay.

Our coach trip called in to kill a bit of time and we all enjoyed the visit. They sell all sorts of things here, good quality and reasonably priced. The staff seem by and large friendly and pleasant.

Great Food a lovely staff. Nothing is too much trouble. We had our elderly Mum.with us and they accommodated to her eating needs. Very authentic staff. 🩷

A lovely stay at the Wheatsheaf. Very welcoming staff, clean and spacious rooms and comfortable bed, a good breakfast and delicious evening meal. Easy access to Ingleborough and the waterfall walk.

Best takeaway coffee in the country by a country mile.

We had been on a walk nearby and wanted a coffee and cake (well deserved) 4 of us, no booking. Great Covid measures in place. But the star of the show was the cakes (all of them) Lemon cake was so fluffy and yummy, date and walnut slice Is possibly the best I’ve ever eaten and our friends had a Bakewell and Victoria sponge. Safe to say nothing was left & we asked who made them and it was the lovely lady in the kitchen who makes all the cakes! Definitely will stop by again for some cake! Side note coffee wasn’t the best but it really doesn’t matter as the cakes and friendly service make up for it.

Tuve un breve descanso recientemente y estaba bastante decepcionado. El hotel ofrece habitaciones de lujo. Eso pudo haber sido así en los 80 / 90 s, pero ciertamente no ahora. Buenos puntos - las camas eran cómodas y ropa de cama agradable. Puntos malos los zócalos estaban llenos de polvo y los muebles astillados. El servicio de desayuno necesita que alguien lo resuelva. No había nadie a punto de asignar una mesa. Se sirvieron bebidas y tostadas, pero luego pasaron siglos para que se tomara nuestro pedido de desayuno cocinado y luego una larga espera antes de que realmente lo consiguiéramos. Reservamos el hotel porque sonaba y parecía agradable. La realidad era muy diferente. Sugeriría un buen be&be para mejor valor.

Most useless branch of McDonald's I have ever encountered, shortly followed by Keighley. Never have I had a delivery come correctly when using the McDonald's app. I order a meal and you don't send me fries? Literally the only thing that remains consistent in your meals. How can the staff be so useless? Check your work before sending it out. Then you've got the app which is beyond difficult to create any complaint about missing items.

Ordered food via just eat and got a call from a very rude man within minutes of placing my £60 order saying that we are over 2 miles away so need to pay a delivery charge on arrival despite it saying free delivery of order over £20. He kept hanging up on us and was very very rude. I was on google maps and we was only 1.8 miles away from the restaurant but he continued to rant about he is too busy. I am just so glad I ordered on credit card as I will be doing a chargeback based on service/order not received as he has refused now to make our food. Never order with this place as service is well below the standard of any other place I have ever used.
