Ate lunch here after doing the waterfalls trail. Lovely pub with plenty of tables and really nice friendly staff. Big menu with plenty of choices. I had the beef burger which was good. I think it had probably been a bit overcooked and was quite dark, however the flavour was really nice, and it was large! Plenty of cheese and bacon, all served in a nice big bun. (Also came with nicely cooked thin fries which were tasty) Someone else had the gammon, chips and egg from the 'lighter bites' section which was really good. And great price for the portion size. I would definitely recommend this place and happily eat here again.

Stayed two nights and had a fabulous time doing the waterfall trail on the first day and Ingleborough on the second. The Wheatsheaf is ideally situated in the centre of the village and has a decent sized car park for guests. We were given a pleasant room overlooking the beer garden. A nice touch is that the coffee provide in the rooms is the fresher coffee bag type as opposed to the normal saches of instant coffee The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice to suit everyone's taste. We had an evening meal there on the first night, the food being straight forward well cooked 'pub grub'. We like cask beers and whilst not a 'real ale' pub in that the choice of cask beers was limited, we did enjoy our several visits to the bar. What is outstanding about the Wheatsheaf is the friendliness of all the staff we met including the very helpful housekeeping lady. A big thank you to the attentive Abigail who looked after us so well when we had our evening meal and also to Kelly. She warmly greeted us on our arrival, looked after us so well during the breakfast service and was very helpful when we asked her about the best route to take from the village to reach Ingleborough. The next time we visit Ingleton we'll definitely stay at the Wheatsheaf.

Given the mixed reviews I wasn’t expecting much to be honest so was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! Bank Holiday Monday and it was busy but we were served quickly. Husband said his gammon was good, 2 large steaks with eggs, chips and peas. I opted for the BBQ sharing platter as a main and it was lovely. Tasty and well presented. Enjoyed our evening and would return.

Firstly the good - the staff were great, always a smile and, except for the incident below, helpful. The Not so good: Our room was reasonable but dated, the carpet needed a good clean (the carpets in the corridors were filthy). The shower was as powerful as drizzle, the shower head drooped, the water constantly changed temperature. I awoke in the morning wheezing and with itchy, watery, eyes - a rare allergic reaction for which I had to use an inhaler and take anti-histamine. It was unpleasant but not serious, I can only think that there must have previously been a dog in the room and inadequate cleaning done afterwards. Annoying as I noticed they charge dog owners an extra £15 to cover extra room cleaning after the stay. The food was pricy (e.g. nearly £8 for 4 prawns - which I suspect were frozen and bought in) and really not that great. I had been looking forward to the Curry all day but when I went to order and asked if I could have chips instead of rice I was told "no, its against the rules to change a special". Unbelievable, the rice was served as a separate item on the plate so it would have been very easy to replace it with chips. I don't eat rice so ended up with a Lasagne which was dry and tasteless. Very disappointing Breakfast was no better, the full english should have been great but the sausage was poor, cheap "meat" and full of salt, the bacon was overcooked and tough, the mushrooms were rubbery. We certainly wont be returning

Nice atmosphere. Very welcoming service and would visit again. Overall though, based on meals ordered, found bbq sharer expensive for what you got. Child menu was expensive and sausages really tough and i'd expect at that price a pudding / ice cream dessert to be included.

Enjoyed an amazing Christmas meal with family, food choices were varied and all cooked to perfection, the puddings (baileys cheesecake) all beautifully presented and substantial portions. Staff so accommodating and everything was meticulously clean. Loved how when patrons came in with dogs they (dogs) received equally warm welcomes and bowls of water etc.

This Inn has become dog city. The dog owners have no respect for other customers eating or drinking in the Inn. There were couples and families with young children trying to eat their meals but couldn't because dogs were not leads, not sitting under the table, a dog was lying on the floor in the way of getting to the bar or toilets. There was even a dog running around off the lead and the female owner couldn't of cared less. The staff didn't do anything about it. In the end I just had a drink, I went outside to get away from the dogs and their ignorant owners. I ate at another pub in Ingleton. Not everyone wants to be near a dog when trying to eat or drink. People have allergies or don't feel comfortable with dogs being near them. There should be an area where no dogs are allowed. Or create an area just for dogs.

We're local to the area, and needed somewhere for tea on a Friday evening. It was already 8pm so we were slightly limited. We called ahead and asked if The Wheatsheaf were still serving food, they advised they were and last orders were 8:30pm. They were friendly on the phone and on arrival we were greeted by a friendly waitress who took us to the table they'd put aside for us. Friendly service, GREAT food and nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back. My reggae reggae chicken burger was fab, and the whole family said their meals were excellent.

The meal we had, was bad, the Lasagne was the worst we have ever had and the salad was inedible. The chips were cold. And I speak as a person who has run my own eatery and knows what customer satisfaction is all about! Although to be fair, the beer was good. To add insult to injury, the staff chased us out of the pub as we left and in to the street, and accused us of not paying the bill, when I had just stood at the bar and paid! My advice, DONT GO.

Nice pub ..fabulous welcoming waitress....ordered food...was quick to come out .. but the steak and ale pie was atrocious...just a few bits of steak no ale in it gravy around it made with cornflour..sent it back..they were good enough to send another... with one table spoon of steak and Im being generous at that. .which was also sent back....served with a hand full of chips and peas for £16.95..you really need to change your pie maker or charge half the price .the spinach korma was very nice I might add..but please take note on the pies you are serving..thank you for not charging us as it would have been an Insult! We felt so strongly about it and needed to let you know...we have never made complaints in the passed or done a review, hope this helps and really not meant maliciously.

We had a reserved table as we booked in advance. This was the first time we visited here. Bit confusing when we first entered as we were unsure whether to just find a table or wait to be greeted and shown to our table. We found it in the end as it had our name on a reserved ticket. We were requested to order at the bar because they were short staffed. The food was ok. We both had the sheaf burger and a kids chicken bites meal. The burgers were nice, however if ur not a fan of medium to rare burgers than stay clear or request it to be well done. Kids meal was OK. Fries on all meals were slightly overdone but still edible. The staff we spoke to were polite so can't fault them. Reasonably priced. Probably wouldn't return though.

We had booked a table for our dinner. Room was nice and service was great. My husband ordered the Wheatsheaf Stack which looked and tasted pretty impressive. The rest of the food however was disappointing. I ordered a pie and mash which tasted nice but wasn't very appetising. The kids meals were massively over priced. My daughter ordered sausage bites which was 1 sausage, if that, cut into 6 pieces with fries for £6.50. Pizza bites was 3 very small pieces of some kind of pizza. Wouldn't return.

2nd visit as we enjoyed our first greatly and when the kids seem enthusiastic about returning, you have to take it...! All our meals were freshly cooked, service was excellent and the overall cost didn't break the bank. I think £15 for a steak and ale pie main course is great value. Also, what is great is they have a kids menu, a bigger kids menu and then the adult menu. This allows those children that no longer wanting to order from the "kids" menu have something that is bigger but no food goes to waste. I personally think more restaurants could adopt this approach so well done to the Wheatsheaf for this. We hope to return again sometime soon...!

Called for a meal after walking the waterfall trail. We had booked in advance just in case with the covid thing but could have just turned up. We had read the menu online as my wife is vegan so had to find a suitable place to eat and the wheatsheaf had plenty of choice for her. Even has its own vegan section on the menu. We both had burgers and they were fabulous. Can recommend this place and the staff were friendly

We visited on a Monday to take advantage of the 'Eat out to help out' scheme. The food was ok but nothing special. Not worth the full price but ok value with 50% off. However, the drinks were ridiculously expensive, two single measures and coke cost approx £14!!! Far too expensive for what it is.

The veggie burgers weren’t bad at all and had nice toppings, but the place didn’t have a lot of atmosphere. The telly was which isn’t our cup of tea and the disinfect had made the tables really sticky.

This was our first visit to a pub since the Covid 19 restrictions were lifted. The new procedures have been implemented well and we felt safe. We chose to sit outside with our dog and there was more than ample distancing between tables. We observed staff wiping down the tables and seats after every guest left. It’s table service if you sit inside or order at the bar for outside guests. We only stopped for a pint but then felt reassured enough to order some food which was well cooked and very reasonably priced.

Been coming to this pub on off for 10 years since buying a static caravan near Ingleton .Visited in late January 2020 just for a couple of drinks - a pint of beer and a glass of wine - which came to nearly £9... kind of pricey for the village. The thing that concerned me was that as I was waiting to be served, I saw a couple being served who I know are locals... they run a business in the village. They ordered a couple of pints of beer and were charged £6. I was surprised that my round came to just under £9, so to check I asked for individual prices which included the beer that the other couple had bought. The price quoted to me for the beer would have meant that two pints of the same beer that the couple had paid £6 for would have been circa £7.20 - which didn't make sense, but did confirm a suspicion that I'd had since another experience at the same pub last year - THAT TOURISTS PAY ROUGHLY 20% MORE than locals, certainly for drinks - not sure about food. In the summer of 2019 I'd been in the pub, ordered a round that felt expensive, I queried it with the barman who was a little defensive and then asked if I was local... as if to imply that I'd get a discount if I was. He quickly backtracked when I said we had a static - but it just felt odd.I get that pubs in the village need to pull in local punters, particularly in the winter months and offering an incentive makes sense, but I don't think blatantly charging tourists more for the same drinks is ethical - it just feels like a rip off to me.

Called in for Sunday lunch, 4 of us, told to sit where we wanted as it wasn’t busy. Chose 4 Sunday roasts 3 beef and 1 ham. Arrived in reasonable time all the meals were hot with lots of fresh vegetables and plenty of gravy and whatever sauces we wanted. The meat was delicious. We all had sweets which were also lovely. Will definitely call again when in Ingelton

We booked a last minute room for a spontaneous night away. After walking on the Sunday we had a drink by the fire before check in. The pub was cosy and welcoming. The room was great, amazing views over the countryside with off-street parking outside. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and after a silent night’s sleep we were delighted with the freshly cooked and local breakfast choices. We will definitely be back to stay again soon!

we ordered steak and ale pie the filling was ok but the pastry was to thick the chips were the cheapest frozen chips you can get and the peas were not birds eye this is poor quality food at high prices I am sure the owner will be on saying I should of said some thing at the time but there is no point when your policy is to provide poor quality food to people who are just passing through and you will never see them again the best thing about this pub is the door on the way out

We came here not knowing any review or the place itself. We came on a Thursday evening about 6pm, were greeted politely and shown to a table. The server provided us with menus and came back five minutes later to take our order. Prices are reasonable, portions are a good size and the service and food were excellent. I don't always believe the odd negative review of Fish n Chip Restaurants as not all positive reviews are recorded, just the negative ones. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area again.

Unfortunately, the worst meal I've ever had at a Weatherspoons. Gourmet steak for me and char grilled chicken for my wife. Both sent back as being tough and uneatable. I suspect these had been pre-cooked and warmed up. The replacements were marginally better but not much. Very dissapointed.

Waited over 15 minutes to get served a drink. One uninterested barman for over 70 people. Had pre-ordered our food . It was given to someone else. The management refused to replace it as the kitchen was about to shut. Very arrogant attitude. On the plus side, a good pint of beer. Ate next door at the very friendly Lister Arms.

We called in just on speck and asked if food was available. They were serving Sunday roast with a good selection of meats. The service and the food was top class - highly recommended - great food at a great price!
