The best restaurants serving Default food in Abbey Bath and North East Somerset South West

Mi hijo y yo tomamos un almuerzo rápido aquí este fin de semana mientras visitábamos Bath. Queríamos probar en un lugar independiente en lugar de una gran cadena. Elegí un Brie y cebolla caramelizada y mi hijo tomó un huevo mayo. Nos dimos cuenta de que cobraban extra por comer, pero como la caja registradora estaba en una mesa en la puerta de una tienda muy pequeña, eso no habría sido posible. Esperamos en el frío, por suerte el servicio fue rápido. Las baguettes fueron envueltas en una bolsa cuando fueron entregadas. En primer lugar, las baguettes eran perfectas, suaves con la cantidad justa de crujiente. Sin embargo, ambas baguettes contenían ensalada, lechuga, tomate y pepino - esto estaba bien, inesperado pero bien, en el mío, pero sabía terrible en el huevo mayo! No había mención de ensalada en el tablero en la lista de ingredientes y no nos preguntaron si lo queríamos o no. Este es un descuido masivo cuando es posible tener una alergia al tomate! Perseveré con el mío, ya que el sabor general estaba bien, pero mi hijo tenía un par de bocados antes de comenzar! Qué desperdicio ya que no son baratos. Tal vez mi error fue no volver directamente y pedir otro sin la ensalada obligatoria. Si alguna vez vuelvo a Bath podría intentarlo de nuevo, pero comprobaría que sé lo que estoy recibiendo.

Tristemente, Banana tree decepcionado. No es frecuente que salgamos en familia por el tiempo y el dinero. Elegimos el árbol de plátano como mi marido es indonesio y se perdió Sapi rendang. La comida es muy buena no me malinterpretes. Pero el servicio es terrible extremadamente desatenta. Fuimos recibidos por una señora que era muy poco entusiasta y parecía que realmente no quería estar allí. El restaurante en sí estaba muerto, éramos nosotros y otra pareja que se sentó fuera. Esperamos al menos media hora antes de levantarme para llamar la atención del personal. El orden se tomó de memoria, no hay bloc de notas y pluma. La comida llegó rápidamente y luego mi esposo preguntó si nuestras bebidas vendrán pronto... a lo que un miembro diferente del personal dijo que no había pedido nada... Incluso tuvimos que pedir cubiertos. La factura incluye cargo por servicio opcional, dejé £ 3. 50 en lugar de las £ 9 que pedían considerando el servicio y la vibra del lugar fue una total decepción. La comida es buena. No tendría prisa por volver ni por recomendar a amigos y familiares.

Si usted está después de un excelente desayuno inglés adecuado, realmente no puede equivocarse aquí. El desayuno era excelente. A juzgar por el vasto menú que se ofrece, realmente no puede equivocarse... Dice mucho que estábamos rodeados de lugareños que estaban comiendo felizmente. GRAN PAN FRITO!

Cuando estaba sobre la cruz sobre el puente Pulteney, me di cuenta de una pequeña terraza linda situada en la orilla superior en la parte inferior del puente con unas cuantas mesas, sillas y sombrillas con vistas al río Avon y el vertedero. Una estrecha escalera de piedra me llevó a la terraza que en realidad pertenece a un pequeño restaurante tailandés llamado Thai Weir. Es todo un milagro que una mesa con vistas al agua estuviera disponible cuando estaba a punto de sentarme y disfrutar de una copa refrescante de Pinot Grigio con la mejor vista de la ciudad 😊

Llegué a Mjolk a las 3 pm un domingo. Y no podías comer NADA. Ni siquiera del menú. Acaban de decir que se han acabado. Muy pobre ya que no cierra hasta las 5. 30 pm. Normalmente me gusta mucho Mjolk y sus bollos de canela, la ubicación es genial, pero hoy muy decepcionado.

The highlight for me was the beautiful art installation above the bar, featuring cocktail glasses that really set the tone. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great drinks, a relaxed vibe, and an inspiring setting.

Best pub in Bath. Real, unpretentious, authentic, charming. Limited beer selection but I wouldn't hold it against them.

Came here for lunch as a group of two and had a great experience. Despite it being a Sunday on a bank holiday weekend, we were seated straight away with no wait. The place had just the right level of buzz—busy, but not overwhelming. All the staff were polite, friendly, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely lovely—flavourful, well-prepared, and genuinely felt authentic. It didn’t taste like a franchise trying to imitate traditional dishes. The portions were just right—not too heavy, but still satisfying. One detail I really appreciated was the open kitchen. It’s small and intimate, but it gives you a sense of trust—like your meal is being cooked with care by real hands. The cosy décor and ceiling fans added to the charm, giving the place a warm, tropical vibe. Would definitely recommend!

Ludo is a really nice space and very convenient location next to the bus and train stations. The decor and atmosphere is good and the outside area such a sun trap and the staff are so friendly. There is a great selection on draught and some decent cocktails. They show most live sports and there aren't many pubs in Bath for that, but would recommend booking a table for big matches! One slightly annoying thing is they don't turn the volume up for the sport until dead on the kick off time so you don't hear any of the build up. I appreciate not everyone wants to hear it but they tend to blast loud music out instead. Also, I came here on a Saturday to watch Bath Rugby and the game happened to be on at the same time as the FA Cup final. So you had the football and rugby commentatory both competing and it was just a big noise really. I think it might be better in those instances where big matches clash, to almost split the bar and have half of the screen on one side showing the football and half showing the rugby, that way, people can watch the game they want and not have to hear the other game as much. I would highly recommend giving Ludo a go

Decent boozer, close to Sydney Gardens, with choice of ales and ciders and some comfy furniture for those who prefer sofas as well as more conventional tables and chairs. Decorated with antique advertising posters.

Great Pub night. Small but perfect, staff are very friendly, traditional old English Pub. Wonderful night talking to other patrons, genuine people.

Was really looking forward to eating here having previously visited for cocktails and regularly visiting The Ivy in Manchester however left feeling underwhelmed. The reception staff didn't feel welcoming but the waiting on team thankfully were friendly. Our food was distinctly average and portion size was on the small size. It all just felt a bit dissapointing.
