La Baguette in Bath and North East Somerset

Mi hijo y yo tomamos un almuerzo rápido aquí este fin de semana mientras visitábamos Bath. Queríamos probar en un lugar independiente en lugar de una gran cadena. Elegí un Brie y cebolla caramelizada y mi hijo tomó un huevo mayo. Nos dimos cuenta de que cobraban extra por comer, pero como la caja registradora estaba en una mesa en la puerta de una tienda muy pequeña, eso no habría sido posible. Esperamos en el frío, por suerte el servicio fue rápido. Las baguettes fueron envueltas en una bolsa cuando fueron entregadas. En primer lugar, las baguettes eran perfectas, suaves con la cantidad justa de crujiente. Sin embargo, ambas baguettes contenían ensalada, lechuga, tomate y pepino - esto estaba bien, inesperado pero bien, en el mío, pero sabía terrible en el huevo mayo! No había mención de ensalada en el tablero en la lista de ingredientes y no nos preguntaron si lo queríamos o no. Este es un descuido masivo cuando es posible tener una alergia al tomate! Perseveré con el mío, ya que el sabor general estaba bien, pero mi hijo tenía un par de bocados antes de comenzar! Qué desperdicio ya que no son baratos. Tal vez mi error fue no volver directamente y pedir otro sin la ensalada obligatoria. Si alguna vez vuelvo a Bath podría intentarlo de nuevo, pero comprobaría que sé lo que estoy recibiendo.

Grandes bocadillos y pasteles. Tenía 2 baguettes encantadoras en pan integral y pollo. Absolutamente delicioso. Brownie era delicioso. Volveré por más.

He estado viniendo aquí por unos 78 años y las entregas de las mejores baguettes en Bath. Tiendo a ir por la baguette de salchichas calientes que siempre es delicioso. Actualizar a la oferta de comida siempre vale la pena obtener una bebida y un paquete de papas fritas con su baguette. Las pastas también son una buena opción. I love this place. This is my favourite baguette store in Bath. The staff are lovely and helpful. The prices are cheap. The baguettes are prepared freshly, with a great selection of fillings. There is even gluten free bread and lacto free fillings available.

A sandwich in sainsbury’s is thousands times better than a baguette from this shop. The workers are unpleasant (especially the girl who makes the baguettes). As a visitor to Bath, I thought I would try some new food in the process, This is when I stumbled upon La Baguette. Upon my entrance, the lady who had uncontrollable hair and body odour making it hard feel trusted in this product... I did however push past the fact that this may be unnerving for a food place. I did absolutely love the food I was served even though id like to think this young lady washed her hands before, to end I found her customer service unprofessional and rather rude!

Gemma & Max make the BEST baguettes! The bread is made daily and you can tell it is fresh. Found this tiny place on a visit with a friend a few years ago. Glad they survived the pandemic! Usually go daily when in town for a fresh lunch. Highly recommend for superb quality at a very reasonable price. 3.80 fir a ham, cheddar and salad baguette. And, no mayo!

I needed a quick bite to take on the go while exploring Bath, and came across this spot. The staff are very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. The baguettes are reasonably priced and were prepared very quickly.

Simply a place to get a baguette sandwich. Surpasses expectations. Lots of choices ranging from fatty and filling to healthy and light. Made to order. Service is quick. Great when needing something quick with many choices.

PAY ATTENCTION: if you order a Chicken pesto you will get only pesto an they will say you that the chicken is cut inside the sauce. I ate only leaves like my vegetarian cousin, so is very good if you search something like this

One of the worst baguettes I've ever had. Cheese salad baguette is what I asked for but there was no sauce or butter and I wasn't asked if I wanted any so didn't know I needed to say. The lettuce is half brown and gone off. 1 slice of tomato. And 2 very thin slices of cheese. Awful. I walked specifically to get a baguette here as before they've been great but this has put me off. There was even a cheese salad baguette in window which looked 100times better so why give me this rubbish

Great Baguettes. They sell the largest in town! Would recommend the Lily Baguettes, beautifully crusty on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside!

An alternative option for cornish pasties on a great price. Around £3.50 for a very generously sized pasty. I loved the chicken chorizo pasty more than the traditional one.

I used to go here all the time when I worked in town mainly for the great value for money. I went here not long ago and again loved the service and the food once again. The baguettes are very tasty and crispy!

Tonight we went to La Baguette and it was very good. Their paninis are some of the best I have ever had. I recommend this place if you’re in a hurry.

My husband and I got our lunch from here today - a pastrami, emmental and gherkin baguette and a falafel and houmus baguette which were both very tasty and amazing value for money. We would also recommend the dessert slices! :)

Vamos a Bath Christmas Market todos los años por un par de días y siempre visitamos esta tienda. La comida es muy fresca y nunca ha tenido baguettes o pasteles que no lo son. Este lugar es una parada obligada si desea disfrutar de una buena comida fresca en el camino o como nosotros los llevamos de vuelta a la cena en nuestra habitación de hotel para descansar nuestros pies muy cansados más tarde. El personal siempre ha sido encantador y educado en cada visita.

A solid takeaway sandwich place with a great variety, good portions and fillings and efficient service. Nowhere else I'd like to get some great value lunch, especially as it's surrounded by expensive cafe chains!

Went there to grab a quick lunch on the go. Got myself coronation chicken baguette which was tasty and fresh. Place is tiny but service was efficient. It's exactly what it's supposed to be in my opinion.

Puedes conseguir un sándwich de baguette muy decente y de buen tamaño aquí por una libra o dos. Los rellenos son simples, y no excesivamente rellenos, pero todo es fresco y delicioso. Agregue una rebanada de pastel o un pastel y un refresco, y tendrá un picnic muy económico. Se alinea bastante, pero el personal se organiza adentro para mantener la cola en movimiento rápidamente.

There are lovely ancient buildings to see so if it’s a nice day it’s worth getting a roll and soaking up the atmosphere.

Checked into our hotel and headed out for a snack before a wander around Bath. This was the first place we saw and, although there was nowhere to sit inside, we decided to get something to eat and sit outside on the benches just around the corner from the Pump House and Roman Baths. Husband had a cornish pasty which was very tasty and I had a coronation chicken baguette - bread was fresh and tasty and filling was generous. A nice cup of black coffee washed it all down. Lovely, fresh and tasty fillings and service with a smile from the nice chap working there. Lovely!

My company has recently relocated to Bath and this place is a great little find. Be careful though, as blink and you’ll miss it! Great range of baguettes and paninis and staff will do everything to accommodate your needs without a fuss. Also excellent value!

Il locale è situato proprio accanto alle terme di Bath, è molto piccolo e non fa coperti, quindi è solo da asporto. Apparentemente sembrano tipiche impanate siciliane ma in realtà sono delle sfoglie ripiene. Io ho preso quella ai funghi e pollo, che consiglio. I prezzi sono veramente bassi! Do 4 stelle solo perché non c è la comodità di avere un posto a sedere (neanchebsotto i portici), disagio che si avverte maggiormente dopo 2 ore di visita alle terme e pioggia incessante.

Having all done the Baths & Abbey we needed a Lunch fix and this shop ably filled that spot ! Saw the fairly large queue and thought there is proof in the pudding ! Had great pasties, baguettes, rolls & snacks and we had a great meal sitting outside on a street bench, munching & watching the world go by !!

This place is a real find, located right by the Abbey and Pump House they cooked to order 2 foot longs (sausage and bacon) and 2 large coffees for £8. Fresh, hot, tasty, great price, staff were friendly. Well worth a visit.

The staff was friendly, it is cheap, good bread, good filling and affordable prices. I asked the lady if there was something hot and she heated up my freshly made food to make it even hotter for me. :) . I asked about their business and they told me it is a family business which I totally support. I don't understand when people get a sandwich from the supermarket and not go for fresh good food.

Fancied a baguette and came across this place. The queue was out the door which I thought was a good sign, although the shop is absolutely tiny so it only takes a couple of customers to fill the place. The prices are very reasonable and the baguettes were fresh and tasty. You can't pay by card which is slightly disappointing. If I lived closer I would probably buy my lunch here every day!

La Baguette delivers a cheap eat and drink but the quality and quantity can be lacking. My wife grabbed a Brie panini which was thoroughly disappointing. It had a few thinly sliced pieces of Brie - there was nothing to it. My pasty on the other hand was adequate. I would go back but I think you have to pick and choose what to have and always ask for a decent portion of Brie!

I have been living in Bath for five years now and this is by far the best baguette shop in town, and most of them are around the £2 mark! Their chocolate flapjacks are pretty amazing to!

Grabbed a quick lunch here with my sister whilst visiting Bath. My pasty was warm and delicious and the strawberry rhubarb slice was top 5 best desserts I have ever had, so yummy! Good price and quick service, would definitely recommend.

I had a tomato,cheese and basil pasty,my boyfriend had a steak pasty and a cup of tea. Pasties were delicious,very cheap and the tea was very nice. Staff are friendly.A very cute, little bakery. This is the second time our family has been to Bath and the second time we've been to la baguette. Who needs subway when there are great little places like this. Loads of choice and variety. Five well filled, delicious baguettes and a couple of bottles of coke for around about £13. Great value and filling lunch. Would highly recommend.

On a busy and crowded (rainy) day in Bath we popped in here to get some hot food and bought hot pasties which we ate sitting in the rain. The pasties are very well filled and tasty with the pastry freshly baked, Also quite cheap in price The coffee was also welcomely hot though not particularly special and there is a range of juices from the fridge as well. The little take-out place was popular and suited our purposes perfectly.

Got a cheddar baguette panini for under 2 quid....and it was delicious! Highly recommend if you like sandwiches for take-away to minimize cost and reduce the time spent NOT touring!

It is a very small place but the food is inexpensive and excellent. We ate our lunch on a bench since there were no tables inside. My husband and I each had a pasty. I am from the Michigan's upper peninsula and grew up eating Pasties. These were different and I thought they were better. Each had sauce and could be eaten like a sandwich. The kids ordered sandwiches and we also had dessert bars. Everything was wonderful, and the service was excellent.

Had a day visit to bath. We just needed a quick bite to eat before leaving. This baguette shop was very popular and was queued out the door-ALWAYS a good sign!! There were many flavours to pick from. The lady who served me was very pleasant and I would more than recommend this for a baguette on the go! The staff are so friendly and efficient. The prices are so brilliant especially for Bath. It's £2 for a fresh baguette with generous filling. They offer several pastries and cakes as well all for £1 or there about. Very tasty as well. Will absolutely be going back and 100% recommend!

Surrounded by touristy rip-off joints it was a pleasure to find a little sandwich shop selling fresh filled baguettes at a SENSIBLE price!I had a Coronation Chicken and salad baguette for £2 which I think is a bargain. Sticks two fingers up to the pretentious eateries nearby. Went back the following day as it was so good. Simple business rule: serve a good product at a sensible price and wait for the customers to come back time and again. Gets my vote.

Came here for my breakfast on a Sunday morning, lovely sausage sandwich is just what I needed. All prepared in the shop, they also sell some cakes that are incredibly tempting. Best to get here before midday as they get very busy! Always a good sign!

Very well placed (next to the romans baths), cheap and it has some marvellous pastries. You should do your lunch here instead on the Costa, Burguer or any other tipycal restaurant around.

Ordered a chicken and pesto baguette and when I opened it up at work to eat, discovered there was virtually no chicken or pesto whatsoever... maybe 2 x 1cm square pieces of chicken in the entire baguette, lettuce, cucumber and what looks like mayonnaise. Thought I'd go to an independent shop as they'd appreciate my custom more. But, feeling very tricked!

Warm and friendly staff and great value for money - I couldn't believe somewhere in Bath sold fresh sandwiches for the price. I had a very tasty coronation chicken on granary and my wife a ham - both were tasty and the bread was obviously fresh. A great place to grab a snack/quick lunch.

I went there with my partner before heading to the spa and knew there would be queues, so decided to pick up a hot chocolate and some cake for us whilst we waited, whilst it was frothy it wasn't really chocolate, dish water would have been more appropriate. Lake warm and nasty. I would have scored them lower but the cake was ok and for that alone they didn't get the lowest score. At £1.30 it's a false economy... better paying a little more and getting a tasty chocolate

I have visited Bath many times and each time I made sure I pop into La Baguette for some lunch. It's easily the best value lunch around....you can get a baguette for around £2.

This place is very busy, it can take some time to get your food. The food is really good once you get it. Hot and cold sandwiches made to order, pastries, pizzas, etc are all served. I had a bacon sandwich, it was very tasty. I found all the staff to be friendly. Perfect to pop in for a quick bite to go.

I popped in last Sunday morning as the door was wide open, only to be greeted by a miserable woman grunting they weren't open yet. I apologised and went to leave but the other, slightly more helpful lady behind the counter told me to come in, and said I could buy anything they had already made for the day. I asked if they had bacon to which the lady said she would make some. Not wanting to put her out I asked her if she was sure. She said yes and went to make the bacon. In the mean time I had to stand and wait while her colleague glared at me, made a big point of closing the door and muttering and huffing about what an inconvenience I was. She then continued with her ranting about how her colleague Sarah had called in sick and how she'd hung up on her mum, she was so sick of it...an entirely inappropriate conversation to have whilst I was stood there. When the baguette was finally made it really was not worth the wait! The baguette was stale and the bacon was really greasy. Thanks to the woman who at least attempted to be friendly and polite, but as for her colleague she needs some serious training in customer service. There are so many nice, independent or even chains which you can eat in in Bath, don't waste your time being insulted and enduring this abysmal service, go somewhere else, the price was far too high for what you're served.

Good location to grab something quickly.Had the heated veg pasties and cheese salad baguettes, which was quite ok.The gem is the cakes, which are only £1. Less than the other shops.Chocolate brownies and choc muffins were some of the best we ever had. So much so went back just to get these the next day.

To be honest, I have not even tried the baguette I bought as I was appalled by the way it was made and I feared food poisoning, so had to throw it out. I asked for a cheese and salad baguette and I saw a few at the window display. I paid for my baguette and the lady at the till asked another lady to fetch the baguette. Rather than getting one from a display, the other lady, one of two who were at that moment cleaning the counters and fridges, decided to make a 'fresh' one for me. After she put a wet cloth she held in her bare hands, she took the baguette without washing her hands, cut it in mid air, put the baguette on the fridge, moved the cloth, with the same unwashed hands put some cheese in... I guess my fault for not being assertive enough and asking for a baguette made with clean hands. I do not like throwing food away, but the thought of the lack of hygiene just made me feel unwell, and had to get my dinner from a local supermarket. Shame as it looked nice enough and the prices were very reasonable.

My wife and I often purchase a freshly made baguette here when shopping in Bath. They make a wide range of fillings and in addition customers can buy hot drinks paninis, pizza bread, hot soup and cakes.Although you will often see queues outside because the prices are very reasonable. The ladies serve customers quickly and always with a pleasant smile.

I had a tuna baguette and my husband had coronation chicken with a bottle of water for under a fiver. Great value for money in an area where a restaurant wanted £15 for a sandwich. Fresh bread tasty filling and although we did not not have any the pasty and cakes looked good too.
