The pub was inviting, creating a cozy atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good—tasty and well-prepared. However, the main downside was the waiting time. Despite the pub not being busy, our meals took much longer than expected to arrive, which was quite frustrating. Overall, it’s a nice place with a great atmosphere, but the slow service takes away from the experience. I’d consider returning, hoping for a quicker turnaround next time.
Had a last minute pub lunch recently and we regularly choose to visit this pub due to great choice, fair prices and a warm and friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.
Have toys available for toddlers to entertain whilst waiting for food and a safe area in which they can play.
As always their attention to detail regarding cleanliness is impeccable and Katherine their cleaner is second to none ensuring it's a clean and safe place for all

We booked for a table, and received a confirmation email, but then when we arrived after our 1 hour drive, it was closed, we had had no notice or email about this from the restaurant, and on google it claimed that they were open, we ending up eating in a lovely restaurant opposite, meaning we watched multiple other people have the same experience as us. Utterly disappointing!
Make sure that you avoid this place & in particular the young boy that serves on the counter, as he tried to overcharge me then get defensive & rude. Lumpy rice, & batter on prawn balls was overcooked so hard to the point where I had to throw them away.
Prime cost for garbage food
AVOID!!!
Ordered online very early to be delivered at 19:00, 19:20 food hadn’t arrived, rang them to find where food was and a very rude woman said it should be here as driver had left at 19:10, 19:50 still hadn’t received it so rang again and was told he should have delivered it, it arrived at 19:53 and was freezing cold.
Driver told us that he had 3 other deliveries before us that they made him do. They didn’t care that the food was stone cold, no apology for the nearly an hour late delivery or the cold food, she spoke to me as if it was my fault….
Absolutely disgusting service…
AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE …….
Usually buy from cuckfield and it’s cooked fresh but tonight even though I called I was clearly given fish that had been sitting cooked a few hours before feedback it’s not very nice and not worth 31.00. Shame as I think I will try another F&C shop to try.

Hair in my food, staff don’t wear hats, forget to put gloves on, and don’t offer to toast sandwiches they put minimum effort in food is decent has potential
Not worth the money, I wanted to treat myself as I was working a very long day, ordered my favourite Chai tea latte, and an almond croissant. There were some people in front of me, and 4 people behind the counter, it was about 1/2 before closing time Sunday afternoon. I went an waited for my tea and had the croissant, two people were obviously cleaning and tidying up, only actually preparing the orders, which one was apparently a very big order of cold drinks. I thought I would enjoy the croissant while I waited, it turned out to be utterly dry and not nice and no almond filling inside. I had two mouthful and put it in the bin, I waited for my tea and waited for my, there were still only one person making the orders, so I left with a very bad taste of not being serviced, as there was still 4 people behind the counter, but not 4 people service the customers.
Priorities looked very off.
