Filthy tables, tables not cleared and coffee that would remove paint from the front door. I won’t be returning. Why on earth is it so popular? Maybe people are just brainwashed by the hype?

Being part of a chain of cafes, this one is identical to every other Caffe Nero. Naturally, the differences would be location and staff. As far as I am concerned, both were ideal. They heated my toastie just the way I like it, with my coffee of a decent quality. The only thing was that only two members of staff were present, with a fair amount of customers to serve. Because of this, my waiting time to be served was not ideal. The staff did their best though under the circumstances.

Lovely friendly staff, always attentive and chatty! Would recommend as a regular coffee spot, lots of comfy seating too. P.S wheelchair accessible location with loo available

I enjoy the general ambience of Café Nero in East Grinstead and the coffee is better than Costa and Starbucks, even if a little on the pricey side. I always feel a little sorry for the staff in the cramped area they have to work in and wash the crockery. But my main bugbear is the toilets - a pokey, florescent bulb lit midden. Please do something about these poor facilities. Really puts me off going there.

Caffe Nero coffee is definitely my film favourite for actual coffee amongst the coffee big boy brigades. But it does seem that the one in East Grinstead have major staff issues when it comes to clearing and wiping tables. The last four times I have been there it has been absolutely filthy. The tables were piled high with cups, and customers were clearing them themselves. I too have had to move dirty cups on to other tables and ask staff for a cleaning cloth. Don't get me started on the toilets as I may well gag! Surely they divide staff into a couple behind the counter and one on the actual floor clearing and cleaning. I much prefer the nest over the road now, as you can be assured of the cleanliness.

The service is always very slow and disorganised - coffee not quite as good as other Neros. Tables are not cleared for quite sometime.

The offerings in the new menu were temptingly displayed at the counter so we tried the pork and pancetta sausage roll and the Italian deli meat sandwich. Both are a great hit and the salads to accompany look inviting too. Coffee exceptional as ever!

I started working in East Grinstead early this week and called for a takeaway coffee, it was excellent! So yesterday I called in for another, I had limited time so didn’t return the very bitter, very strong and very little milk coffee, however I tried again this morning and very politely explained my thoughts on the coffee from yesterday to the guy how had made it the day before, I explained that it had been very bitter and very strong and that I would like more milk, after the coffee had been made I thought I had better try it and it was disgusting! I asked for more milk to be added which the did but then proceeded to fill the cup beyond me being able to put the lid back on, I had already paid but was so angry I left the coffee and said to the guy not to worry . I will never return.

So many dogs in this cafe I thought I'd sat down in a Dog Boarding Kennel. Surely there must be hygiene/safety issues regarding this!!! Shame because the staff were pleasant and the coffee not bad, I would not want to eat in here because of all the dogs (must have been four in all in a small area). I think the dog owners should get off their backsides and walk the dogs and take them to a cafe in the local park and sit outside!!!!! and to think it's probably this sort who moan about children travelling on planes!!!!

Why are there never more comfy chairs? No seriously, the seating is fine, but the armchairs are best. This is a regular haunt, and I recommend the App. Food is of great quality, hot and freshly baked if you’re lucky. The new little breakfast pots are surprisingly tasty. It’s the coffee of course that tempts you back, but the visitors are often more friendly than the staff. And please Caffè Nero, give a bit more room for dirty plates? When the staff are busy, which they usually are, the tables pile up with uncleared crockery. Maybe a few more free newspapers too?

My wife visited Caffè Nero in East Grinstead on Friday 22nd June and Friday 23rd November, after each visit she developed symptoms commensurate with food poisoning. We contacted Caffè Nero on 26th November who replied on 5th December wishing my wife well, highlighting that the food they sold was from “reputable” sources and asking for details of what my wife had consumed and when the symptoms occurred. We promptly replied to them, we have heard nothing since. We will not be using them again. I note that other reviewers have have commented on the lack of cleanliness in this branch.

I've been here many times on my own and with my family. I can't fault the coffee and the almond croissants are always delicious. However, many times the tables have stayed messy from previous people for far too long. The staff have time to chat behind the counter, they should be attending to the floor and making sure everything is in order. If I was running an eatery I'd make sure everything was perfect and comfortable for the people who come in and spend their hard earned money in my establishment. There should be nothing that anyone can make fault with, lift your game Cafe Nero.

A lovely little shop with a nice view of the High Street, great for watching the world go by. Unfortunately the lady messed up our order and I ended up with a Latte rather than a Flat White but it was nice all the same !

I visit Caffe Nero in East Grinstead regularly for a hot drink. Every time I am happy with the service I receive and the quality of the drinks. There is always plenty of cake and pastries available, too. There is always space to sit down, even at the busiest of times. There is a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the seating area.

This is by far the best Cafe Nero branch I've tried-and I've tried a few as I like their coffee. At times they are stretched and plates and cups are not always cleared away swiftly, but they more than compensate for this with friendly, efficient service and reliably remembering their regular customers preferences.

Getting Off the train at Brighton railway station you will see this excellent cafe/Restaurant. We came here last year and it was just as friendly & welcoming as before..Plenty of seats and tables with a friendly staff. Our Lattes were tasty & delightful.. Well worth a visit.

Not worth the money, I wanted to treat myself as I was working a very long day, ordered my favourite Chai tea latte, and an almond croissant. There were some people in front of me, and 4 people behind the counter, it was about 1/2 before closing time Sunday afternoon. I went an waited for my tea and had the croissant, two people were obviously cleaning and tidying up, only actually preparing the orders, which one was apparently a very big order of cold drinks. I thought I would enjoy the croissant while I waited, it turned out to be utterly dry and not nice and no almond filling inside. I had two mouthful and put it in the bin, I waited for my tea and waited for my, there were still only one person making the orders, so I left with a very bad taste of not being serviced, as there was still 4 people behind the counter, but not 4 people service the customers. Priorities looked very off.

The food here is delicious and it’s amazing to find so many vegan options that also taste lovely. The Bronuts are inspired! Worth a visit alone. The kitchen opening times are a bit hit and miss which can be frustrating. The staff are very friendly. The decor is pleasant although the music can be too loud and distracting. The only change that could make it better would be if it opened all day especially at weekends.

I'd never visited before. I despise Tim whatever his name is for backing the UK ruining Brexit, and I assumed everyone in any Wetherspoons would be of his viewpoint so I've stayed away. However, I realise that was stupid, and actually I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service was very fast. Drinks are ridiculously cheap. Two pints and a coke for the same price as a pint almost in Brighton. People who were eating looked happy enough with their food, again, cheap. And the best thing of all was that it was full of people enjoying themselves, where as most pubs are empty. I'll be going back. Easy to reserve a table, spaciously laid out, bar staff were stressed but polite, toilets were clean, place was clean. Nothing to complain about really.
