The best restaurants serving Default food in Rochester West Medway South East

Been back after 3 years for refreshing my memories me and partner had here. So in love with the building and atmosphere it is creating. We had cheese boards and while i was enjoying taking some photos of outside my partner was enjoying all the cheese boards inside 😂. I like to sit out and enjoy to capture daily life of people and beautiful & historical town. Btw lovely staff as usual, delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Just had last bits of cheese and move on. Next time i’ll eat first and then get photos 😅

A real Shame!!!! I can’t believe this tea-room is still opened. The waitress didn’t even care if you enjoyed your meal or not. She saw I didn’t eat anything but didn’t ask why.

PHENOMENAL!!! I recently visited Cafe Nucleus and was thoroughly impressed by the friendly and attentive staff. The food exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and value, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for up market place to have food or drinks. Phenomenal deco and amazing atmosphere!! Thank you soo much guys , I will be back again and again x ps.. This waffle with maple syrup and fruit was exceptional ♥️

As a chef, came in couple of times now with my son who also works in a kitchen (also italian) & now asks to come here regularly.. had a good selection of items from a varied menu on both occasions & everything was faultless, very good standard 👍 Tends to get a bit noisey when there's a group of women in there though, but that's just down to the style of building, cant be helped, we just put our napkins in our ears 😉

Have been here many times. A favourite place. Another lovely brunch. So friendly and great food. Had the all day breakfast. Lovely quality produce. Gorgeous. Feel very welcome, with a friendly chat.

Lovely old tea shop in Rochester. The entrance is easy to miss though.Its on the main street and upstairs, so you would have to be mobile to go there. Expect to wait 15 mins as it's very popular and doesn't seat alot. Staff very friendly and welcoming,lovely homemade food

This place never fails when it comes to value for money, quality, and service. Lovely family run restaurant in the heart of Rochester. Lovely freshly cooked British foods. Great portion sizes. Very kid friendly too. Lovely friendly and helpful staff too.

Gorgeous hidden gem in Rochester. Came in for a bite to eat, enjoyed perfectly-made food. Would definitely recommend 👍 5 stars!

We popped in for a coffee on a grim day. Very interesting place, great coffee and lovely chat. Will be back.

Visited this restaurant for the first time but it will definitely be my last. Was advised when we walked in that there had been a problem with booking and we would have to vacate the table by 8pm. (Allowing an hour and a half for the meal.) We agreed but soon wish we hadn’t and had gone elsewhere. The tables were so close together and the place so overcrowded and very noisy. My friend had to keep standing up and moving to let others by. I have a gluten allergy and was advised that every thing on the menu could be made gluten free. Unfortunately when we ordered I was advised that potatoes were not gluten free. I asked if they could replace the potatoes with gluten free pasta and they agreed for an ADDITIONAL price of £8.50. This was totally unacceptable so I asked for the potatoes to be replaced with a portion of plain white rice. No additional charge was mentioned except they added £2 extra on the bill. Unbelievable .To supplement an expensive meal we had to order a side of roasted vegetables. The prawns had not been cleaned with very little meat in them. I gave it 2 stars as we did enjoy the starters. To top it all they added a service charge to the bill - which we didn’t pay. Apparently this restaurant had been classed as one of the top ten to visit in Rochester. Unfortunately the problems we encountered ruined our experience there.

Had lunch here with family - great choices, reasonably sized portions, reasonably priced.

Amazing! I loved the atmosphere, the service was quick, the food was amazing and I was full only with the burger. The fries were amazing too 🤤 I loved every minute of it.

Deserves the accolade of best restaurant in Rochester. We had a really great “post Mother’s Day celebration”. David our waiter gave us an amazing service. He was attentive, gave great advice and really ensured we had a great time. The quality of the food was exceptional, from starters to desserts. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Pub has a great atmosphere. Staff are lovely and there is always someone around to have a good chat to. Lots of live music, a great place for young people and also the older punter. Nice selection of drinks and snacks. Pool table is a great addition, and the garden/courtyard, although small, is a nice little space. The pub dog is great and the ginger girl behind the bar is lovely too.

Great service, food came within minutes and tasted hot and fresh, great little diner
