Actually in Rochester June 22 and going back to Rochester September 23, Plan to go back to Legends for breakfast great full Monty with friendly staff. Taking some American friends to try on our way back to US and they cannot wait, even my grandson got hooked when we went in 2022 and we went 3 mornings in a row. Strange how a few bad reviews elsewhere all suggested a different place to try instead of here.

I went for the first time with my Daughter after her ballet lessons. Service was super quick, which is exactly what you want from a cafe @ breakfast time. Accommodating for any additions that I wanted with my breakfast. Very clean and not greasy at all. Good coffee All in all, very good and will be back.

Hungry family of four looking for a good old greasy spoon breakfast and Legends didn’t disappoint! I had been here once before many years ago and had a good experience and I’m happy to say we also had a good experience this time. Would definitely return. Was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and was fairly busy. We could make adaptations to the set breakfasts too. The wait for our food was about 10 minutes which was good and the food arrived nice and hot. The only reason I marked 4/5 was because I didn’t get my hash brown although we did have lots of toast. Well done Legends! You will see us again soon!

Op basis van de reacties en foto's hier gingen wij langs voor een ontbijt op een maandag, dat viel helaas tegen. Eten was redelijk lauw, enigzins smaakloos en de ambiance is heel matig.

This is a traditional style cafe serving breakfasts all day and basic main meals. We had a chicken curry jacket potato and ham egg and chips with two ground machine made coffees for less than a tenner. Terrific value, the ham was cut off a home cooked joint not processed. The curry homemade. The place is clean and busy. Worth walking out of the main high street to find as it represents very good value.

We had our breakfast there with my wife's twin sister who came from Bournemouth for the weekend to see the Town of Rochester. We had a tea and a large baguette each which came to £4.80 per person. If you saw the size of the baguette this was the largest we have ever had. They were very polite and the services was good. Do not be fooled by the outside appearance of this place.

This cafe has clear windows uncluttered by adverts and general tat and is centrally located, just a minute from the High Street. Inside the floor is of blue lino and on the walls are a variety of photographs of screen legends - Monroe etc,, although they need to be re-framed and to be brought into a uniform design. There are 12 tables, but they and the chairs are secured to a pole and cannot be moved and those in the centre of the cafe are a bit too close together. My all-day breakfast was quickly cooked, smartly delivered by friendly staff. The sausages were of the cheap variety though and it came with tinned and not fresh tomatoes. The mushrooms, bacon and coffee however were excellent and the cups and plates of a matching design. A competitive price for the fare.

After a 45 minute drive southeast from London, through a cold grey Kent morning, we arrive at the Legends Cafe, one of our favourites, for an early morning breakfast in Rochester. At 7:00 am the cafe exudes warmth, the heat quickly fogging up our spectacles. Soon Happy Husband gleefully holds his cup of piping hot tea! Yes, they happily provide a substantial pitcher of hot milk upon request. "Historic Rochester" brochures boldly proclaim "where legends were created," thus the cafe name. Not sure Dickens or Wellington actually ate here, but Dickens surely walked the street! And William the Conqueror probably passed nearby assessing the spot for the Rochester Castle, the keep of which holds the grand honour of being the tallest keep in England at 113 feet high. (Don't trust my history lessons to be exact; it's the two eggs on toast I'm after. But I do love Rochester.) So, going with the theme, Legends Cafe's decor focuses on Hollywood Legends. We figure eight framed photos constitute a theme. Back to the eggs and toast...Happy Husband's smile attests that we're pleased with our meal. The toast is thick and perfectly toasted. They don't poach eggs, but the fried eggs run when pierced, just as they should. The £2 price is a pleasant 50p less than most cafes we've found. The counter staff provides friendly and pleasant assistance. We overhear a stead flow of women's chat covering topics from tropical fish to family stuff, but not so loud as to be bothersome. The real treat at this place is no noise! No music. No loud cappuccino machines. No TV. Just a peaceful warm space in which to enjoy the newspapers provided. Okay, we did hear a bit of noise...the air hand-dryer in the loo and the milk steamer she used for our hot milk. But that's it. And the loos --- on site and very clean! Overall, the cafe presents a clean and pleasant atmosphere, plenty of seats for all, and a menu board with lots of choices. Enough working men chow down a hot meal or come in to grab takeaway to provide our desired connected-to-the-community feeling. There's free parking out back, but we like to park at the Castle Parking area, then walk around the Cathedral (built in 1060), ambling along a tree-lined pathway through a park, then up the street to Legends. We complete a circle back to the car, walking down the historic high street that always delights with its Dickens-links, tea shops, book stores, charity shops. So, there you have it...another tasty Breakfast in Britain.

Tucked away across on the second right off the big main road you need to cross on the way from the station to all the historic sites of Rochester on (i.e not Star Hill but the next road- and not the High Street)- about 100 metres up- is Legends. If you want a classic British 'caff' then this is it. Big portions - big fry-ups - with tea and toast. I had a hangover one morning and Legends sorted me out! Big mushroom and cheese omlette, loads of chips, a tea, a coke and slices of buttered toast. My wifer had bascon suasange egg the works.. Just what the doctor ordered. I think it was around 6 quid! 'Lovely job-ly". You can get pies, roast dinners, cooked breakfasts etc.. It is a big menu and a big feed! You get a lot of builders in there fuelling up during a tough day. Always a good sign- (if they work in the area they have usually checked out and discovered the best caff in the area).I went again the next day and had a big brerakfast!
