We were not made aware that some rooms are old fashioned, whilst another ones are new fashioned. One of my colleagues also got a fine during two night stay after clearly stating and inputting her registration number on arrival.

A small Subway with very limited seating and a rather poor view of an uninteresting parking lot despite an all glass facade. Despite this the food is exactly what you'd expect of a subway, the service is usually good and the prices exactly the same as any other subway. Not worth going out of your way for but a solid option for lunch if you're in the area.

Came here August 2023 and a lovely young man helped me and my elderly mother purchase furniture. He then helped dismantle it and get it to my car. I came back recently to found out he no longer works here which is a shame as he was very friendly and helpful. His name was james or jacob I think. The staff now weren't as helpful and I could hear them talking loudly about another staff member which I thought was rude and unprofessional.

Family treat for our eldest daughters 21st birthday. We all opted for the buffet, which I think everyone else in the restaurant did. Had to wait a while for veggie pizzas to come out, but was nice. Although the deep pan ones came out after I'd finished eating, which was annoying as I prefer deep pan. Tomato pasta was very nice, I had 2 bowls. Only 2 of us had salad, but it looked nice. There were signs for manager special pizzas, but signs didn't say what they were, which would've been handy. Was very expensive for what we had, but it was very nice, hot food and will probably visit again, but only as a treat for a birthday. Thank you.

We were so pleased to see John Lewis reopen their cafe a couple of months ago but so disappointed that there are no vegan ( dairy and egg free options ( aside from a couple of cereal bars which are often sold out)).Visiting today we counted 18 cake and scone options, none of which were vegan, and 7 sandwiches, none of which were vegan. We appreciate that a more limited menu is available than before but with this range of cakes there must be room for one or two vegan options and at least one vegan sandwich!Prior to lockdown there were two vegan cakes and two vegan sandwiches/ wraps so we know it can be done! The cafe offers at least two non- dairy milks and the hot chocolate is dairy free also so there is an acknowledgement that there are customers who can't/don't have dairy. With vegan options expanding in virtually all cafés, restaurants and supermarkets John Lewis café is, sadly, lagging behind the times ☹️

My wife is a big KFC fan, whilst I am very much indifferent to it, whilst being largely scathing about the sort of people that go to KFC. However, my wife convinced me that we should have KFC in our hotel room once our daughter was asleep, and as she agreed to run across Eureka Way to go and collect it, I reluctantly acquiesced. We had the larger pieces of chicken and some popcorn chicken, plus some creamy mash (we got two portions instead of the one that we paid for, so that was a bonus) and gravy. To my eternal surprise, it was actually really nice! Maybe my tiredness and hunger blurred my judgement, or maybe I have been wrong about KFC for all this time. The chicken was really good, the coating was tasty, the mash was very good, and the gravy was an inspired addition. It was so enjoyable that I might even be convinced to have it again - though it will be a cold day in Hell before I step foot in one of their actual stores.
