The best restaurants serving Default food in Rothbury Northumberland North East

Fabulous find, great pub and really helpful, friendly staff. Will definitely return. Great opening hours and so lovely that it’s a proper pub for the community.

Just like when i was a young lad, fish and chip van stopping here and there serving great food, was told by a lady in the butchers in Rothbury to look on the website and then you know where he will be, did not let us down, lovely fresh fish.

Had an amazing meal here, moved to the area 6 months ago and wished we’d tried this place sooner! Very much a traditional old Italian restaurant, lovely food. Will definitely be back.

Went for breakfast, had the hangover cure, food was cold, bacon was virtually raw, mushrooms had a funny taste, only hot thing on the plate was the one sausage! Certainly not worth £20!

Menu was varied and food was delicious with massive portions. We visited twice during our stay to Rothbury. Weather was glorious when we visited so we were also able to enjoy a drink in the beer garden which had lovely views of the Rothbury countryside. Staff were also very friendly. Would highly recommend!

A lovely day so we sat outside in the gorgeous garden. Food was amazing. Had the chicken kiev followed by biscoff cheesecake. Friendly owner and great service. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back.

Nearest pub to our accomodation, spent several evenings here chatting with the locals and enjoying local ales. We had the pie off the day (steak and ale) one evening and it was delicious. Definitely more steak than you usually get in a pie. Had to have several more drinks before heading home else we would have needed a push up the hills!! Nice little corner with local products in the coffee shop area, cakes looked rather tasty but we were only in of the evenings.

The scone was lovely, coffee great it was a welcome break after the walking we did.

Lovely little friendly cafe. Must stop here for Gibbet cake. Fabulous! Nice country area to walk around.

Plenty for a whole day out. We explored the grounds by car due yo limited mobility but looking forward to return to explore on foot when more mobile. What looks like a brilliant play area for kids. House fascinating with knowledgable guides.

Went to the pub this week to meet up with old friends and can only say 5* throughout Had few drinks, couple Cocktails and staff were great, friendly, fun and welcoming. The food is amazing, given then Covid situation the owner is on the ball,...

I'm writing this as there aren't many reviews food is always excellent run by geordie ratcliffe as this was his late wife's cafe for years he runs the cafe as Jeanette would i may be a friend but he serves excellent food keep up the good work geordie see you tomorrow morning around 9.30a.m

Must admit to being a little disappointed. The English breakfast was OK but the bacon was so well done it was brittle. The sausages were delicious. The eggs benedict came with no hollandaise sauce which we found strange The service was really good, we couldn't fault the guy who served us. Very expensive😳

This small family-run delicatessen is a great place to shop locally for wholefoods and locally produced goods, including hand-made bread, local jam, honey and chutneys, biscuits and cakes, various local beers and other drinks, cheese and meat as well as plenty of ideas for small gifts. There are also a good number of vegetarian products. Plenty of non-food items too such as genuinely environmentally friendly household cleaning, soap, toiletries, even socks! Really amazing what is contained in this TARDIS-like shop! There is a café in the back of the shop which is popular with walkers (I can’t comment as I haven’t been to the café myself), and also a separate counter for buying loose local cheese and there’s always a great selection including my favourite Cuddy’s Cave. The one gripe I have being the use of throwaway plastic wrap/cling film in an otherwise very environmentally friendly shop. I must mention the fantastic “tea wall” (as I call it), a large section of shelving containing such a huge range of tea, including herbal and fruit teas (sadly no Dr Stuart’s recently so I have had to buy online). There is also a range of locally roasted coffee. Although we prefer to buy from small local businesses can be difficult to get what we need locally (we aren’t fans of the one local supermarket at all) so Tully’s is really good to pop into for certain items. All in all it’s an essential local store which I enjoy visiting. We recently had family visiting from the Netherlands who enjoyed visiting Tully’s too.
