Cragside Tea Shop in Northumberland

The scone was lovely, coffee great it was a welcome break after the walking we did.

Pleasant tea room with the usual selection of hot and cold fare. Staff friendly and very efficient.

Great teashop and restaurant in the old stables and yard. Excellent choice and did quality. Self service with efficient food delivery

Staff are always friendly and attentive and the food is always spot on after a good stomp around the grounds.

Fantastic food at good prices. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options, for those who look for that.

It's a cafe with a limited menu. What they do is fine. Nothing amazing but not disappointing. That's probably the best you can expect in from a high volume catering place. Limited inside seating and some open and partially covered outdoor seating in the stable yard.

Much improved menu since my last visit. Very quick service. Lots of people clearing tables. Impressed.

Went in today and wasn't expecting anything to be allergen friendly but I was really happy to see that there were a few vegan options on the menu. The server (i didn't catch his name) but he was lovely and so helpful when it came to allergens and even came back to mention my cake may contain milk; so didn't want to chance it. Love the fact they offered alternative milks in both coffee shops as well. Also the young lass serving at the little coffee shop actually under cragside house was lovely and also really helpful yet again when it came to the milk allergy. Both these staff went above and beyond and didn't make me feel like a burden.

Recently upgraded servery is an improvement but menu less unique than before. Indoor and outdoor seating.

I want so hard to like this cafe, but really struggle to recommend it. We visited on a busy day and it was proper unmanaged bonkers. No tables, not enough staff, food...was okay but nothing to write home about. Staff were lovely and tried to help, but the biggest issue is too little space for too many people. It's meant to be National Trust and relaxed cafe with good relaxed vibes. None of this happened.

You won't get the cheapest meal ever but it's nice and service is good.

A typical National Trust tearooms. Snacks and cakes are all good, but nothing extraordinary.

The tea shop is nice offering seating indoors and outside in the courtyard. Food selections covered both hot and cold food options. We had a toastie and a pastie, both were excellent. The toastie came in at £7.95 it came with salad. It felt a little on the expensive side. However,there are picnic tables too so visitors can choose what works best for them.

We visit cragside often, the tea shop has been reorganised with a much better layout which makes more space . Staff are friendly and attentive, as for food we only have cake and coffee/cold drinks (can't really comment on the rest)

Since our last visit in September the cafe has had a makeover which gives it a fresh feeling. The limited (for early January) menu was good and the staff as welcoming and friendly as ever.

Staff are pleasant, it's a bit of a chaotic system which always seems to get clogged up by the coffee machine queue. There's a lovely courtyard and picnic area next to the lake. Food is all good but I've been unlucky twice with the scones being very dry. Don't let that put you off though, just maybe resist the scones..
