Lovely service from landlord. Perfect location for anyone walking, cycling or driving in Rothbury area. Dog friendly. Excellent views from the landscaped terraced beer garden.

Visited yesterday whilst on a walk. Friendly landlord, welcoming pub and 2 refreshing drinks. We haven't visited for years and we're really impressed by all that the landlord has gone.

What a lovely pub. Run by a fantastic couple Mark and Simone. Food first class. Beautiful garden and great atmosphere. Thanks for a lovely day.

Stayed the night in our campervan, landlord happy to park as along as you have a meal or drinks, made to feel very welcome, food good beer good and fantastic views from their beer garden, highly recomend

Went to this pub today with 40 members of our walking group, St Edwards Fellwalkers from Whitley Bay following a walk in the area. Due to a misunderstanding, the pub was not expecting us but rallied around. The staff were fabulous, warm, friendly and very well mannered. Food was fantastic. Thank you to everyone there. Recommend highly to everyone.

Delicious home cooking, went for Sunday lunch a couple weeks ago, what a delight! Would put it in my top 3 Sunday lunch venues, well done Mark, you and your wife have turned this place around

This is a real nice find, quite tucked away in the country. I stopped here for a rest on my way home after a joy ride around St Abbs and enjoyed a quiet pint here, it's popular with the locals who are friendly. Good beer, nice staff and a nice place to visit, I'll be back later in the spring to try their food and look forward to sitting outside here in the sunshine.

Visited the pub in the spring. Beautiful location with views of the Cheviots from the beer garden. Lovely pub food. Beer doesn't disappoint. Great location. Handy for walkers and cyclists. Near bus stop with regular services to Rothbury, Morpeth and Newcastle.

The staff are very welcoming the food great especially the pizzas they are the best we have had , the open fire is so welcoming in the winter and in the summer the beer garden is beautiful with lovely views love going here

Stayed at the cottage owned by the owners of the cross keys pub, greeted by a lovely down to earth couple of whom are pretty new to the pub game, our cottage was lovely, clean, warm and comfortable, the pub was cozy with the coal fire!! The kids enjoyed playing on the pool table, the food was good!! Toasties, pizza and chips!!deserts are soooo good!! And we booked in for Sunday dinner which was very nice, if you want a nice meal with a laid back atmosphere this is definitely the place to go, will definitely go back, thank you Mark and Simmone for a lovely stay, also all the locals are very friendly!! Met some good characters

Visited this pub recently whilst on holiday on a Saturday night and asked whether they serve vegan roasts. Owners went out of their way to make sure I had a lovely vegan Sunday dinner the next day. Lovely garden and owners attentive and friendly. Would recommend.

Lovely terraced beer garden at the back of the pub, with spectacular views. Friendly landlord. Kitchen temporarily closed, but we were only after a drink.

Very friendly staff and customers when we stopped by. This won't be to everyone's taste as it is just like an old country pub was 30 years 40 years ago just how I like it.they do serve food at very reasonable prices. We didn't have time to try it so can't comment on that.

Such a nice place, dosnt seem to have been touched by the modern bug.

The pub looks brilliant from the outside, with lovely views of the valley but the inside was dingy and unpleasant, an almost unfinished quality. The beer was awful with only one beer on draft, the taste was not nice. This was despite them advertising cask ales outside. The locals were abrasive and abusive towards us. Avoid at all costs.

Old country pub nothing new old school with regular locals, very pleasant and welcoming with open fire.

Went today for roast dinner , worst experience of my life. Got told not enough lamb so I ordered 1 lamb and 1beef , 45mins later got told no beef left so I said pork then . After asking for our lunch twice it came , I'm going to say no more except what a joke . Tiny scraps of meat 1 roast potato and a small dish of veg which consists of 1 cauliflower floret (discoloured) 4 peas and 4 carrots (slices) and when I asked if this vegetables was for 2 people they said yes as they don't have anymore , disgusted I said I'm sorry but I cannot pay for a meal like this the owner said ok I give you it half price . We couldn't believe what he said and we said we do not want it at all and left. .Total of one and a half hours wasted in that place after having such a lovely day out . Went to Rothbury bakery (beautiful sandwich and a pie ) mrs Logan
